The people are very helpful and patient. They helped me pick the paint and find a painter.

They carry sign painters paint. Excellent selection. The store is nicely organized, and the staff is very helpful.

You'll more than likely be dealing with one of the owners when you need some help finding a part or figuring out a problem, and they'll help you until things are all figured out. Ed remembers just about everyone's name, and he can recollect all your household projects for years to come as he asks how they turned out or are holding up. Could not find a better place to solve household problems in this day and age.

The first omen was seeing a man with no mask on. There is a state requirement about masks.. If you are going to post signs about wearing a mask, enforce it! No one was at the paint department, so the woman at the check-out register announced on the P.A. for assistance at the paint department. After waiting 10 minutes, I left. And the store was not busy at all! I had planned to buy the items on my long list while the paint was being mixed. I doubt if I'll go back. This used to be one of my favorite stores. It seemed like there were always friendly, usually older, men ready to assist or answer any questions. It's changed. And not for the better.

During my time as a cashier, I was more than just someone who rang up transactions--I built relationships with customers, made them feel valued, and went beyond my job description daily. Whether it was helping a struggling customer, looking out for the remodel crew, or creating a welcoming atmosphere that brought people back, I made an impact. And yet, management chose to dismiss that value. I was denied basic breaks due to staffing shortages while others received preferential treatment. I witnessed a culture that encouraged complacency and protected incompetence while disregarding those who actually did the work. When I advocated for myself, I was met with condescension rather than appreciation. Now, with two locations severely understaffed, I'm curious--who will step up? Who will bring the heart and dedication that I, and others like me, brought every single day? I am a Military Veteran, honored with an Army Achievement Medal, a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and a NATO Medal. I am a graduate of Alverno College, multilingual, and have years of customer service and teaching experience. I am also someone who genuinely cares about people and the community. But despite all that, Ace Burlington would rather overlook real value to focus on people who do not contribute where it matters most--inside the stores, connecting with the communities that keep Ace alive. Ace prides itself on being "The Helpful Place," but when management fails to respect and retain its best employees, what kind of help is actually being provided? I hope corporate starts paying closer attention before more dedicated, hardworking employees walk out the door--taking the true magic of the store with them.

There's over 1 million tulips planted, and there were plenty of photo ops throughout. I also love that the tulips were planted in the shape of a butterfly this year, but wish there was some way to see it from above. :( For $20 you get access to their tulip field and one u-pick tulip is included. You can purchase more tulips for $2 each if you want to pick more. Dogs are also allowed and are free to enter, but if your dog is prone to chewing on/eating flowers, maybe leave your dog home (tulips are toxic for dogs, mostly the bulbs which are underground). There are a few food trucks and lawn games to play as well. We tried the blended java chip coffee and kettle corn. The kettle corn was really good. We only spent about an hour here because there's not much else to really do.

I like to sign up for unique 5K courses, so I was super excited for this one. At 6am during the day of the 5K, I got a sad email saying the course has switched to the farm course for everyone who signed up for the corn maze course due to the corn maze being muddy and unsafe or something. But at least the 5K was still happened. The farm course was meh. It was muddy as well but at least it was wide dirt roads. For anyone considering going in the future, I suggest definitely going for the corn maze course instead because I imagine the farm course is meh even when it's dry. The gift shop was open for runners super early to shelter and grab some snacks, souvenirs, and bathroom breaks. The apple cider donuts are great, but only comes in half dozen.
