** EXTREMELY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER ** HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE ** We have been a customer for about two (2) years, and the backup generator only has about 145 runtime hours on the unit. We believe we have a LEMON and demand we get our unit functioning or replaced, so we can depend on our backup generator in emergency situations. We have had to call for emergency service, every single time the unit has ran and being charged for an emergency service call every single time. It was my understanding this unit was going to give us "peace of mind" and I can definitely tell you that we DO NOT HAVE PEACE OF MIND. As a matter of fact, we just ordered us a backup to our backup generator. We are extremely upset and have lost major food due to the unit not functioning correctly. I can't believe we paid so much money for us to be dealing with this kind of agony and stress. We call for service and get a busy dial tone over and over again having to call 50+ times just to get through to talk to an answering service, with no returned phone call. We called on a Monday and the technician came out the same day to just tell us that a part needs to be replaced; and he didn't know if they had it in stock at the warehouse or if they had to order it from Wisconsin and it may be days before it comes in. Three (3) days later we have yet to receive any update and the unit is still NOT in working condition, leaving us to deal with this extreme heat for days with no electricity!!! The technician did not even attempt to get the unit in working condition, not even on a temporary basis; he just told us this is a known issue for units that have ran for about 140+ hours. We asked why the past technician didn't order the replacement part, and the company do a preventative maintenance plan for those units that are near the estimated run time failure. He stated, he can't speak for the other technicians or the company. He left and we never heard from him again. We don't know if he ordered the part or even if our unit will ever get repaired. Customer Service is KEY, if you don't have a TEAM to receive the service request, then follow through and with a plan/resolution in an emergency situation, then why are you in business. WE ARE DEMANDING AN IMMEDIATE RESOLUTION TO THIS ISSUE WITH A GUARANTEE THAT WE CAN TRUST OUR UNIT WILL BE IN WORKING ORDER, WHEN THE POWER GOES OUT. read more

Rodney Allen at Generator Supercenter Tomball was contacted on the recommendation of a neighbor who had researched various sources and had a home Generac generator installed by GS. Rodney indicated he would send his best salesman out to visit me in Rosenberg, Tx. An appointment was made for three business days later. Communications were great confirming appointment. Colton Lingner arrived for visit on schedule. Rodney reviewed the overall program in our living room for about 30 minutes, then spent about 30 minutes reviewing our home and property in regard to electricity usage and equipment placement. He consulted with us regarding unit location options and showed us how the transfer equipment would be connected to our electrical system. Then another living room chat took place for about 30 minutes which involved specific details about the turn-key installation process, equipment sizing, warranties, time elements, maintenance services, commitments, veteran/other discounts, payment process, costs, follow-up etc., etc. Throughout the visit, Rodney was very responsive and patient in answering "ALL" questions. The signup process was quite simple and an easy process. Rodney's clear and detailed presentation of information was greatly appreciated. Before arriving, Casey took the initiative to speak with his supervisor after learning that my home had no air conditioning due to the generator failure. Temperatures were near 100 degrees outside and over 90 degrees inside. Although my service appointment had originally been scheduled for the following week, Casey advocated on my behalf and successfully expedited my ticket so the issue could be addressed immediately. His awareness, empathy, and willingness to act made a tremendous difference. When Casey arrived, he took the time to clearly explain what had happened to the generator and walked me through the damage in detail. I'm not one to really leave an review. But, I feel I really should for this one. We've had our generator for an few years, so they said they needed to change out to 4G now that 3G was no longer. Well they did that and the following Monday our generator didn't come on. So I called to let them know. they sent someone out, he said they forgot to flip an switch when they arrived. So, I wait till Monday again, NOTHING.... I called to have them come back out. He said they forgot to put the fuse back in. OK... Now I'm waiting again on Monday. Guess What? Nothing again.. So, here comes another tech. His Name is Perry Baker and his in training tech. Angelo. They ended up having to replace the same device the 1st one put on. Made sure it was set to Central time and all the bells and whistles were taken care of. The switches were flipped, the fuse was in and this time it was set for correct time and day. They were both very respectful of our property, very friendly and knowledgeable and Professional. I made sure that our generator ran for 2 straight Mondays before I posted this. If I ever need anyone to come back out, one of these two will for sure be my go to. These 2 were GREAT. Thank you Perry and Angelo. Reading negative reviews, the thought comes to mind that some customers may deserve negative reviews for themselves even though customer is always right. I have had my Generac installed several months ago by Generator Supercenter and it works like a charm. It has about 8 hours of back up power now. Scheduling and installation went very smoothly including having Centerpoint to upgrade my gas meter at no charge to me. I am trying to find any flaw in their process but I can't. Keep up with good work! ------------------------ Update after the first anniversary of service. Generator performed like a charm during power outages totaling 39 hours of operation. During the infamous freeze it kicked in for continuous 24 hours powering all home equipment nicely and not consuming a lot of natural gas leaving all my gas appliances up and running to keep my house warm. I am very happy about that! Today it was due for the first free maintenance. It took just a phone call to schedule it, and Chase arrived even ahead of schedule. He did a fantastic job changing oil/filter, air filter, servicing battery terminals (using a special corrosion-free ingredient), and cleaned the entire machine with paper towels. I want to compliment Generator Supercenter for recognizing and understanding the differences in some of their customers' needs. Growing up in the Houston area, I know how important my Generator is to my wife and me. I'm retired but I have over 26 years of repairing Heavy Diesel Equipment as an Independent Mechanic, and I do the service (oil changes, spark plugs, filters & batteries) to our Standby Generator to this day. I scheduled a Service Call to have the Voltage & Frequency checked on my Generators output, and to Check & Adjust the Valve clearance if needed. An employee named Kimberly in the Service Department went above and beyond to take care of my needs. She was very polite and professional and scheduled my service call with a particular technician that had serviced my unit a few years ago, and I told her I was very pleased with his level of skills. Kimberly didn't "have" to do that, but she did, and I was very pleased knowing that she did. To me, this shows that a company like Generator Supercenter really cares about their customers. This is the 3rd house we've built in the Houston area, and we install a New Generator on day 1 at each of them from Generator Super Center, and if we move again, we'll purchase another one from them for that house too. read more

Get ready for a mess. Genset works just fine. Sales guy will make it look like it's magic. What they tell is that they will give you $125 "Credit" for cleaning up their trenching. Ok, but they hide $125 in the overall cost and leave you with a $400 or more mess! Oh, they ignored the orange paint that marked the ATT fiber and damaged it and they cut the sprinkler sensor. They fixed the sensor wire. However, you have to call ATT and spend your money ( $99) to have the fiber replaced as it can't be repaired. Then you get to send all the paperwork to them for a refund via check. We'll see. And, if you use a credit card to pay them it will cost you another 3%! 3% of $14k is $420! ( That was not pointed out on my Costco sponsored install). GSS gets 3% on all CC's. So, yes we have a nice new Genset, but if they would just train the diggers to put the dirt on tarps or boards and to backfill with a trench compactor I would be much happier. Would I refer them to you? Probably not....unless you can wrap your mind around the above and be ok with it. Update: Generator Supercenter has reached out to me and apologized. We had our Residential Combo 24kW Generac installed on 12/2/25. Abouts 3 months in it developed a significant oil leak. They felt like it was the rear main seal and sent Simon one of thier Senior Ttechnicians to replace the seal. He got the motor out and inspected the old seal and it looked like it was in good condition, but to be safe he went ahead and replaced it. Once reassembled it was still leaking, but not from the newly replaced rear main seal. Simon was great. He went over the engine inside and out to see where it was leaking and ultimately felt it was comming from the inside possibly due to a factory install issue. It was handed over to Madysen in the Waranty division and what a ray of sunshine she was. She sent Lane out to talk with homeoffice from onsite to answer any questins they may have. Within a few days she and Lane had a new engine ordered and within a week it was all installed and we'e already had a two hour electrical outage and it perforned like a champ and no oil leaks. All of this just to say that Gererac Supercenter not only performs with excelllence from sale through install but they also perform after the sale with warranty and repairs. read more

Generator Supercenter Houston REVIEW for Wednesday, October 6, 2021 My wife and I had our yearly Generator service done today by Ty Henegar, the Generator Supercenter Houston Technician. Ty did an EXCELLENT job. Ty called early in the morning and gave us an approximate time for his arrival. I really appreciated that. In fact he arrived 15 minutes earlier than he had stated on the telephone. I really appreciated that because I had a meeting that I needed to attend. He finished in a timely manner so that I was able to be on time at the meeting. Ty replaced the oil and the oil filter. He also replaced the air filter. Ty cleaned the battery as well as all the inside and outside of our Generator. He monitored the system while it was running. He thoroughly checked everything and made recommendations for the future especially regarding the battery. Ty effectively communicated what he was doing in the process of servicing our generator. Anytime I have questions, no matter how dumb it may be they are always professional and answer to my satisfaction. I signed up for a generator monitoring service with Generac Supercenter but have received no communication regarding the maintenance schedule. I have had to contact the company 10-12 times before receiving any follow-up regarding the requested maintenance. Despite my efforts, I only receive sporadic text messages with scheduled service dates and no direct phone communication. Over the past six weeks, two scheduled service dates were missed without any notice or explanation. Even when I reached out on the day of the scheduled service, I received no response from the technicians. This lack of communication and failure to fulfill the service agreement is unacceptable. I am seeking a resolution to this ongoing issue, including proper scheduling, timely service, and improved communication. read more

Michael Barlow installed a new starter in my generator on 07/20/2021. His work was excellent. He was extremely polite and efficient. He noticed that the generator had not been bolted to the pad when installed and had therefore moved on the pad. He noted that fact on the work order report. Today, 07/27/2021, Cameron came to my house to bolt the generator on the pad.His work was also excellent. It was extremely hot and he had to wrestle that heavy generator around by himself until he could align the holes in the generator base with the ones in the pad. Sales process was good; I had researched generators online prior to my visit; they showed me an operational generator and answered all of my questions. The installation took longer than they anticipated; but the electrician stayed with the job until everything was properly attended. Everything was very professional and completed to my satisfaction.
