This restaurant used to be good, my family and I went to eat here a few days ago and we all ended up with stomach issues. The meat looked like it was old and used for a long while without being replenished, the vegetables did as well. The cheapest bowl is still $10.99, and you're paying for bull. The "udon" noodles weren't even udon, they were a cheaper alternative. I remember back when they actually served real udon noodles. We should have left. Please don't go there for you and your family's health until this restaurant gets it's act back together. I liked most of the food, and it had a nice atmosphere. However I was disappointed that they only serve shrimp after 4 pm. Just have to say, we have relatives here from Louisiana and decided to eat here as they have never heard of them. Our server, Bryan went above and beyond to help us every step of the way to explain every detail! Even one of the cooks stepped up to help our guests. This use to be an awesome place. Food and service was always great. We went on 12/17/17, service was horrible and food area was Disgusting. It seemed that being short staffed caused it to lack in keeping the food stocked and clean. The bar area didn't have a bartender it was random people making drinks. I participated in there Health Kwest have to Eat there once a day for 60 days. Great place to eat if you like Mongolian. Good variety of meats & veggies. Not too crowded during the week. Service was good most the time. Some staff are amazing like Nancy. They made amazing omelet for me On the grill a few times(hard to do with sticks) One guy would mess up on my Husbands starch every time, but mine was always right. A few late nights I went they were out of some veggies. Overall I like most Of the staff and the bowls I make taste awesome. SO SLOW! Even when the restaurant was half empty, getting our waitress to come to our table was like trying to get the Dali Lama to declare war. Why? The gentleman two tables away from us was covered head to toe in tattoos. She decided it would be much more fun to point and whisper with the other waitresses. I understand Midland is conservative, but I would hope her mother taught her better manners. Okay so this is a new place and I know that Midland hasnt had a place like this before so its harder I think to review this place because of it. So when you walk in, you are promptly greeted and noticed that you are there, which is pretty basic for restaurants. When my fiance and I were seated, it took a little while for them to get our drink orders, as everyone is still flooding this place...but anyway after we got our drinks, we are given bowls and you go through the line and pickout your toppings like chicken, beef, calamari, etc, you then pick your seasonings, then vegetables, sauce, and then your rice, noodles, etc. Cooking time was not bad considering the amount of people in there. I really liked my bowl that I got, it was very good, chicken was cooked through completely, no worries there. I wish they had eggrolls there. Maybe it doesn't go with Mongolian, but I still like eggrolls. Try it out! It is neat that you get to pick your own stuff! read more

I really don't know what I was expecting from Genghis, other than good food, but I did NOT find good food. Whose fault is that? I guess you would have to blame me to some degree. The customer chooses the ingredients & the spices for the dish..... WAY too complicated for me! I think it is the responsibility of the restaurant to prepare the food and add the necessary spices for me to consume! The interior was very nice and the service was prompt and cheerful. Gengis is typically a must stop place for me when out of town. This location, I WILL NEVER RETURN TO!!! This is too bad, as it is actually the closest to where I live. I went with my wife to redeem my free birthday bowl. What a joke! The waitress didnt even check for free bowls on my card (I had 3 at the time). Had to be asked multiple times for drink refils - of which we only ever got 1!! Wait staff ignored us!! I have not been this disgusted with a restraunt in a long time!! Genghis Grill has never been a top performer for me, typically I wouldn't even take the time to write this review for them. However, this week takes the cake. We recently started Keto and I received an email with 20% off my take out order. Done, easy week night meal in my mind. I placed the order online but failed to change my pick up time. I called the restaurant immediately and let them know I didn't need it ASAP, but 5:30. Upon arrival at 5:30, I questioned if this location was even open!!! Not a car in the lot. I walk in and the bulk of the staff is sitting at a table working napkins. Its apparent they aren't expecting a web order pick up or any customers period. I explained what had happened and the manager took charge immediately and said the kitchen never got word on the time change but they would make the meal fresh. Nice, thanks! I confirm prior to leaving we have four meals and an appetizer. I guess I should've inspected the bowls better. Lord have mercy, everything thrown together. Certain things under cooked or missing the bulk of what was ordered for said bowl. Just a total sh&T show of a meal. Even with 20% off it was still a 60.00 meal that ultimately went in the trash. Sad state of affairs at the Midland location. I really don't see us returning. read more

Stopped there last night with my mother in law and husband. Usually we have great service but last night....nope. Our waiter looked as if he was grabbed from the kitchen to help serve. The high chair they brought for my son was covered in old food. The new way they designed the food line to go was still a mess. We had to keep telling our waiter what drinks we wanted over and over. He was nice just lost I suppose. We do plan on going back hopefully for a better experience. read more

The only server on the restaurant sat us right next to a dirty table with soda spilled on the floor and food not cleared even though the entire restaurant only had one other table of 2 being used. This place is in desperate need of good management. It's horrible these days. Came at 11:15am today, they open at 11am. Several tables had already gone through the line. Only about 1/2 the meat and 1/2 the veggies were available. They were scrambling to get them out. We had to ask for spoons for the spices. Guess the people that went before us went with out. No bowls for the sauces. Had to wait on those. Ask for additional vegetables to be placed out. They brought them out one at a time. I get it, it's 11:15am and probably don't get busy until noon (this place is never busy anymore. All the customers have been run off.) but what happen to being ready for business when the doors open? It looks like the employees had just walked in the door. The Bar was still dirty from the night before. Poor little girl sitting at the table beside us just wanted Mac & Cheese, but they were out. Numerous health violations spotted everywhere. They were having to share towels to wipe stuff down because they didn't have enough. I absolutely love Genghis Grill, but this one is awful. The server was nice but messed up our drink order and it took about 20 minutes for us to flag her down to fix it. But my issue is not with service, because our server was an absolute sweetheart, it's with the food. I'm naturally an extremely picky eater which is why I like this restaurant. I got my food about 15 minutes after my friend did, despite us finishing making them at the same time. When my food arrived it was a weird mixture of overcooked and undercooked, as if the cook had just dropped the food on the grill and left it. There were a ton of burnt pieces inside of the bowl because the grill had not been cleaned prior. Being as picky as I am I couldn't eat it, but I'm grateful that the server and the manager were kind enough to take the bowl off our check. read more
