She informed me that the store was closing soon and rushed me out while I was still walking through the store, even though I still had a few minutes left and other customers were actively being helped. This felt dismissive and uncomfortable. I also observed her speaking to employees in a disrespectful manner, which created a negative atmosphere. I would hate to work for someone that rude and nasty. Additionally, she was not wearing a visible name tag like the rest of the staff, which added to the lack of professionalism. This has never happened to me at any ULTA location I have visited before. This location is in the Bergen Town Center, so you might find parking to be a pain in the a$$... Some pros of Ulta: *You get the best of both worlds because they carry both drugstore and high-end beauty brands. They've added a lot more brands recently. I was shook lol. So you'll have much more variety when you shop. *Their rewards/points system is unmatched. The points you accumulate can be used as discounts on future purchases. They also have a lot of BOGO deals, sales, freebies, and events to give you chances to multiply your points. At Sephora, you can only use your points towards whatever samples they are offering at that time. They don't have as many incentives. *They offer brow services *They have a fully operating hair salon *Stores are generally much more spacious and bigger I would say two of the biggest cons are that Ulta does not carry many "hot" or "unique brands"... Sephora definitely does. I've also had better customer service at Sephora. This Ulta location can be a hit or miss with the employees. Some are very knowledgeable about products and some are not. They're also stingy with samples. One thing's for sure... you step into Ulta wanting one item, and you'll walk out with 10...

They seem to be well known in the Filipino community as they have pictures with multiple Filipino celebrities showcased on the wall. However, they cater to anyone as they are friendly. The salon is a pretty decent size with one side for the hair stylists while there's another side for other beauty needs. What I thought was cool was that they have a trash can with a vacuum next to each station to get all the hair from the floor, haha. I've never seen that in other salons. NOW, there is one big turn off for me. The owner is a little rude. My grandma has been going here for a long time now to get her haircut. She never seems to greet my grandma or I whenever I come to bring her to the salon. Also, she had some treats that she was giving to some of the customers and my grandma, but she looked at me and didn't offer me any. It's alright that I didn't get the candy, but that's a bit rude because one of her employees was telling her to offer me one in Tagalog (Filipino - which I can understand), but she didn't offer. She appears to be nice to all other customers except me or my grandma. If my grandma hadn't come here for years, I would tell her not to come back. The hair stylist, Jones, is absolutely wonderful. He is such a nice man and will always have a conversation with you. He also cuts hair so beautifully as he does with my grandma's hair. If it weren't for him, I would definitely not bring my grandma here. He is so friendly though which makes it great for her to come back.

All white, beautiful mirrors everywhere, and I couldn't stop staring at the beautiful chandelier. Its a gorgeous space! The woman who did my hair was named Carrie, and she was so sweet. I've been going to this salon for years and have always had great experiences and service. Lately, I have been traveling quite a bit and haven't gone in about a year. During this time, my go to stylist, Allison, had left the salon. Because of this I was reluctant as I wasn't informed she was leaving and I wasn't sure who I'd trust at this point to style my hair. I wasn't assured the brand new stylist they have would be a good fit because she was the same level as Allison. Upon my arrival, I was excited to visit the salon once again and begin treating my hair with them. A very strange looking lady approached me and introduced herself as the stylist that would attend to me. I was extremely reluctant to go with her and trust she would know how to take care of my needs for my hair. I asked for a TRIM, conditioner, and blow out. This lady kept cutting my hair and cutting and cutting. I had long bangs that outgrew and I was okay with that, but she said she would clean it up. She CHOPPED the bangs off so much. They were about two inches above my eyebrows. Picture that for a second. So now, my hair was down to my back and now is chopped off to my shoulders and my bangs are completely ridiculous. When I stopped her from continuing cut, she grabbed a mirror and showed me the back of my hair. It was completely uneven; completely. So she began to fix it and continue cutting. She then whacked me on my eyebrow with the brush and she absolutely did not know how to properly part my hair as a professional stylist and blow dry my hair. She seemed like it was her first time blow drying. I have to question if she is a licensed stylist just by the entire experience. I approached the owner who took me to the back and evened the hair out and tried to blow try my hair to attempt to fix it. He asked if I gave her a photo of what I wanted and I said no because it was supposed to simply be a trim. No more than an inch and a half at most. I looked at how horrible my hair was at this point and kept saying, "I can't believe this." No discount and I paid ladies. That is the last money they will ever see from me. I will never return and I have spread the word. This is unacceptable, especially after I heard the owner and the manager talking badly about me as if I had no reason to be upset. This experience was traumatic and now I'm dealing with people asking me, "what happened to your hair?" It's nothing I can do and I have to just wait until my hair grows out a little. But the bangs? There's nothing I can do to even move it away or hide it. This is the WORST haircut I've ever received and I hope all reading this caution before coming here for a trim. Especially since there are other clients that have complained about bad haircuts here.
