Mike and Eugene of Geneva Shirts have been making my shirts for 20+ years. Quite simply, they are the best shirts available for the money. Their shirts fit perfectly, are well constructed and hold up very well. My launderers have commented how well constructed these shirts are and I'm constantly complimented how nice they look. In 2006, I went to Geneva after a sub-par experience at another customer suit/shirt maker. I have been a loyal customer ever since. In my mind, Mike (and his son Eugene) make some of the finest dress shirts in Manhattan. They are shirtmakers by profession (no suits/pyjamas), a paper pattern is cut for each customer (bespoke) and everything is made here at their shop on 32nd St. That means quick turnaround, quick adjustments (Mike once switched a french cuff for a 2-button at no charge) and limited hassle. The craftmanship and quality of the shirts are excellent and remarkably consistent. Every shirt looks/feels the same, whether they were made in 2007 or 2011. Overtime, I have received countless compliments on my shirts. The shop itself is incredibly modest, reflecting Mike and Eugene's modest personalities. No fancy showroom or salespeople here; just a shirtmarking factory. Mike also counts as customers some of the leading TV and political personalities (by the pictures hanged on his wall). I've been a customer of Geneva's for several years and I only wish I had found them sooner. After many years of experimenting with off-the-rack dress shirts with horrible fits and terrible shrinkage, I decided to go custom. However, the shirts I initially had made were made from a template and outsourced to a factory only to come back with an ill-fitting fused collar that also shrunk. I thought I was never going to find a truly custom shirt in the city, and then after scouring the internet, I found Geneva and haven't looked back. Call and make an appointment to see Eugene. Be prepared to spend a few minutes getting sized up the proper way. His dad Mike will whip up a template and a sample shirt and when you come back to try it on, they'll make any adjustments you need. Once your pattern is set, it's off to the races and the sky is the limit. The initial fit was and still is perfect. I have some shirts that have lasted 5+ years and I wear a shirt and tie on a daily basis and abuse my clothes. While the shirts last a long time, I tend to go back in for more to expand my wardrobe and keep a large rotation. The shirt will cost more than a nice off the rack shirt, and maybe more than some other "custom" options out there. But these shirts are well worth it. The stitching, quality, and durability are all top notch. The service is terrific. I get many compliments on my shirts, most of which are basic colors, but the quality and fit is clearly noticable. It's one of those things in life where price is what you pay, but value is what you get. read more

I've been coming to Geneva for over 10 years now, and couldn't be more pleased. The workmanship is great, Mike (the owner) has incredible patience in dealing with picky customers like me to get the fit just right, and he has more fabrics to choose from than you could imagine. As for prices, yes, the shirts aren't inexpensive, but you'd pay way more --for less quality--elsewhere. And their shirts are true custom, not the "cut and paste" job you get from some other places purporting to be custom. I followed Geneva from their old digs on 32nd St, to their new location on 55th--and I'd follow them anywhere. Mike at Geneva treated me well when it was down in koreatown. He explained the basics behind his shirt, considerations he took with my neck and arms, did a mockup, and made multiple adjustments. He's my go to guy. I'm glad that they moved uptown. Now if only I didn't move out to the West Coast. read more

In my mind, Geneva is one of a handfull of true custom shirtmakers in New York (along with T&A, Ascot Chang and Paris - places like Lord Willy, Proper Cloth, Michael Andrews etc. hardly qualify). After dabbling with a few of Jermyn Street's finest and remaining unimpressed, I discovered Geneva's shabby-looking operation in Koreatown. Don't let the look of the joint fool you - there are real bespoke shirts being made here and they have little time or inclination towards pretense. By bespoke I mean a custom pattern is drafted and cut by Mike, a test shirt is fitted several times before your order proceeds, and everything is made on-site (nothing is outsourced to HK or South America or the like). Fabrics from every major mill (Alumo, Mason, Monti, SIC Tess etc.) are easily available, and turnaround is about 5-6 weeks. Its not cheap, but these rank amongst the finest custom shirts in the country. Highly recommended. read more
