This review is for the RN IV refresher course…read more It's not worth it for $205. There are limited mannequins, outdated supplies, and the class was overpacked. There were not enough chairs or even tables to sit at. The class instructor Jayne does a good job at breaking everything down and making it simple to understand the basic concept of different IV fluids, indications, complications, etc. I would say this class is better for LVNs or new grads. My constructive criticism is regarding her terrible attitude towards some of her students. She even mocked a student in front of the class asking a question that was completely valid. She repeated the question back to him and just started laughing in front of everyone. Then, when it was my turn to insert an IV, I got blood return and successfully inserted the IV despite being incorrectly told that I wasn't in the vein. Luckily I didn't listen, and proceeded to float the catheter into the vein. At this point, turn around to hear Jayne from across the room yelling at me "NO, NO, NO, NO!!!".... to which I replied, "um, what?" She then proceeded to yell at me for placing pressure above the insertion site while reaching for the connection tubing, so that blood wouldn't squirt out. I had no problem with telling her that I would appreciate legitimate feedback, not her yelling "no" multiple times at me from across the room. I also could have done without the lengthy tangents she went on, which I felt took away from the content of the class. She ranted about her kids and their IQ (of all things) for a solid 10 minutes, at which point I looked around and noticed that half of the class was on their phones or nodding off from boredom. Do yourself a favor and go spend your $205 at a facility with updated equipment, enough seats, and an instructor who respects their students and isn't burned out yawning throughout the entire class. I genuinely don't understand how this page has so many good reviews about her, unless she has really gone down hill in the last few months, or just had a really terrible night's sleep. Regardless, I will not be returning.

Had a really great experience at the Santa Ana College GradCon today at Santa Ana College! The…read moreevent was from 11am-1pm and everything felt very organized from the moment we arrived. They had different check-in tables for EOP students, high school students, and students receiving certificates and associate degrees, which made the process smooth and easy to follow. The main reason I went was to pick up my cap and gown bundle through the bookstore, and even though the line was long, it moved pretty fast because there were several staff members helping distribute packages and answer questions. I got the bundle with the cap, gown, tassel, rope, and frame, so I was happy to get everything taken care of in one place. They also had food from Taqueria De Anda, which was a nice surprise! You could choose between three street tacos or a burrito, and the taco plates came with rice and beans. There were different meat options like carne asada, chicken, al pastor, and carnitas. One of the coolest parts was the photographers doing 360 videos for students. They also had teachers celebrating us with confetti and a live band performing, which made it feel festive and special. I did arrive around 11:40 and unfortunately the swag bags were already gone, which was a little disappointing, but overall the experience was still worth it. It was such a fun way to celebrate our accomplishments and get everyone excited for commencement!

Why am I doing full-time project management for the staff? What are these people even getting paid for?? The curriculum is scattered, the instructor is constantly distracted with her midwife job and checking her phone during class, and at one point she didn't even realize she hadn't shared the venipuncture video before sending us into lab. On October 1st, she didn't show up at all, and another person, Linnea, "taught" us by reading directly off a slideshow, giving unclear or incorrect answers, and providing no real guidance in lab. In lab, I personally witnessed unsafe practices: being told to draw from a swollen site after already being instructed not to, the instructor palpating after the site had already been cleaned, lack of proper tourniquet disinfection, improper PPE use, and students reusing contaminated equipment. Even the parking lot felt unsafe. A woman filmed me while I was arriving. Linnea herself has admitted she feels unsafe at this location, told us to park in a better-lit area, and even said she's afraid of someone "popping out of the bushes." When I told her about the incident of being filmed, she grabbed her keys and asked me to point out where the person went. I told her where but said it wasn't worth my energy or safety to confront the individual. Her response was "it's worth my time" and she quickly went upstairs. I stayed downstairs because I was not comfortable or safe confronting someone who had just been recording me in my car. After three days, I decided to withdraw. I sent a formal email requesting a refund (which the school's own staff confirmed I am entitled to within the time frame). Instead of addressing my email, Linnea left me a voicemail saying she found out I dropped "through the internet," which is unprofessional. She obviously received a notification that they got a one-star Yelp review, and the level of unprofessionalism is only being exacerbated by her response. This program is not safe, not professional, and not a place where students can truly learn. I cannot recommend it to anyone.

He kind of just threw you into it and read off the slides that were given to him by the couple running the school. Brian and Lin were not much help with resume building and job placement. Every time I asked for help they referred me to websites that make resumes for you. Not helpful. I think they only have one connection for externships that is all the way in Mission Viejo. If you are going to do a program, I suggest you go to a school that actually cares about their students and outcome after the program is finished. I felt like time and time again they gave me the run around and were not actually helpful at all. I wish I would have done my research better. This program might have been great at one point in time, but it definitely fell off. My cousin went to a school in Santa Ana, AUMT Institute that definitely cared for their students and wanted to see them succeed. I am not trying to be mean, I am being honest about my experience, find another school.

A huge shoutout to our program director, Dr. Vu, who went above and beyond to make sure we were prepared for the NBCOT. You can tell she genuinely cares about her students' success and puts in the effort to guide and support everyone throughout the program. All of my professors also played a big role in my journey. Professor Estoque had this really warm, motherly/older sister kind of energy that made you feel supported and comfortable, especially during stressful times. Professor Hintay had a calm and steady presence that made the class feel grounded. She explained things clearly and helped break down more complex topics in a way that felt manageable. Dr. Lim was kind but pushed us to really understand the material on a deeper level, which made a big difference in our learning. Professor Oh was newer to the program, but you could really see the effort he put into improving and growing as an instructor. Professor Son was fun and funny but she also challenged us in a good way. She held us to a high standard, but it ultimately helped us become more confident and prepared. She took on both roles as our instructor and fieldwork coordinator, and she handled both incredibly well. She was organized, supportive, and played a big role in helping us transition into our clinical experiences. All the professors were knowledgeable, supportive, and always willing to help when things got tough. You can really feel that they want you to succeed, not just pass. One of the best parts of my experience was the friendships I made and the extra activities we got to be a part of. Whether it was volunteering or just participating in school events, those moments made everything more fun and created memories I'll always carry with me. I completed my IV certification through this school, and unfortunately my experience has been very…read morefrustrating and disorganized from start to finish. During the course, there were multiple last-minute changes, including in-person skills days being rescheduled the night before, which made it difficult to plan and take the program seriously. After completing the program, I submitted my LVN license on April 27 and requested that my certification be sent and posted to the Department of Consumer Affairs (Breeze) as required for employment. I received no response. I followed up again the next day and still received no reply. Because of this delay, I have already been denied multiple job opportunities since employers require the certification to be visible on Breeze. Only after multiple follow-ups did I finally receive my certificate, but it still has not been posted on the DCA website, which continues to impact my ability to secure a job. The lack of communication and delayed processing is unacceptable, especially when students are relying on timely certification for employment. This experience has cost me real job opportunities. I would strongly advise future students to consider other programs that are more organized and responsive. Also, I have an email stating that this was a three day course, I asked for the days off, and I already referred many people and paid, during the first day of class I was told this was a 4 day course and had to call out of work. I was also charged two times for this course and asked for a refund and received no reply, I had to open up a dispute with my bank. This school is very unorganized and they overbooked our class.
