I called Eddy for a quote of some Re-touch work for my townhome I was getting ready to rent out again. I had "tried" to re-touch some walls the night before and when coming back the next day realized the walls just were not jiving. This review is long overdue but I could not forget to write this because Eddie and his team were amazing. Short version: If you want an honest, hard-working, clean, and trustworthy group of people working for you, definitely hire Eddie for the job. Long/detailed version: My husband and I bought a town home and decided to DIY remove our popcorn ceilings. I wanted a flat/non-textured ceiling so I assumed that doing it ourselves would be easy, after all the videos and blogs I read...boy was I wrong. We scraped the popcorn off both floors, which was relatively easy. But the trouble came in when we were priming and painting. I attempted to smooth out the imperfections on our ceiling by spackling then sanding, but it ended up taking way too long and being much more time consuming than I assumed it would be. After throwing in the towel I contacted about 8 different painting companies (and yes, all the other companies were highly rated here on Yelp). After getting quotes from all the companies I came to the conclusion that 7 out of the 8 companies were either A) overpriced (about $1,000-2,000 more than Eddie quoted me for) and/or B) trying to up sell me on the work needed to be done especially considering my husband and I had already removed the popcorn ceiling ourselves, our town home was completely empty and prepped with plastic all over, and the entire upstairs carpet was going to be removed anyways so they didn't need to worry about prepping the upstairs. Eddie was the only one that was real with me and took into account these factors when quoting us. Because he was so affordable and we saw the quality of his work with our ceilings we ended up contracting him to paint our interior walls as well. They used Dunn Edwards paint and you have a wide variety of colors to choose from. We also have a big dog and a two year old and it's been very easy to clean. Being pregnant and having to take care of a 2 year old, I wasn't able to stay and keep an eye on how everything was going. My husband or myself would unlock our home in the morning, Eddie and his crew would work the entire day, I would stop by in the afternoon to drop off lunch, and my husband would swing by after work to lock up. Not going to lie, I was very hesitant about leaving strangers in our home for almost the entire day but Eddie and his team made it so easy for me to do that because they are a very trustworthy group of guys. They were all so respectable and grateful for the small things (like when we'd give them water or bring them a little something to eat) and would always clean up after themselves at the end of the day. At the end of the entire job, I did a final walk through with Eddie where I was able to tell him what needed retouching and what things I was unhappy with. I ended up not having anything wrong with the job and even though I was a happy customer, there were some things that caught Eddie's eye that he fixed without me having to mention. We have hired E.Z.A. Painting to basically repaint our house inside and out over the last year. They painted the exterior first, using a color scheme we had seen in another part of the country on a different architectural style than our house. It could not have turned out better. They also repainted our iron gate and fence. After we had our popcorn ceiling removed last fall, owner Eddie and his crew of Aida, Enoch, and Frankie painted the entire interior of our house in two stages. It included texturing and painting the naked ceilings and painting almost every nook and cranny (except the furnace closet) of the house, including the beams of our vaulted ceiling. Whereas the entire interior was originally one color, we used multiple colors this time, with some good input on color choice from Eddie & Aida. The color of the oak double vanity in our main bathroom needed updating, too, and they suggested and carried out something completely different, using paint instead of stain. It turned out great! In addition we asked them if they could re-stain a huge bookcase (family heirloom) to match a specific color. Eddie found the exact match in an off-the-shelf color (no custom mixing required), and Aida did an amazing job staining it. Finally, we decided that our front door need re-staining because of weathering, and because it didn't match the exterior color scheme. Aida removed the old stain & weather damage with some incredible sanding & stripping (the door feels like fine furniture), and Eddie & Aida found a color that was perfect for our exterior color scheme. It looks like a new door, for a fraction of the cost. Eddie is very fair on cost proposals, and he and his crew are always professional, trustworthy and friendly. You don't have to worry about him or the crew being on the job on time or returning a phone call or text in a timely way. They're all very conscientious. Eddie has tons of experience, and it shows.
