I'm finally certified as a phlebotomist! I want to thank Leslie and all the instructors who taught and encouraged me to be confident in my skills. Leslie also kindly walked me through the externship and licensure process so I was able to complete everything within 2 months. I strongly recommend GMC for any of you looking for certification in medical/healthcare fields. 5/5!!

I have been frequenting this medical college for at least 7 years. I have taken Ventilator classes etc here as well. Today was a little different I was taking the blood and IV therapy class. Jacqueline the RN was our teacher very knowledgeable, she may be chatting but don't think for a second that she's not paying attention or she doesn't have eyes in the back of her head lol... The instructor is very skilled and knows what she's doing. I highly suggest this to all nurses or anybody looking for this skill. Skills Kab review: The skills lab is very clean , All supplies needed were provided for us. Sharp's containers tainers comfortable seating To all my yelpers out there 10, 000 views in 90 days thank you !! Leave a comment or a question and I will reply. Thanks be safe humanity!

This school has grown so much since I first came to California as a critical care nurse in 2014. Instructors are diverse, personable and experienced. The students are so different and from all over-some even fly into Southern California just to complete their accelerated classes. I have always been able to get in touch with faculty for mentoring or help with work and school applications. My career has grown to include so many opportunities both at GMC and across many other industries. Looking forward to being here again!

After my tour, however, the communication completely changed. I had to call multiple times just to receive an application. When I finally reached the admissions representative who gave me my tour, she sent it to me, but after I completed and returned it, I never heard back. I called again to follow up and still received no response. As an older woman returning to school, the experience left me feeling dismissed and made me question whether my age played a role in how I was treated. Regardless of the reason, the lack of follow-through was extremely unprofessional, especially after they had pursued me for so long. Fortunately, I found Homestead Schools in Costa Mesa and couldn't be happier. They accepted my application, and my instructor, Jennifer, has been amazing. I've had a great experience since starting this August. Homestead also has an established Torrance location and a newer Costa Mesa location on Bristol. I'm grateful things worked out the way they did, because I ended up at a school where I feel welcomed, supported, and excited about my nursing education.

I received my ATT (approval to test) within one week from my last day. I had the option to test immediately but I had applied to test with accommodations so with limited centers for accommodations I tested 1 month out in August and passed the first time. I worked closely with our Careers Center and the director Dr. Willinger to create an amazing resume right after receiving my license, began applying to jobs immediately and received an invitation to interview within one week for DaVita. Two weeks later I received an invitation to interview for an ER position close to home which was my first choice to build a strong foundation as a new nurse. I know there are a lot of negative comments about this school on here. I have heard and watched a lot of sad and crazy experiences that my friends and other peers endure with staff and faculty throughout my 3.5 years there. I have experienced questionable professors and staff who are obviously there for the paycheck. On the other end, I have met 2x as many INCREDIBLE staff and faculty throughout my time at Stanbridge. People need to understand that this is still a relatively new program and it's still working through a lot of adjustments both within the programs itself, how they handle students, and how they handle staff. But with being new comes an advantage to incoming students because with the help of the right people and resources, there is flexibility and grace that comes with a class or a term that possibly end in a fluke (I.e. bad professors, missing classes due to extreme circumstances, etc.). I understand this is not everyone's experience, but I HAVE seen multiple times where the school does work with students to properly evaluate their knowledge of a subject a second time if there is overwhelming evidence showing it was not properly done the first time. It also is dependent on how an issue is communicated as well. Any nursing program out there is hard and rigorous. Stanbridge is not unique to this. I can confidently say that I went in to the NCLEX feeling so prepared because of how this school preps you. If you follow testing strategies and work closely with the coaches at the end of the program YOU. WILL. PASS. From Term 1 Stanbridge works with students not just on building testing stamina but building testing stamina while sleep deprived. It's not officially an actual thing. They always told us to be well rested and to eat before but, the reality of any nursing program is adequate sleep is simply not possible. You just have to get through each term and pass. Keep moving even if you have a set back, do your best to not stop. I have no idea how many times I thought to myself that I will more than likely not remember anything after the program and I questioned if I really actually learned anything. I have been an ER nurse for almost 7 months now. Every moment of feeling competent, confident, and proud to be a nurse I owe to Stanbridge. While most of my peers in my new grad program have forgotten a lot of basics and high priorities, I am one of the few who still remembers and I am so thankful. I had zero medical background coming into the program. My science gpa at a 3.5 was not competitive enough for CCs, UCs, or CSUs to see me as a priority candidate for their RN program. Stanbridge was the first school to take a chance on me and invest in me. Before Stanbridge I was never the student who was picked for scholarships, awards, or special internships. The last 2 years at Stanbridge I received scholarships every term, was selected for Student Hospital Fellowship, received the Presidential Service Award, and ended the program with the Thomas Fuentes Service Award. This was all because ONE staff member encouraged me to apply each time an opportunity was sent out. The Stanbridge experience is truly what YOU choose to make it. I have met some amazing people with incredible hearts at this school. I loved that I don't need to hike or walk a mile to get to class. I loved that I only needed to be on the ground once or twice a week. Nursing school was THE hardest thing I have ever done. I gave up my entire life for 3 years just to eat, live, breathe, and sleep nursing. You can ensure your success in this program if you want this more than anything else. There will be times where you have to pick school over your family and it sucks. But being on the other side now, it is SO worth it and now I have the rest of my life. My husband is currently in the program now and is in term 4 at the OC campus. He hasn't been in school full time in over 10 years and he is doing amazing. I'm proud to be a nurse and I'm proud to be a Stanbridge Alum. The cost for tuition is pretty steep. If you have a good tribe behind you and can afford to not work during the program, I highly recommend it!

A huge shoutout to our program director, Dr. Vu, who went above and beyond to make sure we were prepared for the NBCOT. You can tell she genuinely cares about her students' success and puts in the effort to guide and support everyone throughout the program. All of my professors also played a big role in my journey. Professor Estoque had this really warm, motherly/older sister kind of energy that made you feel supported and comfortable, especially during stressful times. Professor Hintay had a calm and steady presence that made the class feel grounded. She explained things clearly and helped break down more complex topics in a way that felt manageable. Dr. Lim was kind but pushed us to really understand the material on a deeper level, which made a big difference in our learning. Professor Oh was newer to the program, but you could really see the effort he put into improving and growing as an instructor. Professor Son was fun and funny but she also challenged us in a good way. She held us to a high standard, but it ultimately helped us become more confident and prepared. She took on both roles as our instructor and fieldwork coordinator, and she handled both incredibly well. She was organized, supportive, and played a big role in helping us transition into our clinical experiences. All the professors were knowledgeable, supportive, and always willing to help when things got tough. You can really feel that they want you to succeed, not just pass. One of the best parts of my experience was the friendships I made and the extra activities we got to be a part of. Whether it was volunteering or just participating in school events, those moments made everything more fun and created memories I'll always carry with me. Overall, I'm grateful for my experience at ACC. Going back to school was one of the best decisions I made, and I feel confident stepping into my career as a COTA because of the foundation I built here.

This review is for the RN IV refresher course…read more It's not worth it for $205. There are limited mannequins, outdated supplies, and the class was overpacked. There were not enough chairs or even tables to sit at. The class instructor Jayne does a good job at breaking everything down and making it simple to understand the basic concept of different IV fluids, indications, complications, etc. I would say this class is better for LVNs or new grads. My constructive criticism is regarding her terrible attitude towards some of her students. She even mocked a student in front of the class asking a question that was completely valid. She repeated the question back to him and just started laughing in front of everyone. Then, when it was my turn to insert an IV, I got blood return and successfully inserted the IV despite being incorrectly told that I wasn't in the vein. Luckily I didn't listen, and proceeded to float the catheter into the vein. At this point, turn around to hear Jayne from across the room yelling at me "NO, NO, NO, NO!!!".... to which I replied, "um, what?" She then proceeded to yell at me for placing pressure above the insertion site while reaching for the connection tubing, so that blood wouldn't squirt out. I had no problem with telling her that I would appreciate legitimate feedback, not her yelling "no" multiple times at me from across the room. I also could have done without the lengthy tangents she went on, which I felt took away from the content of the class. She ranted about her kids and their IQ (of all things) for a solid 10 minutes, at which point I looked around and noticed that half of the class was on their phones or nodding off from boredom. Do yourself a favor and go spend your $205 at a facility with updated equipment, enough seats, and an instructor who respects their students and isn't burned out yawning throughout the entire class. I genuinely don't understand how this page has so many good reviews about her, unless she has really gone down hill in the last few months, or just had a really terrible night's sleep. Regardless, I will not be returning.
