Found a Groupon for a lymphatic facial massage which I was super excited about. Previously, I had been interested in lymphatic drainage but all of the locations I found were in the city, which is a bit far for me. When I found out that VM Beauty Spa in Englewood offered it, I knew I had to give it a shot. The spa is located in a beautiful suite in Englewood. They offer many services included hair! I was arriving a bit late due to heavy traffic, but Stefanie was very accommodating and they still honored my hour service, even with me being tardy. Nelly performed my service and she was great! She is very kind and gentle! She explained the process to me and I felt amazing afterwards and so did my skin! I suffer from occasional acne & the lymphatic draining is said to help with inflammation, in turn helping to come down flare ups. I had an amazing experience and will be back! Came because I got a good price Groupon, for a express keratin treatment. Upon entering the receptionist tried to upsell me to the more extensive and expensive keratin treatment. I declined as I did not want something so permanent and the exposure to the formaldehyde. The beautician also attempted to upsell me, but was understanding of my reasoning for maintaining the express treatment. There was an additional charge of $45 based on the length of my hair that was not disclosed in the Groupon purchase, nor while scheduling the appointment. All in all the stylist was very kind and friendly. She did a very good job and they did offer me coffee/tea during the treatment. All in all, it was a summer adventure, but I do not like the effect the treatment had on my hair so I would not do it again. While checking out, they did offer a comprehensive package as a new client that includes a facial, a massage and a blowout for $180 but I declined. read more

Place can definitely improve costumer service, very hard to get in touch with them, no matter how many times you call, there's no answer. They keep you on the waiting area for as long as they want or call you just few minutes before your appointment to inform you they can't see you at the time of your appointment. But if you are late they just cancel your appointment because it's too hard to accommodate you, definitely they don't care at all for the costumers, only in the moment they are selling you those expensive packages they are nice with you, after that is all about the place. I tried booking an appointment for my wife, and the salon immediately tried to upcharge me over the phone before even seeing her hair, just because we were using a Groupon. When I pushed back, they gave me the runaround and refused to honor their own promotion. The place itself looks outdated and messy, and their attitude is manipulative and unhelpful. I purchased a Groupon for a Regular Keratin treatment 6/19 and was met with a lovley staff at VM Salon. It lasted a few hours but the job at the end was well done. The stylist listed to my needs - although I had to pay an extra $30 on top of the Groupon which they were clear about before they begin based on your hair length. So thank you! read more

I had a gel mani/pedi with Victoria who is very qualified and did a great job. Coffee/tea is offered which is nice. The place is very quiet, with haircuts and massages going on in other rooms. I think I was the only mani/pedi. I was disappointed in the pedicure because of the lack of equipment. No massage chair, no bubbling jets, and no foot and leg massage. My feet were just sitting in warm soapy water in a plastic container. The price was good. I guess you get what you pay for! read more

Just finished my gel manicure/pedicure. Kind of mad at myself for ignoring the signs during booking. I don't see myself ever coming back. I arrived 10 minutes early, but we got started 10 minutes late. The regular price is $65 and I paid about $40 with the Groupon. The pedicure chair was broken so no in-chair massage, the equipment is old, and the bathroom was out of paper towels so I had to use the paper towel roll they placed on top of the toilet Gel manicure: I asked for square shape, and the pictures speak for themselves. The shapes are square-ish, but not at all uniform. Overall I felt like I was being rushed out. My manicurist, Mercedes, didn't give me a towel or pad, just had my hands and wrists on the countertop. Maybe it was a punishment for using a Groupon ‍ I will say Yolanda was much better. I noticed she did a much better job with my mom's nails. Overall I think they're trying to charge premium prices for below average service. read more

I am not the one to leave bad reviews like this one but I am into an honest business and this sure as hell felt the opposite. I found this place via GROUP ON and got suckered into to the first timer package. I should've known then this was not a place to continue to come back to as on top of my Groupon I ended up spending another $90 or so for the high-lights (this was supposed to be included but the manager was like oh well partial highlights only cover 6 strips and so this would be full head ... I know my terms. She didn't even touch the bottom of my head but she sure as hell charged me for one). Every time I have gone since then I have had some issue with the service, got hit with a surprise charge or got cornered into spending additional $$. Here are a few things that went wrong: - I was given random bangs when I asked for a face frame, - I asked for brown natural highlights and got a bright orange and brassy (frankly she got lazy and didn't tone my hair like she was supposed. - I asked for a manicure and instead my cuticles ripped out weird and took months to recover from. So come here if you like inconsistency when it comes to hair cuts or dyeing your hair. And DEFINITELY come here if you like random additional charges when you're coming for a simple service. read more

Bravo ladies! Great experience all around and great customer service. I came for a spa day with my home girls to reward ourselves from dealing with so much during the pandemic. We booked a 90 min massage, pedicure and manicure. Since it's the three of us, they tried to keep us in unison but you know there's always a late comer in the group. All in all, we were able to get our pedicures and mania done together. They offered us drinks and fresh fruit which was so delicious. My massage was done by Lisette who was absolutely amazing. I felt like a brand new person leaving. I was only able to get my pedicure since it started to get late and I needed to get my son. The owner was so nice that she allowed me to come back another day to get my manicure, in which I did and the service was just as great. I booked another 90 minute massage for August. I don't really get my nails done that often, but I wanted a gel manicure and called VM Spa. They told me that they could take me right away. When I walked in I was greeted right away by Yolanda and she hung up my coat for me. I noticed right away that the place didn't have a strong odor like most nail salons and it was a very relaxing environment. Came here for a brazilian wax. Nice staff, clean establishment, and my service was done in a timely manner. I've had brazilians done in a more efficient manner, and everything in the nether region was taken off- whereas my waxer at VM ignored the upper-inner leg area, where the leg meets the body. Felt like the job was unfinished, which is why I knocked off one star. Also, if all the "Doctor" parking spots are taken, don't park in a tenant spot because your car will get towed, apparently. I needed a mini break and booked a spa facial. I got the confirmation phone call two business days prior. On the day of the appointment I arrived ten minutes before my appointment, and proceeded to wait an additional fifteen minutes until I was noticed. A woman came over to ask what service i was there for, and then offered me coffee. The Fed Ex driver came in with a delivery and have up after five minutes. At 11:15 another worker came up to deal with the UPS delivery and also asked me what I was there for. She then realized that she couldn't see me until around twelve. I declined, she then offered to reschedule to another date an offered a free add on but I declined that as well since this was my first time there, my first impression wasn't great and I cannot imagine any improvement. read more

I don't like leaving bad reviews, but I have to in this instance. When I made the appointment I was told that if I don't cancel within 24 hours or don't show up then I will be charged a fee of $25. Which is ridiculous to do if you're not a doctors office. Either way, the morning of my appointment they canceled on me! You only have one technician??? When I finally made it to the appointment for my manicure and pedicure the tech was very nice. There were things out of her control. The pedicure chairs were broken. So there was no massage. And you might think that because there's no massage you would get a longer leg massage, but even that was the shortest leg rub I've ever gotten from a manicurist. There was no tub to soak my feet. They literally get a bucket and fill it with soapy water from another room and bring it back. So there's no Jets, there's no heat and no bubbles. And your feet are left sitting in a lukewarm soapy water. The gel manicure was okay. But I wanted matte polish and they didn't have matte. The tech said the owner didn't want to buy matte. Would it kill a place to supply matte polish for a few extra bucks when you charge so much for gel? Not that I paid full price, I went here because of a Groupon. The chairs were horribly uncomfortable, as well. It's an outdated facility that over charges. I didn't even get a hot towel after my gel. She barely used any lotion on me. It was almost like they're trying to save money. I would never go back here again. read more

I redeemed a Groupon back in August for a keratin treatment. I knew I would have to pay extra since my hair is very long but don't remember it being too much. I made a pretty last minute appointment and the service/attention I received was EXCELLENT. At one point there were two ladies doing my hair at the same time, but I never felt rushed. The owner gave me a haircut as well (I believe I paid $20 extra) and she did a phenomenal job, my hair still looks super healthy now! I plan on going back for another treatment in January. Although I've written my fair share of reviews in the past, I've never written one for a massage/spa service. I really just have to say that Lisette was incredible during my massage today. Her technique and flow were impeccable! She made me feel very comfortable and insisted I tell her if I didn't like the pressure at any time during the massage. It was probably one of the best massages I've had and again it really had to do with technique and the different parts of her hands/arms she would use.. I never once felt pain. As an added bonus she really stretched me out in useful ways since I've upped my physical activities. read more

I then received an awesome haircut from the owner, Maria. I was able to schedule a mani/pedi for the following day and again the women exceeded my expectations. Yolanda gave me a perfect manicure and the lady with the curly hair whose name I forgot :/ gave me the best pedicure I have ever gotten. i've been to this salon twice- i purchased a groupon for a gel manicure. they offered to honor groupon prices for the next three visits. the first time i went i was very happy with my nails so i decided to go back. my second appointment was for a gel mani and pedi with the same person but when i arrived, another technician did my toe nails. my toes look like they've been sanded off and chewed on. my gel manicure felt really rushed as they scheduled my appointment for an hour and a half. i left with hangnails and bubbles under my manicure. i will not be back. read more

VM Beauty Spa quickly became my go to spa for all services. After frequenting this salon for a year I feel that I am qualified to write an honest and in-depth review. I'm also a spa and blowout aficionado so my knowledge runs deep. I do my hair, mani-pedis, facials and massages here. I'm an Afro-Caribbean (black) client and they have done wonders with my hair. The scalp treatments have soothed and transformed my very dry scalp. I'm also quite happy with the Keratin treatments and I'm very picky and particular about Keratin. Overall, I'm happy with my hair care and maintenance. The massages are comparable to the medical massages. I used to get a medical massage twice a week at a "spa like" clinic. The facials are also high quality. VM Beauty Spa carries some of my favorite products. They offer Sothys Paris skincare products. Therefore, I highly recommend VM Beauty Spa. read more

So I recently went in for a facial as a gift from my girlfriend, as she has been going routinely to see Maria (who was referred to by her family!), and has experienced a tremendous improvement in her skin quality, and in turn, her happiness! When I walked in I instantly felt comfortable being greeted by Heather. The place was super clean and great vibe. She offered hot tea and water, and told me to hang out for a few minutes. Then Maria came and introduced herself, I already knew I was in good hands because of my girlfriend's experiences! Maria is truly a master at her craft, a true professional and awesome person! I can tell she really loves to help people. She explained what she was doing during the facial which kept me knowledgable about skin care. Maria's technique and her 20+years experience definitely shows. As if the facial wasn't already relaxing, I received a upper back/neck massage by Maria which was incredible, AND a foot massage at the same time by a nice young lady, I didn't catch her name because I was so relaxed/half asleep, haha. MIRACULOUS!!!! I honestly can't say enough good things about this place. I followed my manicurist, Yolanda here from her last salon, as I have NEVER found anyone who can come close to doing as good a mani-pedi as she can, and I am so glad I did.
