Please note that I have written my review specifically for O La La Hair Design at 895 Palisade Avenue, Fort Lee, New Jersey. This salon is in an easily accessible area, has parking, is welcoming, clean, comfortable, and the fee structure is consistent with industry standards for the level of expertise offered. I found that Walid Elkhechen (Wally) is an incredible Master Stylist. I found his talent to be equal to or even better for me than top salons in NYC that I occasionally visited for special occasions such as John Barrett Salon in Bergdorf Goodman and Fredrick Fekkai's flagship on Fifth Avenue because he actually listened very carefully to what I wanted and his end result produced an exquisite cut with an amazing comb-out. He is also punctual and has impressive patience, is exceptionally talented and has decades of expertise to offer his clients. Not everyone has the ability to make fine hair look terrific but Wally has the wonderful creative ability to do so! Finding a stylist and a salon I truly click with is like hitting the jackpot! I got there a little early to get myself settled in and I was greeted and advised to get seated for my hair treatments. The manicure and pedicure however were a total nightmare. No one seemed to be available and they asked if I can come back at 5 o'clock or the following day - I said absolutely not - either we had someone available I will just leave and call it a day. The woman who did my hair then convinced me that another lady available was able to give me a beautiful pedicure. However that was a complete lie. As pleasant as that woman was she had no idea how to give a pedicure and I declined the manicure because the inept pedicure took 2 hours!! The woman also completely cut two of my toenails way too deep resulting in a really uneven, horrible look that even my seven year old son said me and my feet look funny. But that's not the worst thing that happened. The woman who did my hair calculated the total amount and I gave her the money with that amount however I asked for the individual amounts and then she gave me a different total. When she brought my change back she calculated it based off of what she told me was the revised amount but I had paid based off of the original amount that she told me. She said that that didn't happen and proceeded to tell me that I had not given her the amount I did.What a completely disappointing and horrible experience. I would have been willing to overlook the bad pedicure as well as the miscalculated amounts and totals however telling me that I didn't pay the money that I know I gave is absolutely insane. She was clearly trying to keep my change as a tip while I had asked for change for another bill to do exactly that. Please avoid this place. I left in tears.

Although they do a good job the experience once again was horrible, and I do not regret my choice of leaving this nail salon. My husband and I had 1 PM appointments for a couples pedicure and then I had a gel manicure appointment for immediately after. They were overbooked and understaffed and could not help us. They told us we could get pedicures, but we could not be near each other so we couldn't have that couples experience That we were looking for. However, they sat us in these two random chairs filled the pedicure bucket with water and left us there for 30 minutes. They clearly were not ready for us once again. Amy was not there and they were having such a difficult time accommodating people who had appointments. I do not recommend this nail salon.
