    Express appliances broken

    I bought a dryer, clothes washer and refrigerator from this place. After a few months the washer broke which they did replace because of warranty. Two years later the refrigerator, washer and dryer all are complete unfixable! I had to pay almost 200 dollars for express appliance to send out someone to fix the washer, and even when they couldn't fix it I still had to pay. The guy who came out to fix was very nice and knowledgeable, and he told me that Express Appliance buys already broken appliances, fixes them enough so they will last their warranty which is 6 or so months, and sells them for a couple hundred less than brand new. He was honest to the point that he was quitting the company so that's pretty bad. This place is ripping you off, so go else where to buy.

    First ever exprience shopping for used appliances and I learned it is a crap shoot. If you are making that gamble in the Boise area, I'd say it is a pretty safe bet to work with the guys at this store. Express Appliance is the resale and repair part of the business it seems and All Brands Appliances is the parent company. Look for the All Brands sign out front and the Express truck parked in front. Address is 609 N. Orchard Street in Boise. (Not yet entered in Yelp when I posted this review.) We would have not even bothered to pull in here given the location with pay day lenders and tatoo parlors as neighbors but Express came recommended by a local professional who knows her stuff. Both Mike and Andrew were super to help us review the in store options and had we needed a used washer / dryer set we thought we would temporarily (and in the end didn't) Express would have been our choice of provider for a set that was roughly a third of the cost of buying new. They do a full inspection and rehab on any washer / dryer they are reselling, provide a three month warranty and their delivery and set up fee is very reasonable, under $40 as I recall. Although we didn't find ourselves in need of used appliances based on our experience here we'd say you could be in the chips if you are and work with this business. Their inventory changes all the time, front loads are tougher to come by than top loads if you're in the washer / dryer search, and if you're willing to take a mis matched set they seem to be prepared to make a jackpot of a deal. THIS N THAT: 1) SERVICE CALLS: They make service calls to repair appliances and also provide hook up services for moved appliances. For either of those services we would happily have Express at the top of our "to call" list. 2) PARKING: Awkward small parking strip in front of store. 3) ACCESSIBILITY: Don't think I saw accessible parking at the store front. But if you can get out of your car and into the store, it is level in and throughout with ample floor space between displays. 4) SECOND LOCATION: They have another location in Nampa.

    Great customer service. The person who helped us was so nice, so patient, and so helpful. We're really happy with our experience shopping here and love the fridge we ended up with. Definitely recommend stopping in :)

He was professional, polite, and took great care when pulling the dishwasher out to investigate the issue. He was well-dressed, respectful of our home, and completely transparent throughout the process. Shane ordered the replacement pump and had it installed just a couple of days later. He even arranged for us to have the first appointment of the day! Not having a working dishwasher was a huge hassle, but Cody's made the process smooth and stress free. This was actually their second visit to our home. They had previously repaired our washing machine, which had been bouncing around during the spin cycle. They quickly diagnosed the issue, had the part the next day, and replaced what ended up being a worn out strut. When something you use every day stops working, it's incredibly disruptive. I know I'm in good hands when I call Cody's. I will always call them in the future. Thank you Shane and Loren for the top-notch service and support!

    UPDATE: So shortly after I posted this Mr Appliance called…read moreme. We talked about my problem. Marty came out and said the board is fine but my washer shouldn't be wobbling like that. He wanted to replace the struts, but didn't want to charge me any more money because he wasn't exactly sure if that was the problem. So he came out again replaced the struts. That didn't work. He said it could be a spot weld that needs re-welded or the ring is shot. Neither is worth fixing since we can buy a new washer for that amount. Mr Appliance didn't charge us any more money. They did right by me and I wish this was a 5 star but one employee needs to learn to keep his ears open to listen to customers and not voicing his opinions. Thanks again for making it right. This place doesn't listen to you. First off I told the office to call my wife, since she is home and I'm at work. I told them that the control board was replaced but it wasn't calibrated and personality checked properly. That is why it is unbalanced all the time. So Curtis showed up and right off the bat said sounds like the motor is going out, front load washing machine never clean your clothes, the pedestals are the problem, shock absorbers are causing it to be unbalanced, and finally said it was the struts are going bad (I mean the shocks). Of course he had to call his boss to confirm. So we gave them $130.00 for nothing. I just wish they had listen to me. I did a lot of research.
