Is it too cheesy to say that I found "the one" dress wise at Mira? Then I am cheesy! ;) In October 2020, I went to different stores with my mom to find a bridal gown. Once I arrived at Mira, I went through the familiar motions and began my dress search - like many brides, with some hope and some nerves. I saw THE ONE and, with a few others, tried it on. This one stood out - Martina Liana, style 999. It is flattering and seemed, even before alterations, to highlight what I wanted to highlight and diminish everything else. The ensuing alterations process was guided by the wonderful Khrystyna. The fact that I now won't get to see her often is actually sad! She has been nothing but kind and helpful to me as I've had things added and changed with my dress. When I postponed my wedding from July to October 2021, Mira was quick to note the change and didn't bat an eye. They were always very communicative with my mom and me, and we never had to hunt them down, as is the case with other bridal shops. Even amid various emotional ups and downs, Khrystyna was there to be supportive and to troubleshoot (I am talking about things that seem quite trivial but, when under harsh lighting, seem to be a big deal!). It is a fabulous store with so many varieties of dresses, even beyond bridal gowns, and some jewelry too. It definitely deserves a visit on the hunt for a bridal gown in Chicago! read more

if you want dresses that are detail, drama, unique, and modern then mira is for you. it was unbeknownst to me that different shops have different aesthetics for dresses so you should do your research on the place before you visit. what i loved about mira is that on their website you get to see all the dresses they have. the appointment went very smoothly because i took a screenshot of my fave dresses, showed it to my lovely stylist julia i think? and we pulled those dresses and i tried them on. although i didn't find the dress here because of last minute plan changes, i definitely would have purchased it from here if plans on my end were different. the dress selection is beautiful, and everyone there was so sweet. this isn't the cheapest place to shop, so go if you have budget wiggle room. otherwise, i recommend. read more

Brooke at Mira Couture bridal boutique in Chicago is a rockstar--one of the most wonderful human beings one could meet and know, plus so highly talented in her field! From our first moments in the salon, Brooke's kind nature and loveliness all around shone bright. Brooke knew all the questions to ask in order to gather the appropriate information to help our daughter find the perfect wedding dress. While we pulled dresses from throughout the store (and at two other bridal salons as well), 25 dresses later, it was the dress that Brooke had chosen that was THE ONE. She knew because she is so smart and astute and great at her job. And that bridal gown was stunning and so perfect for our daughter; it was her dream dress for sure. She loved it so much, that she wore it a second time--to brunch the day after the wedding, just so that she could spend more time in it! It was awesome. I cringe to even write this review... made an appointment 2.5 weeks in advance to attend a very special trunk show and literally the day prior, I receive a call that they cannot accommodate my time and that the only thing possible is Friday morning. Since I work, that was not an option last minute and since it was a trunk show of the Designer that I am obsessed with, the Collection was only able to be seen over 2 days then would be shipped back to Spain so it was not as if I could reschedule for any other time. I then asked to send me photos of the dresses and if any were catching my eye, could they somehow get me in. They did that much but not suprisingly, yes there were two that looked absolutely gorgeous in the photos and could have been "the one", and when I asked to see if I could set time to just see those two, I was met with profuse appologies and excuses saying they simply cannot accommodate me even though they were the ones that caused the scheduling snaffu! This is supposed to be an enjoyable and special time, and frankly although the reviews seemed so positive by others, simply the fact that they were this careless and inconsiderate of me, this place would be the last dress shop I will ever step foot in. Clearly they mismanaged a situation... maybe they did me a favor - anything on Walton Street would come with an exorbinate price tag! I will find what I am looking for elsewhere. Most of the planning for my upcoming wedding has been pretty easy: Found my gorgeous Vera Wang dress in a day, booked the fabulous venue within 2 days, and the rest of the vendors within a week. Bridesmaids dresses were a bit tougher, but did manage to find some beautiful dresses- thanks to Jenny Yoo! But the mother-of-the-bride dress has NOT been as easy to find...my mom's looked everywhere from New York to Chicago to Florida to find that perfect dress that's not matronly, but doesn't show much cleavage. At 48 years old (i'm sure my mom would appreciate me sharing her age online :)) she's a lot younger than most mothers of the bride and her 5'1 petite frame doesn't help the situation either. To be honest she does call me about once a week claiming "I think I found my dress!", but soon changes her mind due to the color, cut, etc. I thought she was just being picky, but then I walked into Neimans, Saks, and many other stores to look at their selection of gowns- and there are some UGLY gowns at here! Note to any upcoming designer out there: there's a huge need for classic, yet stylish mother-of-the-bride dresses! While my mom was in town this weekend someone had mentioned she should check out Mira Couture. I walked in myself to check it out this morning and was so impressed by the beautiful dresses. I called my mom instantly and said "get over here right now and I think you'll find your dress!" Mira owns the shop and designs the dresses with a few other designers, one of them being Anna who was nice enough to help us today. The nice thing about these gorgeous dresses is that they are custom made so you can change the color, cut, etc of any of their beautiful dresses on the rack. Dresses seem to range from $2500- $5000 and while this may seem expensive it's reasonable next to some of the ugly gowns I've spotted in Neimans and Saks. And they really know their stuff! I started pulling a few gowns for my mom that I thought would look good on her, but as soon as she tried them on I realized I had failed. And then Anna took over and every dress she recommended for my mom's petite frame worked really well! I should also probably mention that they sell wedding dresses here as well. Many of them being Palazzo and many others being their own label....I was scared to look and fall in love with one after already ordering my dress, but fortunately I didn't think anything compared to my wedding dress. However, many other brides may absolutely love what they have. And you're probably wondering if my mom actually got a dress. Nope, which is probably why I'm going with 4 stars instead of 5. She did come very close to ordering one, but decided she likes a dress she recently found at Neimans instead. I think I prefer the Neimans dress as well, but I do think Mira Couture's overall selection for gowns is much better than any other store I've checked out...so definitely worth checking out if you're in the market for a gown! It really makes you feel like you're having your special princess moment. I fell in love with the first dress I saw on the hanger and tried on. I felt like an absolute goddess on my wedding day and I know it is massively due to the incredible wedding dress I got from Mira Couture. I got married in San Diego, and needed a wedding dress that would work for my coastal wedding. I had a vision of wearing gorgeous lace, but also having the dress be open enough for a West Coast wedding. I worked with Courtney at Mira Couture, and she was such a positive and happy person to help me find my dream dress! I found a Martina Liana wedding dress that was EVERYTHING I was looking for -- style, feel, texture, movement... it had a train to die for and little details that were perfect for photos and memories. I also was lucky enough to get the dress during a trunk sale and it was super affordable. The alterations were on the higher end but the dress did have a lot of lace to work with, and they added in dress weights and boning to help the structure. Mira Couture 1 E Delaware Pl., Mezzanine Floor, Chicago, IL 60611 Bridal Shop I had the most horrible experience with Mira Couture and Mira Couture alterations. I ordered my wedding dress in December 2017. My wedding was June 2018. I ended picking up the dress the day before my wedding, In tears because they messed up my dress. I went every Saturday since May and every week was a different excuse and a different promise. I was also never measured by the Same person. The sales girl apologized and told me they had gone through changes in staff. The dress was extremely tight on my back, no support and lose everywhere else. All I wanted was a wedding dress that fit to my body, looked tasteful and had support. I sent emails to them with pictures to try to correct it before my wedding date. They NEVER responded to my emails but would call me and made promises that I wish I would've gotten in writing. My wedding dress looked horrible and instead of switching out my dress or fixing it properly they tried convincing me that it was fine.. they hugged me and told me " these things happen" they told me I had to chose between support on the front or very distasteful spillage on my back,, imagine hearing this two days before your wedding. They should have led with this before I purchased my dress and convinced me to leave it there for alterations because they guarantee their work. I had to borrow a white dress from a friend since the wedding dress I purchased from Mira Couture fell apart. They ruined my wedding. I cried for two days, had the worst bags under my eyes but it was too late to find another wedding dress somewhere else. I went to so many places and they were in disbelief that Mira Couture did such a horrible job and didn't care enough to fix it. They also over charged me for the veil, it wasn't even the veil I chose on the receipt, However after showing them proof I gathered from on line, pictures, ect they did end up exchanging the veil. Their excuse was the tags got mixed up. So at least they owned up and fixed that part. I wish I had the same great experience these other brides had but it is what it is. Just make sure you get everything in writing and not just verbal promises. read more

Nothing against the dresses, they're just fine. In fact, all the consultants there are adamant that they can do anything custom-- they can change anything you're hoping to change, which is great! They have a wide selection of dresses, too. Some with beading (EXTENSIVE beading), some with lace, some with feathers... None of them really seemed to work for me, but that's not the reason for the 3-star rating. There are two reasons for that: 1) My consultant wasn't ready when we arrived. No big deal, since their model anyway is to let you wander the store and pick out which ones you want to try on. I'm really not a fan of this model... I have no idea what any of these dresses look like when they're actually on bodies! The consultant I was working with wasn't really able to make recommendations further than the ones we picked out to try on. 2) The biggest issue is the seating and the viewing area. They put everyone at a giant table, like a library, and put magazines in front of them. My friends got pretty engrossed in these, since it takes a little while to put on these dresses. It's not a great setup, and certainly doesn't work to make the bride feel too great. I don't need all attention to be focused on me at all times, but it doesn't feel too confidence-boosting to compete with a magazine for your best friends' attention! read more

Mira Couture is the place to look for a wedding dress. They just recently moved into a bigger space, so everything is so classy and spacious. They have a ton of dresses and the latest styles to choose from which is why I was so thankful to find my dress here. But most importantly I want to thank Addie because she helped me find "the dress". I had many consultants help me at different stores that were just 'meh'. So when I met Khrystyna I appreciated her creativity, humor, and honesty. AVOID AT ALL COST!!! They have taken my review down from theknot and others so hopefully this stays up so you can be warned. Mira and her team will rob you! I bought a beautiful gown for a wedding from her and was so excited, after leaving her store I googled the dress to find out she was charging double. I tried to get in contact with her that day to see if there was some mistake. They didn't answer their phones or respond to emails for days. When they finally responded the answer was "sorry, final sale." What really rubbed me the wrong way was that the dress wasn't even ready on time, due to COVID. You would think that they would take responsibility for not having it on time and issue a refund. I had to buy a dress elsewhere, last minute because of Mira, and they kept thousands of dollars. After the wedding they told me "it was ready, and I could come pick it up anytime, and needed to pay the remaining balance." Mira needs to understand that I've only been to a few black tie occasions in my life. And this is not a dress that I have another occasion to wear it to. Anyway huge warning to everyone, Mira will not deliver on time and then keep your deposit. They added way too much stress to the wedding, and this place is just slimy. I understand that businesses are struggling, but people are too and they shouldn't just take your money without delivering. read more

Mira has a nice collection of dresses but the worst customer service ever. The consultants are trying to force sell you clothes by telling that you have to buy now or else pay an expedited fee. That gave me so much anxiety. They dont even offer water if you dont ask for it. On my first appointment, the consultant made me wait 15 mins before coming to see me, and then wasnt even that helpful in finding a dress for me. It was my friend who picked out the dress. I did like the dress and went back to buy it even though my friend hated that place and was against it. Second time, the same thing, we waited for ~10 mins before anyone greeted us, and then the same rude service. I first felt like a bride when I tried on wedding dresses at Mira. It is a beautiful boutique with an exceptional collection and experienced staff. My first bridal appointment was at Mira. Lizzy of Mira suggested a few dresses for me to try on based on my style and price range. I did not feel overwhelmed. The fourth dress I tried on was the one. Mira made the process fun. I cancelled two of the three other appointments I had scheduled at other boutiques. We kept one and went the next day for a comparison. The experience was not the same and I kept comparing all the dresses back to the one at Mira. We called Mira immediately after and ordered the dress. Mira's owners and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They truly want you to be happy with your dress and make it an experience. They kept me up to date on the arrival time of the dress and sash. The seamstresses at Mira are very skilled and altered the dress so it fit me perfectly. Julie, the owner, was there for each of the fittings giving the seamstress direction. Julie is sweet, friendly, and unpretentious. I did not know she was a co-owner or the owner until I looked at her business card the day of the final fitting. read more

Mira Couture had a great selection of dresses, delivered my dress on-time, and performed exceptional alterations; the stylists (Taylor and Julie) were also super sweet to work with. Mira Couture performs alterations on-site and are truly knowledgeable about their dresses to ensure a good fit. I am busty (32J) with a small waist, making dress shopping/fitting very difficult. Mira Couture completely transformed the neck and back of my dress, using lace, to provide me with more coverage. What they created was a lot more than a simple "modesty panel"; the alterations looked like they were part of the dress design - no one would possibly have thought that the dress was not manufactured that way to begin with. Dating back to prom days in high school...I've always hated the dress-shopping experience and the mistake-prone but inevitable alteration/ordering system that follows. Like with needles...I'll do it when it's absolutely necessary, and I'm sorry for the unlucky person(s) that's stuck dealing with me as a client. Well, when my wedding day was about 3 months away (after being engaged for 2 years...) I was forced by several family members to finally begin the daunting task of finding the wedding dress. I know for some girls, it's a fun step 1, but the thought made me want to puke. I honestly had the mindset going into this boutique like I was going to either A.) walk out with a dress that was pretty but not at all "dream dress" standards or B.) realize nothing in the shop was available to me since I put off this task until it was too late for anything to come in in time (more likely scenario). My life changed as soon as I met Addie. Addie, for the first time in my entire life, understood what I was looking for in a dress. After me providing negative feedback on several of the dresses displayed on the racks ("feathers are for birds" "this looks like the ghost-demon from GhostBusters" "this would be nice if I was getting married on the Titanic in the middle of December" etc.), she pulled a dress and asked what I thought of it. That dress was my dream dress. It had all of what I was looking for in a dress. I tried on 2 before it, and didn't need to try on any afterwards. Addie found it. She found THE ONE! ...but then I was informed we'd have to order it. "The designer is local...?" Betsy asked, knowing the odds of having a dress ordered/altered this late in the game was very unlikely to work out. "She's in Israel..." Addie responded. My heart sank for a moment but Addie's optimism perked me right back up. She told me it would be close but they will do everything they can to get it in/fitted in time. Folks, I'm so happy to tell you that this story has a very happy ending. The dress came in in more than enough time. It required very little additional altering once it made it in...an I was able to walk down the aisle in the dress of my dreams. Yes - I get to look back a decade from now at my wedding photos and say, "Yeah, place cards were a huge issue that night but man...look how sexy I look in that dress!" Found Mira from doing Yelp search and really glad that I went there to try on my very first bridal gown! First of all, they are easy to reach by phone, unlike some other places where you need to submit a form online and wait for the reply. My first impression when setting up the appointment by phone was that the person sounded very friendly and welcoming, so I was looking forward to the appointment. When I arrived at my appointment, I was greeted by very friendly staff and got assigned to worked with consultant Taylor, who was just very sweet, honest, and amazing at listening to what I was looking for and providing suggestions that would work for both my body type and my venue. This is my first bridal appointment ever in my life and I am so grateful that I came to Mira and had Taylor as my consultant who made the whole experience amazing. I would highly highly recommend the bride to be to visit Mira at least once because not only they have consultants who are friendly and know the collections well, the collections are all very beautiful and have wide ranges of different styles. Also the pricing of the dresses are super reasonable around $1.5k-$3k. They do custom designs for the dresses so would fit the brides very well too.
