Came here with my mom and we ordered a two entrée plate which came with two items along with some noodles which all came out to be very inexpensive. The food tasted really good and fresh and hot. Initially, we were going to order two however because it gave so much we just decided to probably just get one and split it because of how much and how much that one plate was already going to fill us up. Service was good. The people there speak the same language as us which is Cantonese , which made it easy to order the I came here with my family and we ordered a 2, two-entrée plate with noodles for just $10.99. The price was very affordable--especially compared to places like Panda Express; and the portions were incredibly generous. The plate was absolutely loaded with food, so much that we originally planned to order two but ended up sharing just one because it was more than enough. The food itself was fresh, hot, and really flavorful. We tried the orange chicken, Kung Pao chicken, mushroom chicken, and the string bean chicken and all were delicious. Everything tasted well-prepared and satisfying. The service was good, and it made ordering easy since the staff spoke both Mandarin, Cantonese, and English. We visited during lunchtime, and there was a line, which shows how popular the place is. Despite that, the wait was reasonable. They have indoor seating which is spacious with plenty of seats for large parties and for single diners. The customer service here is non-existent. The people that work there can't even speak basic English. They fill your plate with noodles or rice and barely give you any chicken or meat. Best Chinese takeout in the area! Fast, efficient, reliable. I moved out and hadn't visited in around 5 years, came back expecting portions to get smaller and prices to go up. This was my first time eating from Tasty Goody and I did so based on the reviews which were generally good. I ordered through Uber eats and that process was fine. My review is for the food. I wanted wonton soup without any extra vegetables like they put in Wor Wonton soup due to some dietary restrictions this week so this seemed like it would be perfect. Although it was tasty, they packaged the wontons separately from the broth so the wontons were all clumped together and did not come apart easily once put in a bowl with the broth poured on them. It was definitely not visually appealing and as has been said, we eat with our eyes. I have had much better elsewhere. I also ordered the Pot Stickers. They were overcooked & burnt, so they get an "F." I also ordered Chicken Fried Rice. It was better, it had a lot of chicken, which was surprising but good and it was seasoned fairly well. Ok, the first time I entered this Chinese restaurant it smelled great, freshly cooked food was being set on the hot case for customers to order and the establishment was clean with the 20th century diner ambiance. I told myself I need to return after work and try it for myself. Later, I return to find the mood and service had completely changed! I placed my order and I watch them mess it up right in front of me; I ordered a two meat combo but the employee placed so much chow mein noodles onto my plate that there was hardly room left for anything else, either they were trying to cheat me by misappropriating the plate ratio or they don't know the metric system. Nonetheless I said change my order to a single meat, so I gave myself a discount for their error. I finally sat down to try my long awaited order and deem it... mediocre. I praise their generous portions but the taste and quality of the food in my opinion is meh. Oh, I asked to use the restroom but they refused to allow me to bring my to-go bag with me, despite the fact I held the receipt in my hand! More like a 3.5 but I'm rounding up. Big and CHEAP portions! We ordered for a party of 6 and we had so much food leftover. Food was prepared and ready very quickly and efficiently. We got the: 1) Pint of BBQ Pork: -Heaping portion of BBQ pork. Nicely seasoned. -Not too sweet. Great balance of savory and not dry either. 2) Quart of Salt & Pepper Shrimp: -Decent amount of shrimp. Nicely crispy. -Head and tail on. 3) Pint of Broccoli Beef: -Of course there's way more broccoli than beef, but that's to be expected. -The broccoli is not steamed that long so it's still very very crunchy. Great for leftovers since the repeated steaming would definitely make it much softer. 4) Family Dinner Combo: -For this we got the veggie chow mein, pork fried rice, green bean chicken, and wonton soup. -We didn't even get a chance to eat the wonton soup since there's so much to eat already. -Standard pork fried rice with peas and scrambled eggs. It's a solid carb to have with your meal. -Green bean was nice and crunchy and chicken was seasoned nicely. Chicken was moist. 5) 2 Meats Combo: -We got this large with chicken rice noodles and veggie chop suey. -For the meat we black pepper chicken and pork riblets. -I didn't like how big the rib bones were and how chewy the pork was, but to others that might be a good thing. The black pepper chicken was a bit too sauced for my liking, but it would have been balanced with some white rice. With how much food we had, I didn't get chance to touch the chow mein, rice noodles or chop suey, but my grandparents had food for the rest of the week from the this order. I have never physically been to Tasty Goody, so this is all based on Doordash orders I've made in the past year! These folks do not mess around with portioning! Whenever we order, the food is practically busting out of the container. I order the beef and broccoli (which admittedly, can use more beef, but I don't mind too much) and green bean chicken (a little salty, but yummy) with chow mein and steamed rice. Let me tell you, there is something to their steamed rice! It's literally plain white rice but the way they cook it is phenomenal! One negative thing I will say is the food is almost always leaking at the bottom of the bag, but it's also a positive because it's due to the way these containers are filled with food, so I cannot complain too much! read more
