Clean, modern interior. Lots of glasses for adults and kids
    Shilpa H.

TL;DR - Only came here to order glasses. Great option if you have VSP insurance. Carries a large number of popular brands at reasonable prices. After visiting 16 offices, I finally found frames that fit my small face, in the color and style I wanted. The optician was kind, patient, and helpful, even on the last day of the year when people are scrambling to use benefits. Great customer service! Note: This is a review of my experience purchasing glasses with the optician. I am not a patient at this office and have not seen any of the providers. I kid you not. I went to 16... sixteen (!!) optometry offices in the last few days looking for glasses that fit my small/narrow face. I'm in between kids and adult sizes, so it's always been tough finding glasses in the size, style, and color I want. On the LAST day of the year (before my insurance benefits were expiring), I was scrambling to find glasses. I had just come from another office where the staff were impatient and unhelpful, so I was about to give up. Enter Geneva Eye Care! This practice is a great option if you have VSP vision insurance because they are one of the "premier program" providers, meaning your benefits go farther here. VSP provides higher coverage on featured frame brands, and Geneva has a whopping 17 featured brands, which is higher than most premier providers on the VSP site. I can't speak to how easy it is to schedule appointments, but it's nice that they're open late (6pm) and on Saturdays. I arrived around 11am on a Friday. The office is on a fairly busy street. There is limited meter parking nearby, so you may want to park on one of the smaller adjacent streets. The place is clean and modern. I was greeted by the optician named Marvelle (spelling?) when I entered. She was helping someone else, so she allowed me to try on glasses while I waited to be assisted. Other offices I had been to do not allow this. Some even require you to have an appointment to see an optician. So I was relieved to find that the rules are more relaxed here. As I was browsing, I was struck by the variety of brands and styles they have. Most practices I went to only carry a few select brands, many of which don't work for my face. So this was a pleasant surprise. Some brands they carry: Altair, bebe, Calvin Klein, Dragon, Flexon, Nike, Spyder, Anne Klein, Cole Haan, Kate Spade, Chloe, Draper James, KLiik (great for small faces), Salvatore Ferragamo, Ray Ban, Gucci, Jimmy Choo, Eternal Glamour.. the list goes on. They also have lots of styles for Asian faces. Also, pricing is reasonable! The same Gucci glasses I tried at a couple of offices in San Jose and San Francisco were over $400 but at Geneva they were closer to $370. So you might save money here if you are looking for designer glasses. Once the optician was free, she immediately and enthusiastically offered her assistance. She was kind, patient, and resourceful. She would tell me if something was too big or small on my face. She offered helpful recommendations on brands that fit my taste. She looked up options on the computer and was happy to call customer service for various brands to see what they carry. Overall, stellar customer service. Once I (finally) found frames I liked, she sat me down, printed out my VSP benefits, and patiently walked me through ALL my options and what it would cost. She went above and beyond to make sure I understood every detail of my plan -- amazing! I was told it would take 3 weeks for my glasses to come in. Overall, it was a smooth, comfortable, and pleasant first visit!

Work Safety Glasses: progressive, transition, anti glare, Fully Loaded premium quality!

However a customer at the window had an issue which created a bottleneck. After I was leaving the line was 10 people deep in a matter of minutes. That's life. There's a bin at the pharmacy area where you can drop off old medication. A month ago it was full. Today the same sign stating bin full. I guess folks can take their old medication to the local police station to drop off. There is a parking lot adjacent to the building. When I left three cars were coming in for the one available parking space which was mine. As with many businesses, lots of merchandise under lock and key. Ring for service.

I saw a sale promotion and bought two Sprite Zero bottles. In seeing the sign, I mentioned it to the cashier as I paid how sad this news is. I've stopped here a number of times over the years and I believe my brother got his COVID shot here when it first came out. It is tragic what crime and COVID did the neighborhood businesses like this. I hope they reopen at some point in the future here or in another nearby location. With it being less than a week away, I'd like to thank the managers and staff here who provided a good shopping spot for the community for so many years. You will be dearly missed.

My sister was in an assisted nursing care facility for 6 months, and the thought of her continuing to reside in a similar environment was heartbreaking. While there, the numerous and almost monthly visits to the ER due to UTIs, inadequate doctor and care oversite, lack of consistent and timely drug and therapy services was truly unacceptable for her health. My sister is now living with my family in our home, and CrossRoads has allowed us to find an alternative path to her care along with using other support teams. From CrossRoads, we received scheduled physical, occupational and nursing services. Their exceptional services have allowed my sister to remain in a home environment and us to build a secure loving environment for her long-term care. I have used other home care services, and would consistently request for CrossRoads services. Her medical needs are addressed by a caring, effective, reliable, proactive and incredible staff at CrossRoads. I could not have asked for a better team to help with this unprecedented emotional and physical challenge my family has undertaken. Our physical therapist Jason, engages, motivates and physically prepares my sister for mobility and flexibility and encourages her to maintain and maximize her existing mobility. My sister enjoys their conversations. He is responsive, consistent and timely. We could not have asked for a better partner in providing the physical and emotional support my sister and my family require. He is simply the best and anyone would be lucky to have him on their team. I worked with Shanel, nurse and case manager, for both my mother's and sister's home care. She is incredibly responsive and experienced in addressing the medical needs that arise. She is proactive in recommending solutions and next steps, all of which provides assurance that as medical needs arise, they will be addressed immediately. Shanel de-escalates the stress and uncertainty surrounding medical situations. Shanel provides the confidence that home care is a viable and very workable situation in partnering with my sister's medical team. It's very obvious that Shanel enjoys her work and patients, and truly focuses on the customers' needs. When my sister arrived at our home, Sabrina, Occupational Therapist, immediately identified tools, equipment and recommendations that provided additional comfort to my sister and to our family and support caregivers in mitigating our physical demands. She was incredibly efficient and facilitated accommodating our needs immediately with her experience and resources. I feel our sister received the best care from Sabrina and CrossRoads in tailoring our home as effectively as possible in maximizing my sister's care. Equally important as the effective direct skills of the CrossRoads staff, is the intangible support they provide my sister and to us. We don't feel alone in caregiving, many times a heartbreaking process. We feel there is an incredible team available to support the care of my sister. My sister is engaged and enjoys interacting with the entire staff providing for good moments.

On a Thursday, I asked for a prescription refill and got an email acknowledgement that day. On each of the following Saturday, Tuesday and Wednesday I got texts saying it was out of stock and should be in soon. On Friday I went online to check and the order had disappeared and it said that I was able to refill the prescription. When I called the pharmacy, they offered no explanation and started the process again for me. By Saturday, that order had also reverted to 'ready for a refill', so the next Monday, I had my doctor send the prescription to another pharmacy where I was able to pick it up three days later after that pharmacy had actually ordered the med. This was not actually the first time that CVS has just dropped a prescription without telling me. So, now, CVS is not the preferred pharmacy for me but the one that I cannot even trust with my prescriptions. This is all a reflection on CVS and not at the people who work at the Portola store

As a result, I had to drive all the way back to the pharmacy to receive the correct paperwork and medication information. The second incident was even more frustrating. After noticing that I had been given the wrong medication, I brought it to the attention of the pharmacist trainee assisting me. Instead of investigating the issue, she immediately insisted that I was mistaken and responded with an unprofessional attitude. I pulled up my prescription history to show that the medication did not match what had previously been prescribed to me, but she dismissed my concerns by stating that the medication was "no longer in the system." Because of a knee injury, standing for extended periods is difficult for me, yet I waited for approximately 10 minutes while she handled other tasks before confirming that the incorrect medication had been removed and that the issue had been resolved. She eventually returned and asked if I needed anything else, despite the fact that I was still waiting for a simple confirmation that the correction had been made. Unfortunately, I do not remember the pharmacist trainee's name. She was a young female employee whose badge indicated that she was still in school, and this interaction occurred on 7/10. Mistakes can happen, but patient safety and customer service should always be priorities. Giving a patient another person's medication information is a serious issue, and dismissing concerns when a patient points out a potential error only makes the situation worse. I hope additional training and improvements are made to prevent similar experiences for others.
