I eat at Krua Thai pretty regularly, and there's a reason I keep returning -- the Kai Jiew with shrimp or pork, both delicious. It's one of those dishes you start craving randomly because it's just THAT good. Fluffy Thai omelet, crispy edges, perfectly seasoned, and loaded with shrimp or pork. Over time I've tried several other dishes too: * Tom Kha chicken soup -- super comforting * Pad Thai -- classic and reliable * Cha Po -- flavorful and satisfying Everything I've ordered has been consistently delicious, and that reliability keeps this place in my regular rotation. Great portions, solid flavors, and dependable quality every visit.

This place was recommended to us so we thought we would go give it a try on a weekend It wasn't to packed Customer service is lacking seemed cold we were sat quickly. This was our first time so it took a minute to look over the menu and the waitress kept coming over we asked for more time Then a gentleman came over and again we asked for more time We finally placed our order I felt very rushed We received our items We just ordered something that looked familiar Food was good very flavorful Small portions for the price. The restaurant had a weird smell to it But looked clean And the restroom was weird woman's restroom was wide open and door was locked open but the men's restroom door was closed It was very uncomfortable to use especially with the workers able to look in

I placed an order in the phone and arrived a little earlier than they said, thankfully my food was ready to go! The guy who rang me up was friendly, and the ambiance inside felt pretty open. It wasn't super busy for a Saturday night but more customers were rolling in as I left the place. I got the pad Thai with chicken, the yellow curry with chicken and a side of rice, and finally an order of the pad see ew. My partner also wanted a side if peanut sauce which brought the total for everything to about $67? Dollars. For the amount and quality of the food, $67 felt like a good value! Even my mom was surprised by how much food we got in the to go containers. Being that we grew up in San Gabriel valley we all compared it to noodle world - they felt like it was on par but I felt like it was just a smidge better than noodle world. The pad Thai and pad see ew were both well seasoned and had a good mix of veggies and meat to noodles. The yellow curry was so flavorful, I think this dish may have sparked a new liking to it! Would definitely come back and definitely recommend!

Seafood soup

If I can give it no stars I would. Not to be mean but we just left from having lunch here or rather looking forward to eating lunch here only to not eat anything. We ordered the seafood soup which is a signature dish here, shrimp fried rice and pad see eww. Pad see was ok. But the soup tasted like nothing but hot sewer water with lemon! It was super sour! Absolutely disgusting and no flavor. The rice was super flavorless and the Shrimp tasted like plastic. I don't understand, this place has been here for years and although I hadn't been here in over a year, I didn't expect anything less than the same delicious food as always. To top it off the ladle for the soup was dirty! I asked to have it changed which they did and I asked for chop stick and never brought them. They exchanged the soup and rice when I told our server and when they brought back another soup, it was exactly the same only more sour! Overall I'm disappointed to say that I will not be back ever. Do better Krua Thai. You have a reputation to uphold you have been here for over 20 years!

Words through the grape vine do spread quite quickly. Heard about Krua Thai Cuisine for their authentic and amazing Thai dishes. Of course, I had to bookmark it for a future visit. It is located at the Hong Kong Plaza in West Covina. I wasn't able to dine in that evening so I phoned in my order. Lady on the phone was nice, but I felt rushed because she would say "anything else" after every single item I ordered. Anyway, here's my order... 1 Pad See Ew Fried Tofu 1 Pad Woon Sen Seafood 1 Pad Thai Chicken 1 Thai Iced Tea (no ice) Upon arrival, there was an open parking space right in front of the restaurant. Due to the crowdedness at Hong Kong Plaza, parking can be a challenge at times. I got lucky. Upon entry, I headed straight to the front count. Inside space was open. Ambiance was welcoming. Lady staff greeted me nicely. My order was ready. Paid for my order. I noticed they charged me an extra $1.50 for no ice on the Thai Iced Tea. Lady on the phone did not tell me this piece of information. Otherwise, I may not have ordered it. I didn't say anything and left it be. Before leaving, I went to the women's restroom. When I was ready to grab my order, Thai Iced Tea was not with my food order. I asked the lady staff and she said oh sorry... here you go. I was disappointed to see that they took half an inch off my Thai Iced Tea. If I am paying an extra $1.50 for no ice, I should get a full cup of Thai Iced Tea to the rim. Don't you think? As for the food, portions were huge... I'll give them that. Lots of noodles, fried tofu, chicken, seafood, etc. I think I got 2-3 meals out of each dish. As for taste and flavor, they were just okay... I have had better tasting Thai dishes. Out of all 3 dishes, Pad Woon Sen Seafood was the best. It had woodear in it which I like. Prices were a bit higher than other Thai places. My total bill came out to be $70+ for 3 dishes and 1 drink. Glad I gave Krua Thai Cuisine a try. Overall experience could have been better. As for my return here, I don't think so unfortunately. If you're curious, by all means, do give them a try. You may have a better experience. Thank you Krua Thai... wishing you all the best!

Krua Thai has always been a favorite of mine. Whether getting Thai tea boba or having lunch/dinner Krua Thai never disappoints. My favorite is their chicken pad Thai lunch special that comes with an egg roll, rice, and a salad. Servers are quick to take your drink and drink order. Food comes out fairly quickly. The location is clean and a nice size.

Thai boat

Very disappointed with this place. Aside from the more expensive plates and smaller portions, I also found some pests in my food. The quality of the food had also decreased over the years. The only saving grace is the wait staff who were kind despite our late arrival, but it was clear that this place lost its charm long ago.

Dianne D.

Dinner was great! Everything we ordered was good and the portion size was larger than we expected. The service was amazing. Our drinks were always full and when we sent back an item because it wasn't to our liking, our server took it back no questions asked. We'll be back!

Tom yum, pad kee mao, Calamari, papaya salad, morning glory, green curry
Alex N.

Solid thai food place but I think it was an off day. pad kee mao: was different and very oily. Very different style from every other Thai spot I've had it. It had tomatoes and onions and a tossed in red chili oil I believe. Where everywhere else I've had it puts more veggies like bell pepper. papaya salad: was super sweet and not sour. I don't know what happened here. Also, there wasn't very much papaya, I feel there was more tomato chunks than actual papaya. The green curry was good but lacked flavor, honestly nothing I order had any spice even though I asked for everything to be medium to hot spice. Calamari: good maybe a tad overcooked Morning glory: pretty sweet Seafood tomyum: good flavor but again not spicy, and I'll prob skip the seafood because the quality of seafood in was not good aside, aside from the crab. I believe they just threw in a seafood frozen melody and it tasted meh. The shrimps were so tiny, not the same shrimps in the papaya salad. Again very weird that none of my food tasted spicy. All in all it was not terrible because I know it can be better here, so it was probably just an off day but yeah. Pretty disappointed it's not consistent.

Filthy container. Lady waitress blamed it on garlic oil. Does this look like garlic oil to you? It wasn't even oily.
Philip L.

Ordered food the night before dropped it off to a sick friend who immediately called to say the container was super dirty. I didn't check since I was in a rush and only dropped off the food. I called in to complain. The gentleman was cool. Said they'll replace the order. Came back the following day and this lady waitress had the shittiest attitude. Kept going back and forth talking to the other workers about how the container was dirty. She spoke in Thai so most likely she was already talking $hit. You could tell by her tone of voice and body language she wasnt happy about the return. We usually dine here with relatives who visit. And order take out a few times a month times. We won't be coming back

Orange chicken
Danny O.

Food was good. Been coming here for years. Would always order the garlic beef, chicken pad Thai and white rice. Today I added the orange chicken instead of the calamari. The orange chicken I have to say was so/so. The sweet sauce added to the chicken tasted store bought and like it was missing something. Service was ok as well. They got my order wrong and didn't bring out the pad Thai till after all the food came and I had to speak with them about the order. Server assumed we didn't want it instead of confirming with us. They also brought the white rice 10 minutes before the rest of the food. By the time the food came the rice wasn't hot/steamy but just slightly warm. My preference is for the rice to be brought out with the rest of the food. Not before. Prices since a year ago had changed. Dishes that were $10-12 are now 15.99. When I asked the reason the server mentioned its because of new manager. That's been 4 managers within the last few years that have managed that location. There is no need to have increased the prices if the food has not undergone changes/upgrades as well. But that's my opinion.

We got southern curry noodles, flaming drunken noodle at extra spicy, and Che Po. The curry noodles were good we got the flat noodles. Though my wife likes it more savory I like it more coconutty. Authentic Thai and Chinese fusion taste. The star of the show was the flaming drunken noodle. It's probably one of the best drunken noodles we've had. At extra spicy, it definitely brought the flame and the foavor in a big way. The portions and prices were great. We had to togo the drunken noodle and it got even better after we reheated it. -service was very friendly and quick -the restaurant is a good size, great for large parties. The pad thai was on the sweeter side. I got my order with pork as the protein choice. I felt if a lime was provided, it would help balance out the flavors of the noodles. The peanut was kept in a separate container, which I appreciated. The platter consists of a variety of items from dumplings, egg rolls, cream cheese wonton, wonton, and shrimp tempura. The container had holes to allow for the steam to escape, so most of the items were still crispy. Nothing from the platter particularly stands out in taste, besides possibly cream cheese wonton.
