Horrible experience with Breezy Hill. Had a landscaping project done last year by a professional…read morecontractor. Chose Breezy Hill for the perennials due to proximity to my home in Salem Lakes. Spent over $1,000 on a variety of rose bushes, shrubs, etc. Landscapers planted them, installed the weed barrier, and landscaping stones as is customary last July. Everything looked great and I was a happy camper for a few months. 2026 rolls around, and nearly half the perennials that we purchased were completely dead. They did not survive the winter. I took pictures, emailed Pam at Breezy Hill to see what they could do. Here is her response: Hi Mike, Thanks for sending these pictures. As you know we do not warranty cash & carry items and actually never warranted Perennials at all. We are confident they are healthy when they leave our care since we are all gardeners here, but overwintering is our biggest challenge with our very volatile and extreme temperature fluctuations. The way to ensure best results for this is to remove all stone from their vicinity and mulch instead, which moderates and insulates temperature and moisture for our plants, much as would occur in nature with plant debris forming the mulch layer. Stone does the opposite of this causing even worse fluctuations while also cutting off oxygen and sometimes water to the roots. If there is landscape fabric under the stone that should also be removed since that makes even worse conditions for the plants, e.g. no oxygen or water to the roots, sours and compacts the soil. I'm here to help with more suggestions any time today, July 4 until 7:00, July 5 10-4:00, July 6 after about 2:00-7, July 7 9-6. Thanks, Pam No offer to refund or replace even a portion of the plants, no offer to sell replacements at her cost or at a discount, NOTHING. Needless to say, I won't ever be going back, and I live just around the corner. Do not recommend.

Jenna was the only florist I interviewed due to her professionalism and helpfulness during our first meeting. My wedding went from a formal dinner to a small 65 person wedding. Jenna didn't skip a beat throughout the entire process. She not only helped with my flower design, but also may chairs/linens/chargers. We clicked immediately and I can't thank her enough for transforming my day into something magical with her talent. Anyone who says flowers don't matter at a wedding haven't hired Avant Gardenia! Thank you so much!

I'm so glad my planner introduced me to Avant Gardenia. From the moment I met Jenna, I felt like…read moreshe was someone who understood my vision, likes and dislikes and could transform them from concepts into reality, someone who could create a tasteful rendition within our budget. Our decor sample was great. Both Jenna and my planner worked with our schedules since I was in my final year of medical school and my now husband was in business school. Jenna got up at the crack of dawn (probably earlier, honestly) to get to our location early and sort and prepare everything for us. I literally had no changes to make to any of her work, and I could trust her for her thoughts on our tablecloths that went with the rest of her work. I was a little worried it might seem like I didn't care, since I literally had nothing to change with her flowers, but honestly it was just that beautiful a representation of our ideas for the day. My bouquet was absolutely stunning, by all accounts. I'm not one of those people who dreamt of their wedding day growing up. But one thing I did know growing up is that I love orchids. I have family in Hawaii and would visit them regularly each year, and every year I just fell more and more in love with the orchids around us. Dendrobium, Phalaenopsis, Cymbidium, didn't matter, I love it all. And when I first met Jenna I told her that. Her orchid bouquet for me was the most perfect one possible for me: simple, delicate and classic, yet luxurious and lush all at the same time. The flower wands and bouquets for the bridesmaids were also flawless interpretations of my vision. Our site didn't allow flower petals to be thrown. Given the ages of our four flower girls (3-5), we decided wands would be the best thing for them to hold. They were darling. The bridesmaids bouquets were truly gorgeous, and with barely any discussion or input necessary from me going into that final decision. I just trusted her to create something magical that I would love, and she did, all on her own. Last but not least, I wanted the flowers after the big day to go somewhere to be appreciated by people and mentioned it to my planner, who reassured me that Jenna always takes care of that. What seamless work. I think being able to trust your team and their taste and ability to execute is how you get their best work. If they're excited about what they do, it shows. Jenna is someone who clearly loves her work, was very thrilled about our wedding, and it showed in every beautiful bloom and blossom her magical fingers touched. Thank you again for your expertise, your class and your thoroughness in creating our decor!!

After a couple of weeks, my sister asked me if we received the plant. We did not. My sister called her florist in Racine, who arranged the delivery through Jodi's Floral in Elkhorn. The florist in Racine had already been charged for it. The Racine florist attempted to call Jodi's, but no one answered. Messages were left for Jodi and no call backs were received. I never got the plant, and the money was finally refunded back to the original florist and ultimately, my sister, once the Racine florist filed a complaint with the FTD.
