Worst customer service ever. Drove about an hour to get there to be told we could not even look at the rv's!!! Ridiculous

I am very annoyed with the service department. I am sick and tired of them telling me they are going to call me back and it never happens. I understand my original service writer was let go, but I got a text message on Tuesday that he was let go but someone would contact me "tomorrow". No one contacted me so finally today, I called and was told someone would call me. 4 hours later I was called and found out that the part that was needed for an appointment I made a month ago was never ordered. been a busy year and there was a screw up, I'm not thrilled but I will deal with it. So the new service writer I talked to (I did not write her name down, my fault) said she was going to talk to the original parts guy I talked to in my initial call a month ago and she would call me right back. I waited for two hours before I tried to call back because the original plan to drop off my RV involved me taking work off for part of the day tomorrow so I NEED TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON. Now when I call back I find out the service dept is closed at 5:00. I understand stuff happens but at least have the courtesy to CALL ME BACK. Apparently once someone signs on the line, customer service is no longer relevant. read more

Miki is the absolute best! She goes out of her way to make the customers happy and will involve whomever else she needs to in order to make things right. We have been extremely pleased with all of her help and will continue to work with her and recommend her to our family and friends. read more

We took our RV in for repairs on January 4, 2021 and were told they would store the RV after the repairs were made until April 30th. I called at least 7 times in the last month to see where they were with the repairs and left messages only to have one call returned. I was told all the repairs were done. I told Shianne we would be there on the 30th, before noon, to pick up the RV. When we got there they had not even put the awnings on yet. We had to wait hours to get it. In the process of putting on the awning they broke the light track and told us we would have to come back to have that repaired as they didn't have it in stock. We cannot bring the RV back because our truck was stolen and had a friend bring me up that day to transport it up north to a permanent spot. They expect us to pick the 12 ft long part up in a car and have it replaced up north. Such terrible customer service. After paying over $5,000 for the repairs you would think they would ship it to our address up north, but they said they could not do that. I will never recommend the Birch Run branch. Bought two Grand Design units from the Birch Run store. The sales people bent over backwards to sell you a unit. However I should of read the reviews on the Grand Design trailers and the service department lack of ability to fix a major issue with my Grand Design Fifth Wheel! It will not stay level. In 4 days the front dropped almost 3/8 of a inch! The Birch Run service department had it over two weeks and said they couldn't see any problem...I took it back to my seasonal lot set it up and the next weekend it was drifted down again! After contacting the factory and they tried to be helpful but after I wrote David Hilliker another email all he could say was he was sorry! I know another camper who has a GD 5th wheel with hydraulic jacks that has the same issues! Buyers beware I'd think twice about General RV and the less than acceptable service Department read more

I'm so impressed with General RV B.Run. Your people, the supplies available in the building, your sales people (Jeff Stover and Heiser for us). Joe in Finance.... every step of the way the service and contacts were waay above expectations. We are new customers, and had issues with the title that delayed getting our trailer (new used)... but you guys made it right. Here is the amazing part to me... even after all this, it was inspected at the time of sale and the LED awning lights were not quite right on the awning... now we didn't know at the time, but they ordered a replacement. On top of that, the steps were not right, but we had already taken delivery and thought it was just a lesson learned. Low and behold, we get a call, that the lights are ready to be replaced, AND the steps had been ordered. It was caught at the inspection process. It is a real inspection, not just something the customer is told. Never had such a thing happen before, wow. I can't tell you how happy that made us, it was WAY above and beyond... we are a customer for life... and I will be very happy to tell others what a wonderful experience we had buying our trailer. Despite some hiccups with delivery, and with the title and a long delay, we are very pleased over all. So november 21 I was up for having the new parts replaced so I hooked to the trailer and drove up, wondering how it was going to go. The lady that i was assigned to was ON IT and one bundle of energy! Ashley? (sorry if I messed that up) wow.. I was dreading the wait, thinking a big place it would be a dragged out process. She gave me an estimate on the time and it was spot on. I was beat after working all night and just wanted to get it done...found those comfortable chairs in the waiting area and waited..... man, did that go good.. Im blown away by the whole experience. Thank you so much. What a relief. It just can't be much better then this. It prob doesn't always go that good, but it sure did for me. I'm always the guy that wants to KNOW the real deal and expectations. This was above and beyond, and we are so grateful. I can relax. The trailer is put away and ready for next years camping season!! read more

The experience at Birch Run was terrible. We went in to close on a trailer, go over it and it took all day. We were there from 10:00AM to 5PM. Financial person quoted me a interest rate. I was not there when papers were signed and got home and found interest rate 3 points higher than quoted. He should have called us to inform us of that as I had told him what rate I could get somewhere else. They lost the keys, forgot to put sway bar connection on trailer, didn't have the lights that were part of the deal. They didn't put the TV in, got home and had to go back to pick it up. Sat with service associate to let her know the issues. We made an appointment, took the trailer in and they didn't order the parts. I decided to leave the trailer this time as we were not going to haul it back and forth. read more

Everyone was polite and very helpful despite it being a holiday weekend. I didn't have an appointment and they still got me in and took care of the lights on my boat trailer. I was very thankful. They have a customer for life. read more

The sales transaction was great and very friendly. Later, the service was not so much. I want to express my concern over the safety of the Trailer General RV let me take on the road. Specifically, the condition of the tires that were on the trailer I purchased from Wixom. I trusted that the Service department would have pointed out the poor condition of the tires when they did the Dealer Prep/Inspection of the used trailer at the time of pickup. In August, 2016, my 3rd time using the trailer and after only 250 miles driven, I had a blow out on I-127 S near Higgins Lake, MI. I almost lost control of the vehicle and trailer, during which the wheel and tire were completely destroyed. I sat on the highway with cars speeding by for over an hour until I could get a tow truck to come, a safety concern in and of itself. The spare was rusted on and the bolts holding it had to be cut out - obviously the spare had not been inspected by the service team either. After 2 hours, the spare was finally put on. The tow driver and I inspected the other tire on the passenger side, and he advised me to drive to a dealer and get it replaced immediately, because it was bald and looked ready to burst as well. Sadly, no dealer in the area carried the correct tires in stock. So, after blowing the whole day, I drove slowly home on that tire in terrible condition. It cost me $92.70 a tow truck, $319.90 for tires, and considerable stress to my family. Here is a list of things that were "broke" after the first use: 1. awning rollout plastic switch at top is broke 2. metal awning lock clip at top of rail missing 3. couch seat broke from wood rail underneath 4. outside door seal came off while driving home from your store 5. wood trim over bed came off 6. bathroom vent fan no longer works 7. and of course all the tires and spare. read more

Cannot recommend this company. We visited two of their locations and saw the RV we wanted on their website for $10,000 less. Salesman did not know the Internet price. Do not pay or sign papers until they have corrected problems! Took six weeks to get parts and 3 1/2 months to get serviced. Calls not returned, misinformation from service dept. coach was dirty when delivered and nobody cared. We are hearing the same experience about other dealers and would recommend not giving them your money until the RV is fixed to your satisfaction! read more

not a good idea to go here. The purchasing portion of my experience was great. Everything after has been nothing but a hassel. Service writers dont know how to use a phone and never call you back. They dont know what the warranty period is or whats covered. My camper has been in for service 5 times, all for the same problems, and still isnt fixed! Now i have to take it back, again! read more
