I always look forward to my appointments at True Color and when I moved here a year and a half ago, I got lucky when I called for an appointment and got Lisa as my stylist. She is so good and so nice. The salon is small, but neat, clean and nicely decorated. She tried for maybe 20 minutes to get the twist part right and couldn't, so another lady had to do it it for her. Then, I ended up with a bunch of curls on top of my head, and probably half a can of hairspray in my hair. I have been in many weddings and never had such a difficult time brushing out my hair after having it styled. It looked okay, but not the greatest. I will say however, the price was great (only $30) and all of the girls there were extremely friendly! Not the greatest experience I have ever had but not horrible either.

I called The Parlor, without knowing anything about them, looking for a place to have my daughters,…read moremy sisters, and my hair done for my daughters wedding. All of us are from out of town and knew nothing about any salons in the area, so finding and going to a stylist that we didn't know was scary and stressful, but my first call to The Parlor made me feel at ease. Lauren (the owner) reassured me and made me feel comfortable. Not only did she make me feel comfortable with our hair plans, but was also a local person who knew many of the other venders that would be at my daughters wedding and spoke highly of them. We set up appointments for both a trial run and the day-of styling. The trial appointment went well and Lauren and Taylor were super friendly and easy to work with. They listened to what we were looking for and tried options until we were happy with the outcome. The only concern we had after the trial was that mine and my daughters hair didn't stay put for long, but we found that they can't use as much product for a trial so they can work with different styles. The hair for the actual wedding day was absolutely perfect and lasted all day/night long! I felt that Lauren and Taylor both did a great job making us feel welcome and giving us beautiful hair up-dos for the wedding.

Instead, I experienced ageism, misogyny, and a guy whose ego seems to know no bounds. If you are over 45, I suggest you don't even try this salon. Timothy rolls his eyes about his mother's "performance" when doing his laundry. Timothy does not care about his clients in equal measure. If you are over 65, you won't get a very warm welcome that lasts for very long. Do yourself a favor and skip this place!

However, I was made to feel unwanted as a client because I wasn't spending more. I had to cancel a haircut due to insufficient funds. After that, it was actually suggested that I go elsewhere. Clearly, all the owner (and Rebekah) care about is money. Those good reviews are clearly first impressions. If you schedule at this salon, you will sooner or later learn that the class is only on the surface. There is no appreciation of the clientele. I couldn't be more disappointed.
