We had some water damage from two roof leaks, and decided to paint our whole place while we were at it. We have a large loft (20') and had many "issues" from dented bullnose to some crappy work when the place was originally built (seams showing, nails popping out, all that fun stuff). Even more fun was we had a full house of stuff to work around. We put this off for many years because we knew how difficult it would be. Matt was great about quoting everything- working around furniture, removing and replacing lots of artwork, all of the prep, and being super clear about what was and wasn't included. He was also great about recommendations for sheen and paint types for different areas. Once we were scheduled, he was also great about working around a never ending series of schedule changes as we uncovered more leaks and had to coordinate roof repairs. When the project finally started, we had packed up about 1/2 of our stuff and the crews were able to work with and around what we had left. They did a fantastic job masking and protecting things - and we were able to "live" through the project. Matt has a team of craftsmen that specialize in drywall/plaster work, light carpentry, and painting. We did a LOT of drywall work with the ceiling repairs, plus correcting for some past errors. I joked with the guys that each of them were slightly OCD / perfectionists about different things - which really worked out well for us, as the attention to detail really showed through to the final product. On top of being meticulous, the people Matt hires are genuinely GOOD folks that we enjoyed having in our home for so long! Given all of the leaks and problems that were uncovered during the project, Matt and the crews were always fair about change orders, and we ended up right at the high end of my expectation (+20% over initial budget). I feel really good about the entire experience. This was a massive job that ended up taking about a month start-to-finish, and we couldn't be happier with the results.
