We over heard our sales person speaking with her supervisor and when her supervisor asked her what our budget was, our sales person responded "I don't think it's that much." Several issues during the purchase and post purchase process... I had been shopping for months for an egagement ring. I went into both the Green Hills and the Cool Springs locations along with several other locally owned and national stores. I chose to go with Genesis simply because they have a unique selection of rings and I have a unique girlfriend so it seemed to be a perfect fit. First the ring was scheduled to be completed December 5th....ummm no that is 10 weeks away (everything I read and everyone I have talked to said 3-4 weeks max on custom rings)..So I explained to the representative that I had already planned the proposal. In 6 weeks, we were leaving out of town with some friends. I had rented a hot air balloon and I was going to make this grand gesture out of it. She made a phone call "we can have it in 5 weeks" Perfect! Lets do this.... The week that the ring comes in, I get a phone call. "We have the ring in but I want to let you know, its not the platinum ring you ordered, its white gold. You can go and ask her with this ring and then bring it back in when the correct band comes in. Should not be that big of a deal" Considering the thoughts that were going on in my head at this moment, I very calmly said no thats okay I will just wait for the ring that I bought. This would have been the time to try to win me over because we were on slippery slope at this point. Instead no apology, no well let us make it up to you by doing this, no nothing!! I am in banking and if I called someone and said by the way I told you 3.5% interest but its actually 5.3% interest, I am pretty sure I would doing everything in my power to lessen the thud of that smack in the face... Anyways, the ring didnt make it in time and I spent almost $2000 on get away vacation engagment weekend that didnt happen. (Granted we had planned the vacation well before I thought this was the perfect time to ask her but still I definitely would not have done the $500 non refundable hot air balloon ride) I was in between selling my house and buying another one so I chose to have the ring shipped to my parents in Georgia. (Plus it saved the sales tax - guess its the banker in me) What they do not tell you, is that this now cuts us off from having any of the services that come with buying a ring completed in the store. We need the ring sized...."oh you have to mail it in." We need the ring cleaned..."oh you have to mail it in" We want to upgrade the diamond....."oh you have to mail it in" ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! After all the crap that I had to put up with and now I have to mail it!! I live AND work 3 minutes from the Green Hills store. I pass by it everyday, at least twice a day....I did not just drop several thousand dollars to never have any face to face contact with your people. If I would have known that not wanting my girlfriend to find the ring when she helped me move from one house to the other you know packing and unpacking always thinking where did I put the ring....would have meant that I am going to have to ship the damn ring 2 miles...I would have gone about this in a completely different way. Instead of hiding the truth, how about being upfront and maybe you would have had a fan instead of someone venting on Yelp...I guess I should have gone to Jared....the ring selection is awesome but the service is just simply not good. My fiancé and I came in looking for assistance with finding wedding bands. The woman who greeted us didn't really seem to know what was going on when I said we were looking for wedding bands she just kind of directed us to a random case that was the first one she saw that just had a bunch of engagement rings in it and said that somebody would be with us to help us soon. The sales associate who then came to help us didn't seem to know much about wedding bands. We were looking for a particular kind that is quite well-known in the jewelry industry and he kept trying to basically re-direct us into a different kind of band without any real knowledge of what he was speaking about. To work in a jewelry store atmosphere it would seem that one would have a little more knowledge as to what they were speaking about. Well that's not true if your ring is sized!! They told me that it is considered a special order if the ring has to be sized lol what a joke! One of the first things the woman helping us did was show me two identical settings in yellow and rose gold and told me to pick which color I liked better. I could barely tell the difference, and I wasn't even sure I liked the style, but she wouldn't move on until I picked a metal I liked better. I really couldn't tell the difference. Then we were passed onto someone else. The new woman immediately pulled my boyfriend away to talk to him separately. She didn't even ask if I wanted to be in the conversation about money, which I did. She talked to him in some back room while I sat there with no one helping me, left out of a conversation I wanted to be in. When they came back 10 minutes later, she wrote down the info for the rings they had me "decide" between and basically sent us away. That week Genesis called about setting up an appointment. Since we weren't able to see anything the first time, we agreed. When we came in they took us back to the same exact ring we looked at last time!! We said we wanted to look at more styles. She started trying to sell that ring harder, since I loved it so much (which was news to me??). We asked if we could see some diamonds. She asked us if we were going to buy that day. We said we didn't know, because we hadn't been able to look at what we came in for! She flat out said if we weren't going to buy that day, she didn't have time for us, even though we made an appointment!! We left before our half hour appointment was even scheduled to be over. Both times we were there, everyone was very pushy and frantic. I understand that their job is to sell, but it was ridiculous and stressful. I didn't even get to look around! I've been married for several years but wanted another band to accompany my wedding ring. It's a unique style so the chances of finding any random band that would fit flush with it would be slim to none. I was underdressed for the occasion, wearing jeans and a t-shirt with flip flops feeling like a place like that might judge me on appearance. I was greeted warmly when I walked in and a sales lady asked how she could help. I showed her my ring and explained what I was looking for. She complemented my existing ring (wasn't bought from their store) and made me feel so comfortable as we small talked a bit. She then brought over some options she'd found and one of them turned out to be just the perfect fit! We both could hardly believe how well it worked with my wedding ring. She then talked to me about dipping my ring (I didn't know this was a thing) and I also told her I needed it resized. She told me they'd take care of it (again, they didn't sell me the original ring) and that they were going to be my jewelry store for this and any upcoming jewelry needs I might have. They made me feel like royalty over a $600 purchase. They took my original ring and sent it off with the new band for sizing and they dipped my original so it would match the new band. My boyfriend and I recently went into Genesis Diamond on Hillsboro Pike and it was quite possibly the worst experience of my life...minus the free chocolate I snagged while we were waiting to be helped. And the chocolate wasn't even that great. We were buzzed in, nobody greeted us, and then we aimlessly walked around for a solid 10 minutes before somebody said anything. We handed the sales woman my great grandmother's 3-diamond ring and told her our plans to use the diamonds in a new setting. She seemed hopeful. Everybody was happy. Then, she looked at the diamonds and told us that none of them could be used. Not one single diamond. Then the owner came over, looked at the ring, and said he might be able to save one of the smaller diamonds but the rest could not be used because they were chipped and would fall apart when the ring was taken apart. All in all, they told us we should just buy a new diamond because my great grandmother's ring was basically worthless at this point. Long story short- we left. We went to King Jeweler down the street just to get a second opinion. And wouldn't you know, King Jeweler was SO helpful. And, guess what? You won't believe it...ALL THE DIAMONDS on my great grandmother's ring will be perfectly fine. They will be put into a new setting and King Jeweler informed us that the previous jeweler (Genesis Diamond) had LIED to us. So, if you liked being lied to and told that your hands are big and that a small diamond won't be noticed on them, then by all means....go to Genesis Diamond. Genesis truly is as good as it gets! Before going to Genesis I had been to countless other stores. Some of them the big brand name jewelry stores and some private/family owned stores. Some treated me with respect while others left me waiting for at least half an hour until I was helped. Once I received help I noticed that many of the rings were no different than many of the other stores, and in fact were all well overpriced. Then I was referred by a friend to Genesis Diamonds. When I walked into the front doors I knew I was in a totally new kind of jewelry store. I was immediately helped and greeted by the staff. Stephanie was patient and answered all of my questions. She made the engagement ring shopping experience one that I truly enjoyed. I couldn't have asked more for what I purchased and Stephanie made sure that everything worked out as planned. In fact, Danielle my now fiancé originally wanted a rose gold ring, which I originally purchased a ring that would be custom made through Genesis. When talking about rings a couple days later she mentioned how 90% of the rings that were rose gold were too pink for her... Having a melt down I emailed Stephanie after store hours and she responded to me promptly the next morning saying she had put an immediate halt on the ring. We were able to change the perfect ring to white gold and it went over perfectly! I was never pressured into purchasing a ring and felt that they respected my budget I had in place. My boyfriend and I are on the search for a Tacori engagement ring. Having checked two other Tacori retailers around middle TN, we decided to check out Genesis Diamonds in Green Hills. Walked straight to the Tacori counter, explained I had been checking out styles online... when I was immediately cut off and given a huge spiel about not buying a ring online. If she had let me finish, I could have told her we were wanting to look at them in store and not purchase online - we were only looking at different styles online. Well they didn't have the certain style of ring we were hoping to see... which was fine, none of the retailers did and we were not set on that one ring - just curious to see it in person, but we were not shown ANY Tacori rings by ANYONE at that store. The sales woman, Terri, was not really listening to us - if she were, we would have actually looked at the Tacori selection. We even had a manager helping us as well and when my boyfriend mentioned to him that we really liked everything about Tacori, all he replied with was "those are high dollar" and it was ignored. Terri was very pushy and wouldn't really listen to us. We were very turned off by the Nashville store. Very surprised that we had not one but TWO employees, including a manager, keep us away from the Tacori selection... especially since they're supposed to be THE Tacori dealer in Nashville. Well I listened to the hype and the commercials so I thought I would give Genesis a chance. Turned out to be a major disappointment. My girlfriend and I went to look at engagement rings. In the beginning everyone was very nice, almost sickeningly sweet. Got to hear the overly rehearsed speech of how the owner got started and went into business. Anyway, she found a ring she liked and having just started a new job I decided to apply for credit. I wasn't very hopefully that it would go through but thought it was worth a shot. Well a few moments later as our saleswoman was discussing with my girlfriend was she liked, she was rudely interrupted by the man claiming to be Boaz Ramon's brother. To "announce" that our credit was denied. The outcome did not shock me it was the manner in which they handled it. He then immediately turned and walked away and our saleswoman said "well thanks for coming in", before turning and walking away too. Thing is, I had the money to buy it out right, I was only giving the credit option a try. But they were to busy giving me the brush off to find that out. We know the prices here are certainly competitive because we've done our homework. In addition, we wanted a custom Verragio setting. The process took about 6 weeks in duration just as she promised. She dealt with Verragio to get it customized and updated us regularly with the progress. We saw CAD drawings and she made sure it's exactly want we wanted. My fiancé and I have been searching for awhile for the perfect place to get my ring. After going to a few other stores and being disappointed in the way we were treated walking in, the associates not being helpful, and the selection of rings we were thinking we would have to go with a place that was overpriced. But we decided to try Genesis and I'm so glad we did! Walking in we were greeted by an associate who offered drinks and got a sales person right away to work with us. I felt that just the first minute in the store was far better than any other. The sales guy was amazing he actually listened to what I wanted and picked rings in my price range without trying to up sale me on something we couldn't afford. And he didn't snob us when we said we didn't want a diamond because we were using my soon to be mother in laws opal from her ring. All the other stores told me that was a stupid idea. Where this sales guy embraced it and loved it. We also met the owner of the location and he was just as helpful and nice. I can only say good things about this store and employees. My ring was done in a month which was also a month before we were told it would be. I went in with my soon to be fiance, and before they would even SHOW me rings, she asked me to fill out a credit card application, which is incredibly rude. I said no, and she huffed and went away. I told her I was looking for an oval halo ring about 1ct, she brought over one that was $13,000?! That's terrible and 100% not what I asked for. On top of that, when I said no, she brought me 3 more rings that were NOT an oval halo, and were pushing my budget too. I kept saying no and literally kept asking for a specific type (oval halo, no side stones, 1 carat) and she did NOT show me any more than 4 rings, no matter how many times I asked, and none of which were what I asked for. I finally told her we would 'think about it' and she kept pressing me for a time to come back, trying to get me to make an appointment when I CLEARLY just wanted to leave. On top of that, she kept pulling the "you should reserve this one now since we're going to get busy today, it wont be here when you come back.." Literally every single sales pitch in the book this lady used, and I'm not stupid, it wasn't my first time looking at rings so I feel terrible for new people who go in there unsure of what they want with their staff being bullies. They're all on commission so all they want to do is sell you things you can't afford. I was so mad by the time they "let me" leave, that I went straight to Shane Co. in Cool Springs, where I was treated with nothing but respect (they aren't on commission), and later, where I bought my ring. read more

I couldn't have better things to say about my wedding band shopping experience at Genesis diamonds. From the moment we walked in, the staff was attentive and helpful. Within a few minutes, we were greeted by Jane Lackey who assisted us with our search. Jane was amazing! She seemed truly as interested in our wedding band search as we were. She immediately figured out what I was interested in, she never once tried to talk me out of what I was interested in (unlike many of the other stores we visited), she showed me almost 20 bands that fit by exact interest, and she really helped me decipher the differences between each band before making my ultimate decision. I left the store without a purchase because my fiancé had bought my engagement ring from a jeweler in Philadelphia and he wanted me to talk to him first before making a purchase. I visited that jeweler a few weeks later and he only made me realize more that Jane was the kindest, most knowledgable, and most genuine salesperson I was going to find. I called her that exact same day, she remembered exactly who I was even though it was 20 days later and before the close of business that day, she helped me buy the wedding band of my dreams! I am completely disgusted and cannot believe this so-called reputable jeweler is in business. On their website they advertise extremely cheap diamond prices so I went into the store with a print out of the diamond and Tacori engagement ring I wanted to purchase. Being it was an expensive purchase I wanted to see the diamond in person and make sure it was to my liking. I was told by the salesperson that the diamonds on their website are not available in store and was essentially told I must go home and make the purchase online in order to get that specific diamond. He told me he had a very similar diamond in the store, which he did (it was a 1ct round GIA certified G color SI1 clarity diamond), but it was priced over $2k more than the almost exact diamond he had on his website. I'm not sure what kind of games they are playing there but to me this is classic bait and switch. Their website advertises 35% off the Tacori engagement ring, and they take the discount off the price of the diamond as I was told Tacori doesn't allow discounting. The fact that they only offer this promotion to their internet customers and not the local Nashville community that supports them is absolutely disgraceful. Shame on you Geneis Diamonds. I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I made an appointment with Terry. In the middle of the appointment she left and assigned me to another sales person. She was rude, condescending, and so unprofessional. A friend of mine warned me of her and somehow she was the one that ended up being our sales person. Go to King's Jewelers. They are so much better. Professional. Polite. And when you make an appt, they honor that time. Terry made me make an appointment. When I said 11AM will work, she forced me into a 10AM slot which wasn't going to work. I then set it for 10. When I arrived she was with someone else. We waited for 45 minutes and she was rude when she approached us. Look these guys up. They rate things in store. GIA to these folks is a joke. Their in house rating is WAY OFF. My friend bought a ring there and the diamonds have fallen out a third time now. My husband once walked in to their store when he was shopping for my ring and they didn't give him the time of day. Seriously re-think shopping here. I would NEVER buy anything from this store! I was looking for a diamond for my 25th wedding anniversary. I went into their store twice & basically got ignored both times. Once I was the only customer in the store so they weren't too busy. Just very rude! A salesman helped me for a couple of minutes then told me to come back with my husband. I did not understand why he made that remark but I dismissed it thinking nothing of it. I did take my husband back. This time Boaz Ramon helped us immediately. He mentioned that I brought my husband back and now we could do business. I could not believe my ears! I asked him if he remembered me & he said, "Yes". I asked him point blank, "Did you not help me before because my husband was not with me?" He said, yes, men make the purchases. WHAT?! I informed him that in this day & age, women make purchases every day without a man. If he did not service women, especially in a jewelry store, he was losing a lot of sales. He disagreed & said he knew that men buy not women. DONE! I went to another jewelry store in town. Received superior customer service and bought my 3.25 D diamond. Then, I had a ring designed.
