I absolutely LOVE Genesis. My fiancé bought my engagement ring from them. Since he purchased it they have been extremely helpful in resizing it and fixing any issue that I had! They're always extremely friendly and focus all their attention on you when they are assisting you. When I went in to look at wedding bands for myself and well as my fiancé, Ryan was as helpful as anyone could be! He went out of his way to find the perfect one and put up with me changing my mind 100 times. I am absolutely in love with my ring. A wonderful experience at Genesis Diamonds. Pros: Friendly staff, huge selection, willing to go that extra mile to earn your business. Cons: Retail store and web store are not the same, so the deals you see online may be different in store. After doing months of intense research to find the perfect engagement ring for my perfect woman, I finally found "the one" at Genesis Diamonds. I had my heart (and budget) set on a Ritani halo e-ring. Genesis is one of two Ritani authorized jewelers in Nashville, so I called them up and made an appointment to see the ring in person. They didn't have the exact ring in stock, but they offered to have one brought in just for me to check out. I met up with my salesman, Rick Baggett, on Wednesday the week before Thanksgiving. He was incredibly helpful in showing me the ring and explaining to me the advantages of buying from Genesis versus the online dealers that I had been comparison shopping at (lifetime warranty, 110% value when upgrading, etc.). After selecting the ring, I chose a center diamond from their massive selection. Having done my due diligence, I knew exactly what specs I was looking for. Of course, Rick and Boaz Ramon (the owner) found a stone that matched my ridiculously high expectations and stayed within my budget. When comparing apples to apples and specs for specs, Genesis pricing is certainly on par with the other online and local jewelry retailers. After putting everything together, they dropped the bomb on my Thanksgiving proposal plans: Ritani usually takes two to four weeks to make rings, but I needed it in one week. Mr. Ramon made a few calls and secured the ring and the diamond to be expedited overnight to Ritani. When it came back the next week as promised, he personally inspected and checked over the ring to make sure everything came back perfectly. Those little extra steps really showed that he appreciated my business. I could not have asked for a better, smoother, pressure-free experience. I highly recommend Genesis Diamonds. Tips: 1. I see a few reviews noting pushy salespeople. I didn't experience this, but if you do, ask for Boaz. He's genuinely nice, and will take care of you. 2. I am incredibly conflicted in writing this. While my wife fell in LOVE with her engagement ring from this shop, we have had ISSUE AFTER ISSUE AFTER ISSUE with it. She loves it so much she considered returning it to the store after our 7th issue in less than 4 months of owning it and having another jeweler custom make one just like it. While we opted to not do that, she still has it and has had even more issues with it since then. We have more notes, receipts, and "check-ins" with this piece of jewelry than one should ever have. We feel like when the "jeweler" takes a look at it, we are low-priority, have had to leave it with them for a total of well over 3 months, and we've only been married for a year and a half. INsane. The only redeeming factor here is that, while we don't feel like we've gotten NEAR the quality we've paid for, we have had a pleasure dealing with Stacie (sp?) the customer service manager. I made it quite clear to the saleswoman that there would be a good chance it would be returned since my wife is hard to please in the gift department. I casually mentioned that the owner, Boaz Ramon is one of my neighbors. The store manager offered a nice "Friends & Neighbors" discount. Neither he nor my sales person mentioned that that would make it ineligible for a return for full refund. My wife asked me to return it. She had an item in mind not carried at Genesis. At the store the cashier & manager refused to refund my purchase price. Printed at the bottom of the bill of sale is a sentence stating "All discounted items are 30 day exchange only." I left angry. I'm angry. I was told at the desk I had 30 days to return the item. I was not told that my discount meant I couldn't get a refund if my wife didn't want the necklace. Now it didn't matter if I was Friend or Neighbor. I won't shop there & I'm warning you to be cautious about doing any business at a place that would act this way to a "favored" customer. While shopping the manager David and sales person Elizabeth, both stated how safe it was shopping their. If I wanted to upgrade the diamond later, I can. If need be, there was a 30 day return policy. Unfortunately, the proposal was not accepted by my ex. Devastated, I took the ring back 7 days after the purchase. What I found out is as I accepted a "discount" on the diamond and ring, THE "30 DAY RETURN GURANTEE" BECAME VOID! ​I was also only given 1 day for an exchange. The 30 day guarantee on the website and instore material deceptively leave out this stipulation. Their policy also states a 30 exchange period would be allowed, though they are denying me this as well. When leaving their store David the manage left me with the following words after a horrible week. "I did and said what I needed to make a sale, now this is just business." If I would have known how shady the business practices are at Genesis and how they go against everything they advertise, I would have stayed far away. I visited the store one week ago and looked at a Cuban link bracket and chain. The sales agent measured and weighed both items. After he measured both items he told me that it was 10mm, and I told him I was planning a trip to South Florida where I was planning on shopping around. He then told me that Genesis would not be under sold. So I did some research, and bought what I found back to the store today. I asked the salesman to measure the items and weigh them one more time where I could compare the items as the apples to apples . So after measuring them again he came up with 10mm for both, not until a saleslady got involved that when the measurement went down to 6.5mm. So not sure if it was a honest mistake or what happen. So I surged it off as a honest mistake, but there are second thoughts. So after the measurement are finally right, we start comparing apples to apples and the prices I found was considerable a lot less. At this point the original salesman and saleslady are teaming up on the sale, and they keep asking what price will close the deal, and I tell them what I am willing to play and show them the item online as well. So we keep talking about it, and then its all the saleslady takes over. I can tell she gets a little pushy, and goes on to tell me you are worried about price not quality. I told her what person would not want to stop around for the best price and quality. At this point I am getting upset because she tells me that I need to go to South Florida go look at the chains and then come back here and then compare them. I am thinking why would I do that when I would be there, and I would buy it there. I would prefer to spend my money here, but after the game the sales people played I do not know if I would trust my business to them. Bad experience. After 50 years of marriage my husband wanted me to have something special. So I said I'll just up grade the ring he had purchased for me a couple years ago. Radio ad says you can trade up without doubling value. Will give you 10% more then paid. Yes they will but only on center diamond. Nothing for rest of ring. Was not informed of this when we purchased ring. It is in their brochure but no one volunteered this information to me. If they do decide to let you trade in entire ring then they expect you to almost double the value. Plus they act like they are doing you a huge favor. I put a deposit down for them to bring in a diamond for me to view and purchase. We set up an appointment, and they had forgotten about it or not scheduled it. They did not order the diamond. I sat there waiting for almost an hour, and they told me they wanted me to pay in full for the diamond before bringing it in for me to look at with no return policy in the event I wasn't satisfied with what they picked out for me. I spent months shopping for an engagement ring and visited Genesis Diamonds on 3 different occasions. On my first visit, the owner (Boaz Ramon) told me to leave and come back on a less busy day. WTF? On my second visit, a female salesperson offered to help and said she'd come right back to me. Instead she helped a couple who came in AFTER me. I waited for 30 minutes. When I asked another salesperson for help, she told me to wait (no one helped after I waited). On my third visit, the two older salesmen (one of them has a belly, sorry I have nothing against people with bellies btw) told me to leave my contact info and said he would call me. He never called. Much nicer jewelry stores in much nicer cities have NEVER treated me this way. Why am I treated any differently? Wow! To say that our experience here was fabulous would be an understatement. We stopped by on a spur of the moment decision, so it did take a while before we were able to be helped by a salesperson. Honestly, though, it was a Saturday and they clearly say that appointments are recommended, so I don't hold that against them. They have a huge assortment of engagement rings. We worked with Kelly, who was absolutely great. I've always been suspicious of lighting in jewelry stores and without me even asking, Kelly let us take the rings we were looking at outside to see what it looked like in natural light. I was really impressed by this. Boaz, the owner, was so awesome. He's very honest about how different pieces look, even suggesting the least expensive option if he feels it was better suited to the individual. Boaz tries to personally meet and chat with all of the customers that walk through the door and Kelly ended up spending ~2 hours with us. I didn't feel pressured and I feel very comfortable that we didn't pay a penny more than was needed for an absolutely amazing ring. You can't beat their prices (in fact they guarantee this). I was really surprised at how reasonable their prices were, especially based on the quality of jewelry in their store. My boyfriend and I have been shopping around for engagement rings, and unfortunately, Genesis was the first place that we went to. Immediately we got a bad feeling because several employees passed us without helping, and when one finally did, she seemed uncomfortable with helping us for some reason. I wanted to take my moms old engagement ring and place it into a new setting. We didn't bring the actual ring, but came with a high quality picture of it. Immediately the woman helping us tried to show us the cheapest settings without asking if I wanted to redesign the ring or asking our price range. I go to school in Green Hills and work in the Green Hills area, but for some reason it appeared that because we look younger or that I'm part of an interracial relationship, she assumed we wanted cheap. But if you can ignore their inconsistent customer service up front and make it through the door and talk to their salesmen and/or management, you'll definitely be well taken care of. Stasia was our sales woman and as a previous reviewer shared, she is THE ONE to go to! She took the time to explain everything about my ring (this was after we had already purchased it and returned it for a cleaning and a few touch-ups), how it wears, the warranty, and even calmed my fears about diamond and ring upkeep. Stasia was so friendly and affirmed me that I was a person who was "attentive to detail" and that was a good thing - not something to be annoyed about. I'm looking forward to getting an anniversary band sometime in the future! And if I do, I'll go back and look for Stasia. She's the main reason I gave this place 4 stars! A note on customer service - I'm huge on that and I think that a smile and warm greeting goes a LONG way. People would be more willing to purchase when they're validated no matter what their budget or appearance is. My (now) fiance and I purchased my Tacori engagement ring from Genesis and our experience was amazing! Obviously we had done a lot of research because the setting I wanted was so expensive as well as wanting a larger sized center stone. We stumbled upon Genesis and gave them a call. I cannot speak to location since I have never been in the store (we live in CA) but I can say the working with Boaz was such a delight! We had gone/ spoken to MANY jewelers and most of the time we would leave feeling like they were definitely trying to scam us and/or treat us like we didn't know anything, but not Boaz. He is funny and reassuring and I can honestly say gave us hands down the best deal we found anywhere in the country. My ring was done in the time he said it would take and shipped promptly. From what my fiance said, customer service with other employees of the store was great too. All in all I would highly recommend working with Boaz and trust that purchasing online from him is a safe and good choice. Just yesterday I went and got my ring steamed and the jeweler complimented how beautiful my center stone was, which made me even more impressed with the price and service Boaz offered. Unfortunately I cannot, and will never recommend Genesis to anyone I know, especially newly engaged couples. The staff is welcoming, but when it came to deeper conversation and questions, they consistently cut me off mid-sentence, and perpetually used a condescending tone. I typically practice great due diligence as a cosumer (so I realize we are partly to blame) but because of the surprise my fiance was trying to create, I was not there to help him do the same. Lesson learned. Still, I cannot stand by and let their actions go unaccounted for, so I feel the only thing I can do is leave a review: My fiance had every intention of fulfilling my dream engagement ring: rose gold, black diamond, simple. Best part being, black diamonds are significantly less expensive than their white counterparts. His sales 'expert' pursuaded him against buying a black diamond because they, "Have a tendency to crack and get easily destroyed", and to date she's had 2 women return with black diamond rings only months after purchase to return and exchange. Weeks later when he explained to me why he went with a white diamond, knowing I've always wanted black - I had never heard that before, so I conducted some research. After reading several articles and contacting 3 diamond vendors to confirm, I knew she completely lied. If anything, black diamond are more durable than white - less sparkly sure, but equally rated a 10 on the hardness scale. Her true intention was to push the more expensive, white diamonds they had in stock. Taking advantage of an unknowing, unsuspecting man who was just trying to do the right thing. Additionally, our sales associate and the manager I spoke with when I returned to the store to consider upgrading my diamond framed a 10% discount as a 'favor to me'. Turns out, they always offer a guaruntee when it comes to ring upgrades, a 110% guaruntee on the trade in according to their website. That was more forgivable than the first offense, but just another example of the horrible way they do business. I'm extremely grateful to my fiance, and had an incredible engagement thanks to him (the ring is just a plus). Still engagements are meant to be exciting, unforgettable experiences - and that being said, they place a considerable amount of stress on the individual doing the proposal. Genesis will take every opportunity to take advantage of, and exploit that in their customers. We will not be returning for our bands, and I plan on continuing to warn everyone I can against their establishment. read more

My brother and I got the bright idea to get my mom something really nice for her birthday. Jewelry was in order for this birthday so we headed to Genesis to check it out. I honestly have never been in a real jewelry store like this so just the security to get in the door was kind of tripping me out. And then once I got inside it was hard to focus because it had so much jewelry available. And it was so sparkly! And oooooh look at that bracelet! That would look great on me! Did you see the size of that engagement ring? Holy shit! Then my brother had to remind me that we were there for my mom and not for me. DOH! We settled on some diamond studs that were perfect for a big birthday and the sales lady rang them up. She also was super friendly and informative about the diamonds and warranty or whatever but I was kind of hungover and not feeling great so I could barely listen. My bad. I made the purchase, but when Elizabeth inspected the diamond several days later, she identified some issues with it. She immediately contacted me after having found a superior diamond to replace it. She emailed me pictures, and the GIA certification without me even having to ask for them. I was astounded and appreciative beyond description. She could have very easily sent me that flawed diamond and hoped that either I didn't mind, or even detect the issue. After all, the sale was complete. Instead, she did the right thing, and I am forever grateful. My rings arrived two weeks earlier than expected, and they are simply gorgeous. Top tier reputable jeweler, very friendly staff, best place to buy an engagement ring

I got proposed to in October 2018 and my ring has been at the store every month since getting it. My knuckles are much larger than the rest of my finger. the ring was sized to go over my knuckles. However, once the ring is on it just spins around making it not comfortable to wear. The simple fact that they are determined to make my ring fit the way it should is remarkable. This store was determined to make sure my ring fit and I was comfortable wearing it. After a few trial and errors they ended up ordering me a new ring and I'm going to keep it in its original condition. It still spins at times but as long as it goes over the knuckle and doesn't fall off I am happy. It was never their fault that my knuckle is bigger than the rest of the finger but they made it their job to get it right. I would recommend this jeweler every time. Especially when you are making an investment on an engagement ring. You need the whole package quality and great customer service. The customer services is awesome. Every time I walked in there I was greeted as if they were seeing me for the first time. Just walking in to get my ring cleaned I still get a warm welcome from every one. Very disappointed in the customer service after my husbands ring purchase...... they offer free cleanings and rhodium dipping, great, except they tell me as I drop my ring off it will be a week before it is ready for pick up. I have had this service done in a day before. When I explained that to the girl at the counter the only thing she had to say was they had a big sale and their jeweler was really busy... that was the fastest they could get it done.
