I went into Genia's with an emergency because my bridesmaid dress was several sizes too large and the wedding was in 9 days. She altered it perfectly and it was ready with 3 days to spare. I've been to many tailors who charge an arm and a leg for a simple hem, she redid my entire dress to fit me like a glove on a time crunch and I honestly feel like she undercharges given her level of expertise and customer service. This place is great!! I was a walk in appointment and she was able to get my dress done in 2 weeks, during prom season as well! I just needed my bridesmaid dress shortened and it needed to be hemmed in around my ribs. I was nervous with the dress because the cups felt too big on me and I asked if she could take them out. The seamstress suggested I leave them in and it would look better once she hemmed everything. I am so glad I listened to her because it turned out perfect!! Took my daughters prom dress to have it altered. She is very small so a lot had to come off the bottom. She also wanted straps added. The seamstress had the idea to use the fabric removed for the straps. When we got the dress it was perfect. The added straps actually made the dress! It's slightly pricey but worth it. read more

I have had many dresses altered and have sent numerous people to this business in the past. I will not be using this business in the future. If you have something difficult or need a professional opinion I wouldn't recommend going here. She is combative when asked about her work and says she won't talk to you when you push back. She doesn't like to fix anything. I spent $225 on alterations and I still can't wear the dress. Very disappointed and will never go back! read more

This place is outstanding. I've been taking all of my alterations to this store for over 15 years. They are the best and are very friendly and accommodating. Finally the day came for my daughters wedding and we knew that this would be the only place we could trust to make my daughter look amazing in her wedding gown. When my daughter finally picked up her dress from the bridal store and initially tried it on before alterations she cried and said she hated it because it did not fit her at all. We took it to Genia's and she lovingly took my daughter by the hand and told that when she finished altering it she would absolutely love it. Well, Genia was right, my daughter had tears on her final fitting because she fell in love with her dress all over again. She was stunning and it fit her like a glove. First time here for pants to be taken up the work was ok. I dropped three dresses off to be hemmed. The thread did not match the gray dresses and alters the whole look of the dress. Looks terrible and when I asked about the color she said it was the darkest thread she had. I believe she shouldn't have done the job if she didn't have the correct supplies. The charge for the three basic dresses to be taken up two inches, $90.00! Highly recommend you specifically ask the cost upfront. She does not write the amount on the ticket when you go in and nowhere are her prices listed inside. My pants were $14 to be hemmed so I don't think a basic hem on a basic dress would have been 30 DOLLARS each! read more

Stay away from this place! My wife had an easy project to have handles stitched on a nice bag that she made. The handles were sewed on very poorly and their work was extremely messy. They refused to correct the mistakes they made. They also soiled the material. The sad thing is that we've used Genia for years! This place has really changed. We were very disappointed because they didn't even care about the poor quality of their work or that my wife was unhappy. They are clearly all about making $ now and the customer is certainly no longer valued here. We will no longer do business here. If you care about what you are having altered, I recommend going somewhere else and finding a place that values you as a customer. read more

EXCELLENT work and attention to detail! I have been going to Genia's for many years and have only had great service and detailed attention to every garment. Last week she transformed six old, tattered pillows into jaw dropping showpieces that have taken our living room to another level! Genia's Taylor shop can do any alteration at reasonable prices with a fast turnaround time. For those 'emergency' pieces, she is the one to call for help.
