Solid choice in Pineville. I get brought to some strange places by work folks. Sometimes when I'm in Cajun country they bring me to eat Mexican or a Chinese buffet. While Pineville is not really Cajun country, I was expecting a local favorite not Genghis. But damn I need to open my mind some. This place was great. Here's how it works. This would be a good choice for someone who likes the Mongolian Grill experience, minus the buffet. That being said, it's about the same price that you would pay for the full buffet. That would be a downer for the person with the heartier appetite, because there is no going back to the bar for seconds. After you choose your choice of starch, then you make your way to the bar and fill a cereal bowl sized container with the ingredients that you would like in your stirfry. The ingredients are very fresh and there's an abundance of sauces and seasonings to choose from which the chef will be more than happy to prepare your meal. went to the Mongolian Grill over in Pineville last night. It was very well done. Basically they give you a bowl and you pick out type of rice or pasta. Then you take the bowl and go to a counter and you self serve what you want. They take the bowl and cook it and bring it to the table for you. Approximately 50 different items, including multiple types of meat. Then they had a good 10 or 15 sauces and other toppings. I'm honestly not a big fan of Chinese like food or hibachi style food, but this was well done. 4/25 another bust to our daughter in Pineville La-it is our go to place one of the days we are in the area. This visit as in the past was especially scrumptious. Selecting all of the ingredients from the bar is so much fun and the results this night was especially great. Noodles-chicken-veggies-cashews sauces and of course an egg they scramble. The results was spectacular as was the vibe. The idea of making these selections to meet you desired results is fantastic-service and affordability is just the trick. I love going to Genghis. You get to pick your choice of rice, noodles, or cabbage in your bowl. You fill it up to the top with your choice of meat and vegetables and then they cook it. It's always more than enough to eat, sometimes I get three meals out of the one bowl. They also have sushi and it is so good. Love this place! read more

I took my two little nieces out for a girls day and We have never been here before. Italia was our server and she was very sweet and explained how you pick your base on the card and go to the bar and pick your vegetables and proteins. Then the cooks cook it for you! So happy this place is now open! Located in the strip mall next to Burger King, so easy to get to. Has an upbeat vibe with music to match. I was happy with the fresh ingredients (love the jalepenos & bok choy!) as well as the sauce & seasoning choices. There are plenty of meat choices for the carnivores. For those with food allergies let them know and they can guide you on what to choose. At the entrance they have a board with several suggestions for building different kinds of bowls. As per usual, the dinner choices include more seafood than lunch, but that is to be expected. They will begin serving alcohol next month, so I can have a glass of wine before long. I am a soldier of 20+ years and have traveled coast to coast. In my time of visiting many Mongolian style restaurants, Genghis is the BEST! They have a LARGE variety of proteins, veggies (yuck) and crazy delish sauces oh, and then spices! My first time I made a masterpiece and slurped up every last bit! You can pick your noodle style and type of rice. My meal was $15 for lunch, a tad pricey... but I would pay it gladly every time for what you get. You go up in line and choose the raw meats and vegetables you want cooked, put it in a bowel and then choose your sauces and put those in their own individual "cup" and then give it to the cooks for them to cook it for you! I had never eaten at a Mongolian type restaurant but was in Pineville visiting my brother & looking for something out of the ordinary for dinner. I pulled up my trusty Yelp app to find a restaurant with good reviews. We chose this restaurant based on the reviews although there were not many current reviews. Melanie met us at the entrance & I informed her this was our first time visiting this style of restaurant. She put us at ease informing us that she would show us what to do. She walked us through the process. It was so much fun choosing our meats, vegetables, sauces & seasonings. We had a bowl of soup which was really delicious while we waited for them to cook our bowls. Melanie was so sweet to visit with us while we waited on our food which was made fresh. We will definitely make this one of our stops when traveling thru Pineville in the future. If you haven't tried this place yet by all means you must give it a try. We came here because someone said "You gotta try it". Well we tried it and loved it. We read a couple reviews that weren't so great but we went anyway. 1 review said the people explained how to fix your meal and I was thinking how strange but still we went. When we got inside my mother-in-law told the waitress we had never been there so she had to explain how it all worked and she said "yes ma'am, of course" and started telling us how to fill out the rice or noodle card. Then you have to go up with your bowl and tray and put all your meats, veggies, sauces and seasonings in it. Then give it to the cook. When he is done the waitress brings you this huge bowl of food.
