One event we have at our high school is a Prom Fashion Show. The gown vendor we had been working with moved out to Schaumburg and I was left to find another vendor willing to work with us. For weeks I called several stores, left messages and none of them would call me back. I really thought I had to cancel the show this year until Omaima came to my rescue! She not only returned my call but she also agreed to work with us to help make this show a success. We had set up a date and time for the girls to pick out a dress to wear for the show. By the time they arrived there was already an assortment of beautiful gowns ready for them to try on. Omaima and her assistant were so patient and kind. They made sure each girl chose a dress that not only made them feel confident and beautiful, but also flattering to their unique shape and height. The girls had a good time trying on dress after gorgeous dress, standing on the platform in front of the large mirrors, and admiring themselves and each other. As an added bonus Omaima even wrote descriptions of each dress for us to read during the show! The store is small but charming. The decor is warm and welcoming. I can imagine how a bride would feel being in this type of environment surrounded by their loved ones and saying "Yes to the dress." It just has that type of vibe. I was underwhelmed with this store after reading the other Yelp reviews. I made an appointment to try on bridal gowns for 12:30 on a Sunday, and while we were there about 15 minutes prior, everyone else was late. The store is supposed to open at noon, but no one showed up until about 12:35, and I don't think they were the people who were supposed to meet me, because while they were friendly, they did not seem very experienced. I had a pretty specific idea of what kind of silhouettes (trumpet/mermaid) and gown styles (beaded, embellished, lace) I wanted to try on. I showed them the dresses that I was interested in and the dresses that they pulled were nowhere close to the visions I shared. My friend and I had pulled dressed, which were closer in for my vision, but it was an awkward visit. No one really helped me get into or out of the dresses until the manager arrived almost an hour later. She was very put together, polished, and experienced, but since she was late it was hard for her to know what I wanted. I was expecting a lot more options to choose from, but this store has a combination of wedding gowns plus dresses for other special occasions, and there was only one wall of bridal gowns on the floor. Most of them were ballgowns and while their website says they carry a lot of designers, they only carried a very limited selection from them. I do have to say though, it does seem like they're experienced enough to customize your dress once you've purchased it. read more

My daughter and I had the best experience finding her prom dress at Omaima Couture. I did not want to go downtown or out to the very far western suburbs to look for dresses like so many other moms I know had done. I googled prom dress retailers and read the reviews for Omaima Couture on Yelp. Since the reviews were good and the store is close to our home, we thought we'd try it out. To begin, I was pleasantly surprised with how quickly they responded to my Yelp request for a same day appointment. When my daughter and I arrived for our appointment, everyone was super pleasant and helpful without any pressure. The young woman who helped us was so nice and shared great suggestions on the colors and styles that would most flatter my daughter. Omaima Couture has a great selection of formal dresses and the atmosphere is elegant but more personal and comfortable than those of the bridal store type chains like David's Bridal or The House of Bride's. I much prefer this type of store. In the end we found the perfect senior prom dress for my daughter. It's beyond gorgeous!!! When it came to purchasing the dress I was so happy to find out they even honored my budget! In addition alterations are very reasonably priced. Omaima herself was incredible to work with and I loved hanging out with her at her boutique. I got my wedding gown, veil, over skirt, 8 bridesmaids dresses and my mothers gown all custom done here. They further tailored my dress to be exactly what I wanted. They have so many beautiful options and let you actually see all the available dresses and allow to hand choose your options. I want to start by saying I'm very picky and have gone to a few places to look at dresses. I kept finding some I liked but was having a hard time feeling 100% sure on any. I did not find my dress here, however they did have plenty of dresses. I was a little thrown off by a couple things. The first part was, that I was not greeted when I came in, not even after I waited a bit with my group, it could've been that they were busy, I'm not sure; so I just started to look at dresses with my group. Once we started to do that a young girl approached our group. She was very sweet and tried to find exactly what I wanted. She was helpful, however I did feel a bit pushed to try and show dresses I told her I didn't feel great in. The other thing I was not too happy about, was that this was one of the two places that did not allow me to take a picture of the dresses on me. I've gone to about 8 places and all but two let me take pictures, I respect their rules, however if you are anything like me, you need those pictures. I've loved dresses on me in person, but then I see the pictures and have ended up liking others more, which is what helped me decide on my dress. Overall they are very kind and have a nice selection. I discovered Omaima Couture at a Bridal Expo 1 month ago at the Marriott. I met the owner, and she was extremely nice. The samples she had on display were BEAUTIFUL! I just started looking for a wedding dress and had an idea of what I wanted. I had my appointment yesterday and couldn't be more happy with my experience there! The dresses she had were absolutely stunning, and exactly what I was looking for. The shop is small and therefore it makes it a very personable experience. This dress was 2500 over budget. Why would you do that to a bride!?!? This my 3rd review for Omaima Couture (I got rid of the rest; looked too messy), but I am just so happy with my experience. I bought the most BEAUTIFUL veil from here and it was CUSTOM. Okay, so it wasn't cheap but can I just say, this was one of the median/lower priced stores. You get the same thing but you can be confident that you're getting a fair price. The service you receive here is unbelievable. Omaima is so sweet and will dote on you and make you feel like you're Julia Roberts from Pretty Woman, you know, the part where she gets all dolled up. Anything you dream of is possible here... like actually. They can customize it the way you need and dream of and make sure you're satisfied. One piece of advice however, do not go on a trunk show day unless you're totally fine with it being swamped. They are really busy those days and are unable to give as specialized one on one service. If you need to go on a day where you can just do your own thing and explore, then definitely go on a day they have a trunk show. Don't forget to make an appointment but heads up, they're not the best at answering the phone. Also, they can stream your veil or dress if you got it there but you need to do it days in advance. This is a must. Steaming in your bathroom does nothing. read more

I would NEVER spend another dime in this shop. My daughters $600 Prom dress was a nightmare. I worked in the bridal business years ago and all I received from this place was one lie after the next. We had to do an additional fitting because someone tried this dress on as we waited 5 weeks for it to arrive and running last minute for alterations. ZERO customer service . She found so many beautiful dresses that fit my style and in general was so helpful! I truly felt at home when I came here.
