I don't even have words to say about this place except for SHAME on the West Covina mall, and for the owner (Sharon) and the onsite manager Juan. They allow their employees to whistle out loud throughout the day. I was out in the area for a conference and decideded to do some shopping and grab some lunch. Options at the food court are pretty fair. The guys working at this place are creepy, because they will stare you down as a woman and because they're close to the restrooms, you can imagine how they look at the girls....disgusting. I came back the next day, just to try the new Indian place, and again, there they were with the whistling. After a few conversations with some employees, I got the names above. The worker here really hooked me up with a meal that is beyond worth it. I was sad to know that the Mongolian Grill at Puente Hills is officially closed now, which was the closest to me. So I had to come here to get more of that good food. Unlike the one in Puente Hills Mall, they let you grab your own meat just like old times. The Mongolian Grill is about 20 dollars, and I really wanted to get my money's worth. So I added as much meat as I can, but I wasn't sure if I was adding my own noodles too. The man working there said he'll do it, and he gave A LOT. Like this was the nicest man there! I had so much in my container, that I couldn't finish it. So I ate it like 2 times after because it was still too much. I'll for sure be coming back here! Since it was at the food court, it was a pretty clean area. I did an online order through door dash and NEVER AGAIN will I order for my food to get delivered. I order chicken & beef and let's just say whoever did the servings had a very light hand for the meat portion. Very disappointed waste of $. It's as if I only ordered noodles. So before you order and believe you're getting a good deal just go in person and make your money worth the serving. read more

The food was good, the service was excellent, the cashier and the cooks were all very polite and pleasant and provided service with a smile.

This use to be my go to spot. I know prices are going up but they have a way smaller bowel to fill up the meats and vegetables. When I mentioned it to the cashier he was like "yea that are huh" as he didn't care. The cook also gives no flavor to the noodles, it's all watered down. While eating my plate you can taste the cilantro wasn't rinse properly. Practically paying $20 just to get whatever service and non flavored noodles. I hope the owner sees this and makes the necessary changes. read more

Awesome manager, Jerry. He listened to our concerns and took every step to make things right. Gave it a 4 only because of him and one of the hostess that stepped in to help because unfortunately our waiter did not do well. Food was good when we were able to get some. Every time I visit Gengis Khan, the reason I keep coming back isn't just the food -- it's the amazing service from Bernadette at the cashier. Even when there's a long line, she stays calm, friendly, and attentive. I really appreciate how she takes the time to recommend items and help me decide what to order, it makes the whole experience of the overwhelming food court so much easier and more enjoyable. The food is absolutely delicious and you control your own portions. You can go small portions, you can go large, it is all the same price. There seems to be an issue with the grill today, it seems like they can only cook one bowl at a time, by the time I was ready to have my food cooked my bowl was about 7 bowls back. A grill this large should be able to cook at least three servings, maybe even four depending on the amount of space to move around. My order took about 20 minutes for me to get once I set my bowl down to cook. Looking at the line now, there are people who are waiting in front of the veggies for their bowls as the line is backed up. read more

Came here after the gym the other day and the food was good! I picked ALL the veggies and added their chilis, chili oil, soy sauce, some lemon, and oil and they cook everything right in front of you. Super fast and obviously made fresh. HUGE PORTIONS, they are very generous! The CHICKEN is better than beef, I got both although beef was decent, too. Very nice staff. Sorry, I am not picky but this place... I do not understand how they can survive... I ordered make own bowl. I put lots veggies but when they make them cooked, dropped all the veggies on the ground and only noodle remains... I even found one short straight hair in that food... And we paid over 16 dollars +tax for each NOODLE... My husband and I came through about 3pm today and it was pretty busy. The female worker was all over helping out while the cooks where in the back. We heard her ask for help at least 3 times with no one coming to help her. The food was great but sad to see the female worker struggle to help everyone while the men where in the back. read more

For one , my experience here has always been a good one, up until today. My boyfriend and I we've come a few times, today was no different. We got there and a Hispanic gentleman (didn't catch his name) was beginning to help us, very courteous and helpful young man. He was ringing us up about to close the purchase when the "Lead Cashier" Kim / AKA the Manager comes up to the cashier and rudely takes over the encounter. Doesn't introduce herself just takes over and starts charging us for what she "assumed" we were ordering. The young man had to intervene and stop her from charging us for the wrong meal, and correct her. Had she communicated with him properly and efficiently she would've known what we had ordered from the get. We paid and began serving ourselves but before we could even start my bf grabbed the wrong utensil not knowing that this utensil was solely for the employees to move the meat back with out customers touching and cross contaminating with their own utensils. Kim rudely grabbed the tongs out of my bf's hands and said, "these tongs aren't for you, these are for us to move the meat back, that's why you saw me move them to begin with". My bf apologized and was taken back at the tone she used towards him and gesture. I recognized that her tone was completely inappropriate and so was her demeanor towards not just us but the employee who was helping us. I went up to her and told her politely that she didn't need to snatch the tongs out of his hands and she could have been politer about the situation. Instead of her accepting my concern she blew up and started arguing and raising her voice at me and saying she didn't snatch them out of out of his hands. I told her I wanted to speak to the manager and she proudly kept boasting that she was it. Instead of reframing from raising her voice she said she would gladly let the owner know about this unfortunate event, and I told her yes I'd like to speak to the person above you, she said I'm the manager again and when I asked her name she walked away and pretended that she didn't hear me . I then proceeded to confront her until she told me her name in which she shouted, "it's Kimberly, and I'll be notifying the owner right now!". I said, "Yes Please do so, because as a Manager you're wrong, the customer should always be heard, the customer is always right." At that point the employee had to approach her and tell her to walk away and calm down because she kept yelling at us. Kimberly , then walked out of the back after we were continuing to try and serve ourselves, had the audacity to say in front of my boyfriend and I , to the young man , "She's being a BITCH!". When I realized that she was referring to me I almost lost my cool, hopped over the counter to whoop Kimberly's behind. She's really lucky I kept my cool, I'm not one to be provoked but when I am it takes some really nasty behavior to reflect on it. When I confronted her for calling me a bitch she immediately tried to switch it up and say that she said, "she was acting bitchy." Everyone heard what she said including the young man she said it to, she just didn't realize we were actually standing there listening to her . Her code of conduct was completely out of line, given the title as "Lead Cashier"/ Manager . If in fact she is a manager she should be let go, this representation of aggressive and passive behavior has no place in any field in public customer service especially in upper management. I will say that this is a poor representation of Gengis Khans establishment , and it is my sincerest hopes that they will do something about this misfortunate event before it happens to another customer. read more

Personally, my go-to comfort fastfood has always been mongolian bbq at food courts. I'd say 9.5/10 times you go to any, its a good time. Food is great and service usually is friendly. This spot though, i felt deserved a special shout out. Like many, the portion was very generous and the food was great! But the employees were actually pretty funny too. As always, i ask for a lot of broccoli and usually i get a handful on top, or a broccoli shield planted along the rim of the bowl. This employee went straight to the sauces without the broccoli and dumped it onto the grill. Before i could say anything, he gets the now empty bowl, fills it all with broccoli, and adds it to the grill. LOLL *heart emoji* AND REMEMBER, IF YOU CARRY SOME CASH, TIP THE DUDES COOKING IT!! Only a buck or two for us adds up for them. read more

Probably the worst Mongolian BBQ I've ever had.. It was extremely unappetizing to watch my food getting cooked on a pan that has bits of old food from previous orders sitting on it. Who knows when the last order was from? In this time of pandemic, I would expect more sanitary measures to be in place but this restaurant was just so disappointing. The veggies were not fresh so I ended up getting just a little bit and the meat was so tough I had to keep spitting them out. :( read more

If you find yourself in or near the West Covina Mall, stop by Gengis Khan. You won't regret it. In a nutshell: you get a bowl, fill it up with as much stuff as you can fit on it, and the griller will add noodles and season/cook it all to perfection! They have a wide selection of meats and vegetables to choose from as well as a number of sauces and broths! I recommend pouring on a healthy amount of sesame seeds after you get your cooked meal. Depending on how many people are there, it can take quite some time for your food to be ready but I promise it's completely worth it! read more

Not a lot of health measures considering covid, but in general as well. There were food scraps everywhere & meat/veggie mixing so not good with anyone with food sensitivities. They do allow you to put a good portion on the food before the noodles so I was really looking forward to it. Once cooked though....quality of the produce was noticeable. The meat (beef) had the weirdest texture. It looked like beef jerky that crumbled like cottage cheese. I picked out the beef & kept eating but sadly the bowl tasted like cardboard. The only bits of flavor were the baby corn & pineapple. I ended up throwing away 3/4 of the bowl. If they gave you options to put on toppings/sauces at the end it would be much better since they cook with a lot of water (?). read more

Very unorganized. There is no sign where it days to you don't have to get the noodles and that they will add noodles on for you at the end so you can get confused by filling your bowl with noodles. The workers saw me and didn't even say anything. The utensils are at the front next to the register instead of at the end which is so stupid because people paying for the food blocks it and you literally have to say excuse me or reach over them. The food itself was bland and tasteless. I told them everything for the sauce and it still was very bland. I'd rather play 20 dollars for something else instead of this garbage. This was just okay. I feel like the bowl is too small given the $10 price tag. Yes, they fill you up with noodles once you take your bowl to the cook, but I prefer my orders with a lot of veggies and protein and much less cheap carbs. The taste was decent enough. I like that the cook put a whole lot of garlic and sauce on mine, but I noticed he didn't ask if I wanted any nor did he bother to check how much I wanted. The food was very mediocre compared to "Great Khan's" in santa anita and firestone malls. The owner here needs to replace herself with a manger or just give up all together. Her stand is so slow and it's probably due to her bad attitude. She's very rude and has an un-welcoming demeanour. The cooks also have a low energy attitude. They may just dislike working for the owner. Either way, I wouldn't recommend this stand out of the options that you have in the west co mall food court. read more

This is the 3rd time my wife and i come here to get some noodles and there is a Chef , i dont know his name but he has tattoos and it seemed like he only speaked spanish and little english. Which really doesnt bother or change the anything but EVERY single time , he's always looking at women pass by and he will stare and let his co worker know right in front of customer to look over. Its disgusting. Its annoying because he peaked over to look at my wifes legs and i dont bother saying anything because its weird and i dont want to say anything disrespectful. I hope you guys get a new chef who can do his job professionally because i see a lot of potential at this Location. My Girl's friend actually recommended the place and was told that if you conversate and flirt with the chefs , they will actually stuff your plate with more noodles and allow you to add more meat of your choice. The reviews on here really caught my eye.... drove 45 min to try it! My entire experience was shitty! I called before going because I got lost. A guy answered the phone, very blunt and rude. I swept it off! When I arrived the guy that answered the phone actually was restocking the beef and chicken. I knew because when he talked it was the exact same voice and attitude. While I was loading my bowl there was still the plastic wrap on my beef not a little a lot. Instead of complaining I swept it off. Why did I sweep it off my shoulders? Because the reviews are good! So the food would of just top all that off. Well taking it to go and looking forward to it when getting home, my first bite was disgusting..... either the guy that had the attitude that served us didn't add something or was trying to rush because it was almost time to go home.
