Brought my new suit to this place for a rush order, because I needed it for an event the afternoon of the next day. They told me the suit will be ready at 12, so I picked it up at 12 and hurried home to change, that was when I found out the suit is not finished. I contacted them, and they apologized and agreed to finish the suit. After I got the suit back the second time, I guess the suit is finished, but the quality is absolutely terrible, and they would not give me partial refund for not finishing the suit on time (which was the sole reason I paid 500 dollars for this, if I didn't need it the next day, I wouldn't pay that much for sure). This place cannot deliver their promise and the quality of service is not acceptable, especially for this crazy price. read more

Sam is one of the best tailors in NYC. My husband and I were married in May, and he did a custom 3-piece suit for my husband as well as altering my two dresses. I bought 2 dresses at a sample sale at Kleinfield's, and both needed adjustments. One more so than the other. Sam took the original dress and essentially re-made into a different dress that fit my vision, which was not easy by any means. The dress didn't entirely fit as well and I was very nervous I made a mistake buying the dress. Sam is extremely detail-orientated, and wants everything for his clients to be perfect. I went to Sam Wazin when I needed a new suit tailored because he's one of the most highly recommended alternations tailors in NYC. He charges a price to match, which would be worth it if I got work that matched the recommendations. Unfortunately for me, I didn't. An assistant of his spent a few minutes measuring me up and then I picked the suit after a few days. I should've tried it on for fit immediately, but I was in a hurry and didn't try it on until I was at a wedding, at which point I noticed the sleeve length was totally wrong (way too long, down to my fingers), the alterations to take in the waist weren't nearly enough, making it look extremely baggy, and the shoulder / upper back area was a real mess, with it being very wrinkly when I stood in a neutral position. If I dropped my suit off at a dry cleaner's to have it altered for $40, I wouldn't complain, but I paid Sam Wazin $218 and he made a mess of a new suit. read more

I did not know what to expect when I arrived. All that mattered to me was that I get this dress tailored as quickly as possible. I am now SO thankful to have discovered Wazin and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for professional and trustworthy tailoring... My best friend was getting married this past weekend with two special ceremonies on different days (a Nikah and Cameroonian ceremony). I got a dress for the Nikah ceremony a long time ago but didn't know that the Cameroonian had a specific colorful and formal dress code until two weeks before the event...and I'm the maid of honor! He even suggested putting in a built-in bra into the bodice so I wouldn't have to use a strapless bra when wearing the dress (Ladies, DO IT. It was such a great suggestion). He was very honest with his opinions and helped show me where things should be cut and to what length. It was such a relief and surprise to find that my dress was ready the very next day. If you're looking for a magnificent tailor, then you've found him with Sam. I had bought a few nice suits that had to be tailored and I did some searching on Google and Yelp. After going through a lot, I decided to go with Sam based on the reviews that I'd read. I went there with two suits and he was great. He asked me what I was looking for and also gave me different options to choose from. For example, for my pants cuff, he said I could make it more formal or more casual. He asked for the type of look I wanted in my suit. I was happy that he gave me options and his recommendations instead of just dictating what it should be. He worked fast and efficient but never rushed. I probably took a little longer in the changing room but I never felt rushed at all. I needed my two suits for a photoshoot and he was very accommodating to making sure he got them done in time. When I went to pick up my suits, he had me try them on to make sure it looked and fitted well, and that I was also happy with his work. I was happy with his craftsmanship, and I had been going on a bit of a suit shopping spree, so I gave him two more suits to tailor after the original two. Overall, I was happy with Sam's attention to detail, craftsmanship, and the overall experience. Not going to get into the details, but do not go for Indian bridal lehengas, there are better options in the city for a much better price. They will do the bare minimum here and charge you way over price. We paid $1600 for two dresses and the end result was mediocre at best. If it's for your Indian wedding dresses, don't do it. Nice people I'm sure, but overpriced and unwilling to find the right solutions. This is probably a fine spot for smaller jobs or American dresses, but not lehengas or complicated outfits - tho they will try to convince you otherwise. They try to create shortcuts instead of properly fixing the garment. Which, if i only paid a few hundred dollars, would be fine, but we paid so much and expected much better. read more

Brought over a $2000 Paul Smith suit to have the sleeves shortened and the trousers tailored. Waited over 2.5weeks to get them back only to whined up leaving them for another two weeks. Pants were not properly done. Suit jacket sleeves way too short. Sam took them back and said all will be fixed. Unfortunately this was not the case. The work was not properly done. You can see from the photos. Where the sleeve meets the shoulder should not be so wrinkled, it should be a nice clean finish. There was even extra loose thread sticking out. Over a month pasted since I first brought in the suit. I just took it elsewhere and that tailor agreed the work was not properly done. Over $200 down the drain. I cannot recommend Sam highly enough. I went to Sam with my wedding dress, with just a few weeks to go until the wedding, after the first tailor I used did a dissatisfactory job taking in my dress. I had purchased a dress a few sizes too big at a sample sale. Every tailor I went to said it was a tricky dress as the top had boning, embroidery, and applique work, and the bottom was a very unforgiving silk crepe. It was honestly such a relief to leave the dress with him because I knew I could trust him to do a great job. It really gave me such peace of mind. Sam not only took in the dress (which at that point was all I thought was doable), he also managed to magically adjust the severe gapping happening on the back of the dress. I bought a suit that need tailoring. I did a quick search on Yelp and found Wazin, they had great reviews! I called and were available immediately. I stopped by within the hour of calling. Sam took my measurements, made two recommendations as far as tailoring options. I chose and he said it would be available in a few days.
