Customer service is a joke. I've had many people there be rude, I've been hung up on multiple times on several different occasions only to call back and be sent straight to voicemail. This is the worst place we could have ever financed through and I can't wait to get out from under them, I would give them 0 stars if I could. GE Credit Union "upgraded" their online banking system and in doing so completely mucked it up. I called four times to get into my account. Every person told me the same thing to log in which did not work and did absolutely nothing help me. The entirety of the GECU team with the exception of Mark at the call center is dumber than a bag of wet mice. read more

Worst customer service I've had next to AT&T. I used to be able to make my loan payments from my external bank on a set schedule and now GE is rejecting them. A tinly little message says I have to put in my external bank info monthly to make payments. So I called and told them my issue, and the teller just stopped talking, got very quiet, and hung up. Wierdest conversation. I don't think she knew what to say or how to resolve it so she just hung up. Go with a different company. I'm refinancing now. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. Their automatic payment system is nothing but trouble. System has wiped our data twice, last time we didn't know until they called. As we set up the program for the third time, we were given an option for weekly billing and took it. Turns out the weekly billing while overpaying annually didn't cover the monthly and they charged us every month a $30 late fee. First, they updated their website that was hinging on being Windows 98 compatible. Great. But in the process of updating the site, they kicked out my PNC automatic draft for my car payment, locked me out of my account and didn't get back to me with "a specialist" for over 45 days. When they finally unlocked my account and allowed to make a payment, I had to pay them $800 upfront to avoid getting my car repossessed... 2 car payment for the time I was locked out, 1 current due payment PLUS the late fees they REFUSED to waive even though this was 100% their error. And then today, they TRIPLE charged my PNC account for 1 car payment. Can't get in touch with them because their call center is 9-5. Absolutely terrible customer service! I get put on hold for at least 10 minutes and transferred at least once every time I call. Customer service representatives are unpleasant at best and down right rude at worst. I have financed several vehicles through them in the last few years... but never again! They added insurance to my loan at astronomical rate...10 times what my insurance was charging because they thought my insurance had lapsed though it never did... it took forever for them to correct their mistake and refund the fees charged. read more

I would give them no stars if I could. I have the money in my account, but they have cancelled credit card payments WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME, after I had made the payment. I had to wind up borrowing money from my boyfriend's account because the credit card company had to put a block on the bank for my account. This has happened with Capital One AND both of my Chase cards. I know it is not the account, because my boyfriend has not issues like this with another bank. They also have cancelled my debit card without notification until days AFTER they shut it off. The only positive was because I had used my card at a place that was potentially hacked. Additionally, when my card number got stolen, they kept sending me to the third party company to handle it, and that other company told me they would take care of everything. I had to wind up calling the bank and they acted like they had no idea what was up. Additionally, their customer service is terrible. Anytime I call, it's never their fault, it is always the other company, even if GECU blocked the payment without my authorization. They never have enough tellers in any branch, and there's only a few ATMs I can use without a fee, all attached to GECU. Once again, I have to borrow money from my boyfriend when we are traveling and I want to withdraw cash because of the fees. I am tired of the games they play, and they have been leaving a bad taste in my mouth for too long. read more

No one knows what they're doing, everyone acts inconvenienced by my inquiries and they added an erroneous charge on my paperwork that if I hadn't seen and asked about, would have cost me an additional $181. So I have to start off by saying that I have never come across a bank like this! We I got the loan through them I thought great rate and was looking forward to the loan, Now Im like oh crap... I have called this bank 3 times looking for my account number to setup my online stuff, they cant give it to me because there computers are down.... Really? Oh and I was told someone will call me with that info, not one returned call... So my date for a payment have come and gone, still no call... I guess they are going to charge the crap out of me in late fee and jack my credit up, now I know why the rate was so good! This credit union is hot garbage. The dealership set up my loan through GE credit union and I couldn't be more dissatisfied. When I went to sign up for online banking, their website was down for maintenance for nearly 2.5 weeks. I attempted to call in a payment and was on hold for 45 minutes just that be told I need to do it online or pay a ridiculous "convenience" fee. When I asked about a possible extension due to the hardships I was facing actually paying my loan, I was told there is a 14 day grace period. Guess when that grace period ended? The day after the website was back up. So I get back on the website to sign up for online banking using my member number provided to me in the mail, and I get denied an online banking account... Seriously?? I can't pay my loan online? Now I am on hold with them again, 32 minutes and counting. There is no reason anybody should support a business with such abhorrent customer service. I will certainly be sure not to deal with GECU in the future. Edit: after being on hold for 45 minutes, and talking to a representative for an additional 39, I kept getting placed on hold, then I was told that I could have someone call me back in a day or two... which would put me over the grace period, when I asked about getting an extension due to problems out of my control, I was hung up on. The customer service at this institution is deplorable. Like several others who have posted reviews on yelp, I was billed twice for my car payment. I called GECU on August 15 and was told that the problem would be corrected in "two business days." Two days later, the problem was not corrected, so I called again and was told to email a request to have the duplicate payment cancelled. After complying with this instruction, I was again told that the problem would be corrected. However, i checked again today and, still, nothing had been done. So I called for a third time and was told that someone would have to call me back. That's three different stories in three calls. Of course, they never called and nothing has been done to remove the second payment. read more

The first month they took money out of the wrong account, the second month they took the payment out twice. At that point I switch banks and the loan was paid off, but they still took money out of my account the third month and refused to pay the overdraft fee I incurred as a result of their error. read more

I would give a 0 if I could. We have a car loan with them. We changed insurance, they had an issue with the new insurance but every time we called into them they stated they had no record of it. They tried to charge us $300 a month for additional insurance then. When we challenged it - they stated they had no record of us calling in, we had to provide phone history to support our story along with that of our insurance carrier. The whole time, they were stating that they had no record of interacting with us and that they had clearly communicated all of the issues they had. read more

I came in quite frustrated with an issue out of my control and did not anticipate finding a solution during my visit but left with an answer to each of my questions and a solution to ease my concerns. WARNING : I and other family members have been members at GE for many years. I have had several auto loans with GE at great rates and always paid on time. This last month, GE sold my loan to the Regional Acceptance Corporation. I did some research of my own, only to find to my horror that Region Acceptance Corporation is a less than reputable company with very poor consumer ratings. I called GE CU to understand this decision, and was told they were approached by RAC who wanted to buy certain loans in good standing. I assume to offset the negatives in their portfolio. I understand that GE CU, per the terms of the loan, has the right to sell my loan. It's even common practice with larger banks, however, I would THINK the executive management would ask a few questions and do a little due diligence on behalf of their members BEFORE making this decision. Simply Goggle and read. (The BBB also has numerous complaints against RAC.) I ask for a call back from a bank manager, left a voicemail, but have yet to receive a call back. So yes, I am very disappointed with GE CU Executive Management. I liked the small community feel, until the big bank mentality crept in. I hope this does not happen to you! read more

Lost my job for about a month and a half and lost my insurance. got new job and more insurance ,then went to give GECU my new policy and they said they would not accept it because they put there insurance on the car that does not cover me in an accident,then went up on my payment from 187.00 a month to 309.00 a month. The Rep told me it would not make a different if i send my new policy to them they would not drop there insurance and accept mind i would have to refinance my loan all over again starting from the beginning to get my payment lower. but they added 1,495 to my loan for there insurance policy. So they want me to pay for there policy and mind but want accept my policy and drop there .They care nothing about there customer. So until i get someone to buy this loan from them i have to pay for 2 policy not good, and not a good company . Need to get out of this Bad. (Remember i never missed a payment yet!! ) read more

I gave them one star because I could not leave zero stars. I have had issues with proof of insurance being taken care of every 6 months as I renew my insurance. They simply do not work well with my insurance agent even after the frequency at which we've had to stumble through the process together. This causes my payment to double every 6 months while they take their time to act on their word of acquiring the documentation for my insurance agent. Upon making my last payment, which included the extra insurance payment, I was assured that once the proof of insurance was processed and insurance charges refunded that my payment would go to my next payment and I would be current. Despite being lead to believe I would be current in payments my car was repossessed this morning. Upon calling to inquire this I was told over and over they were sorry that I misunderstood. Calls are not recorded so it is essentially your word against the agent's. Apparently the phrase the customer is always right is lost with this company. I would absolutely never recommend this company. I have never experienced so much attitude and poor customer service in my life. read more

Overall my experience was really good. I had one small problem that was not completely the banks fault though: yes, it could have been avoided and was really embarrassing, then again- HAD I BEEN RESPONSIBLE I WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN IN THAT SITUATION. I had never established credit period, never had credit cards, and all student loans I had were payed off. I had been at my job for over 4 years, and made $48,000/year and no mortgage because I had owned my home outright. G.E Credit Union, was the only place who actually helped me by giving me a loan for my car. I was really relieved and am still grateful that they were willing to give me a loan when no other institution (even my own bank, also a credit union was not willing to give me a loan; even with a co-signer-retired military and an over perfect credit score with more than $70,000/year retirement). They approved a loan for just over $18,000, and a very low interest rate as well. My experience with G.E.C.U was really pleasant, and stress free. You should give them a chance,I encourage you to experience this institution for yourself and not make a decision based on a few negative reviews. You will be satisfied by the service of employees and services they offer!!! read more

Never Bank or get a loan through these people . I am going out of town 8/31/2017 ( my payment is due 9/1/2017) . I contacted GE On 8/22 arrange to have the payment taken on 9/14 ( This is my 1st arrangement since ive financed the car) . I spoke with Holly on 8/22 at 5:01pm and she guaranteed a response by the end of the day ( never heard anything). I allow 24-48 business hours ( still havent heard anything) . I then call back 8/24 and spoke with Brittany she stated she was sending it over to the correct department and that Holley was out of the office . Here is 8/28 and i still have not heard anything back AT ALL ! I call today 8/28 to speak directly to a manager . The manager Nicole gets on the phone and apologizes and wants to call me back . I demand I stay on the phone until she gets an answer. I wait on hold for 5-10 mins and she comes back on to say "shes sorry about the wait and they have approved for the withdraw on the 14th " .. I then ask for documentation of this conversation and withdraw date . She then states she will send me something within the next hour ... so we will see !!! Overall their service SUCKS ! I don't even want to give them one star. I have never received such terrible service from a banking institution. Sent them a payoff check for over $11,600 on August 13. On August 30, the Wednesday before Labor Day they said they had not received it (it had been 17 days since I sent it and payoff quote only good for 10 days), so I sent a second check (for more money of course) that day while requesting if both checks arrive only cash one. I was told they would cash both if one wasn't cancelled. The Tuesday after Labor Day the first check hit my bank. They had to have to first check on that Wednesday for it to hit my bank after a holiday weekend on Tuesday. Now the money was out of my bank in September 5. It is now September 30 and I still am waiting on my title. I cannot get the woman to answer her phone at (513)243-4328 ext. 123. She calls and leaves a voicemail while I'm working but won't ever answer her own phone. NEVER again will I use GE credit union. The have unacceptable business ethics for me. read more

Have used GE Credit Union for many years. No issues until now. GE closed my checking account with no notification of lack of activity. Never had a problem writing a few checks a year. In order to open it back up I would have to go and fill out forms again and open a new account. WORST in communication. WORST in handling customer service. I'm going to have to go in person and close all my accounts. There are better credit unions out there that I use. Check out Sharefax and Kemba as they are much better than GE Credit union. Online is horrible. They have a policy hidden in loan docs that states that you cannot make a "principal only" payment. No matter how far ahead you are you cannot just make a payment and designate it to principal without them getting their interest. Horrible! Credit unions are supposed to be better for the little guy, not GE. I also requested copies of my loan docs over a month ago because mine were damaged by water. I have yet to receive them. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. We refinanced a loan through Wright Patt Credit Union, they sent GECU a check on the 6th of Aug, my payment due date is the 16th. It took them, conveniently, until Sept 6th to cash the check, creating a late fee and additional interest. Now, these banks are 20 miles apart, not states apart. They refused to waive the late fee or take any responsibility. We had email documentation from GE to WP stating the check was received on the 10th, but they did not have that account at their bank. The account number is the same one that was on my checks they had been cashing. Miraculously at payoff time, there were 3 additional numbers needed on the account number in order to locate the account, although our name and the vehicle VIN were also on the check. No one could ever locate a manager when we asked several times to speak to one, nor did they ever return our phone calls. It wasn't a big amount, it was the point, we did not owe that money and the delay was their fault. read more

I bought my car July of 2014. When I transferred my insurance from my old car not realising that I needed full coverage instead of the liability I had(I'll take blame for that). When they asked for proof of insurance and it wasnt full coverage they charged me $950+ fee. I didnt have that amount so I had to refinance within a year. I took the form, $100 fee and payment in on the due date(June 29 2015). I explained to the clerk what was going on and that the form had to be given to a loan officer(nobody told me that I had to SEE a loan officer). She said she got it and gave me my reciept. Weeks later, we get a notification that the form wasnt turned in so we had to fill out the paperwork again. So we did. Now they want anoher $100 fee(that I already freaking paid). I'm going to pay it to keep it off my credit but if they try anything again...they can stick the car up their butt. This place is so unorganized and will screw you every chance they get. Never getting a loan through them again. Thinking about refinancing with someone else just to get far away from them. Terrible company. read more
