I went to see Dr.Pick for a cleaning and check up. I was in a massive amount of pain. He gave me stretches to and otc meds to take and a week later I'm am 98% healed . I cannot saw enough about this office. First Linda the office manager is a god send. Linda knows her job extremly well knows every task in that office and works with her team. Knowledabke on all insurance plans and can answer any question you have. Always friendly and extremely helpful. My son had no insurance and worked with her to get him in and reasonable rate The office staff all works together as a team and works well together. Office is a very friendly atmosphere and I love going in the office to see them all. There is a newer dentist there Annu Bhalla. I cannot say enough what a great dentist. Teresa was able to help me adjust my emergency appointment even when I had something from work come up and couldn't make it at my scheduled time. Recently I became a member of CIGNA Medicare Advantage Dental HMO, haven chosen this plan specifically because it included an extensive dental plan. CIGNA assigned me to Gentle Dental Marana although I had never been to this office but trusted CIGNA's assignment. I prefer to be called Mrs. " " by people I don't personally know and don't call people I don't know by their first names, no matter their job or status. I make my preference known before initially encountering others as I am super uncomfortable being familiar with people I don't know and will never have a personal relationship with. I'm aware that this is no longer a common practice nevertheless, it reflects my upbringing and preference. I rarely encounter anyone who can't/won't respect my wishes in that regard. An X-ray tech did 18 x-rays, a 360° x-ray and used a small hand held camera to take extensive "photos" of my teeth. She was taciturn but professional. Suddenly, with no introduction, in swept Dr. Gentle Dental Marana to the examine room using my first name. I responded Mrs. " " and he said what? I replied Mrs. " " to which he scowled and didn't comply. To lighten the moment I joked "unless of course I may call you by your first name" to which he let out an exasperated sound while raising his eyebrows. During our entire interaction he was seated to my left and behind me so we had no eye contact. He asked questions about my visit, I answered them and then he abruptly lowered my chair to such an extent that my head was lower than my feet and the middle section of the chair was digging in my back. Before I could say anything the tech tried to place an unclean pair of dark glasses over my eyes, when I asked why she told me because of the bright lights so asked if I could wear my sunglasses to which they both replied with audibly annoyed monosyllabic assents. Dr. Gentle Dental Maraha examed my teeth and called out to his tech diagnoses including "needs to go" several times. Finally, I asked "does "needs to go" mean extraction?" "Yes." No explanation for his opinions or conclusions followed during or after the exam. As I previously stated he was seated behind me during the exam and after, did not raise my seat, never faced me or looked in my direction even when speaking directly to me. I did ask if he could face me or move his seat so we could see one another he said "No, there isn't enough space." A thin, small young man, seated on an armless wheeled chair, Dr. Gentle Dental Marana kept the space between his chair and me to well over foot on every side. When I pointed this out, he refused to look at me, got up, and in an irritated, petulant voice stormed out of the exam room dramatically crying "I'm DONE!" Not before concluding the exam by saying". . . and we offer free orthodontic consults" as though doing so was a magnanimous gesture. I remain disappointed and flabbergasted that a medical professional during our entire encounter behaved in such an immature, discourteous manner. I called CIGNA and immediately got a 2nd opinion and received all of the x-rays I'd just had done (without having to pay Dr. Gentle Dental's exorbitant fee). Immediately made an appointment with Perfect Teeth ABC on Stone Ave. and affirmed the dentist had experience - he did - more than 30 years. His staff was polite and responsive, even calling me Mrs. " " without being asked or prompted! Subsequently, I received excellent and courteous care by Dr. Perfect Teeth ABC and lost not a single tooth to extraction. I can only assume Dr. Gentle Dental Marana has a very large dental school debt and feels tremendous pressure to get as many procedures done on as many people as possible in the shortest time frame evidenced by his blatant disrespectful and discourteous treatment of me. Ultimately, my dental treatment cost several thousand dollars which I gladly paid to Dr. Perfect Teeth ABC. A patient is a paying customer, Dr Gentle Dental Marana. I visited Gentle Dental to have an issue addressed. The staff and dentist were all very professional, helpful and attentive. If I can find one blemish with my experience there it was an employee who was very condescending to an employee in my presence. Which I discovered was her standard practice. I was scheduled for an appointment on Memorial Day. I specifically asked if they would be open that day and I was assured that the office would be open. When I arrived for my appointment, the office was closed. I thought I was being punked. I called the office and left a message asking for a call back for an explanation as to why I would be scheduled for an appointment if they were not going to be open and they never called me back. I am a nervous/anxious person in general. Going to the dentist office is kinda terrifying for me. However the hygienist ( I think her name is Amanda) was very gentle and kind. She stopped a little bit throughout the cleaning to ask if I was doing okay? Very good bedside manner. The X-ray tech Louis was funny, charming, and very thorough. He had to fit my mouth for a mouth guard and wasn't happy w/ how the first one turned out so he took another mold, hence attention to detail. The dentist was also great. The front office staff was very pleasant too. I honestly can't say enough about the experience. I will keep going to gentle dental. I don't think I need to be so in my head and nervous to get dental work done anymore as long as I keep going here. read more

I have been a patient at Gentle dental Marana for several years. This is the first time I am completely unhappy with the dentist. On 6/21/22 the dentist did several fillings on my front teeth . I started to have throbbing pain that night and on the right side my tooth became red and I had swelling. I couldn't brush my teeth. I had to take Ibuprofen for 4-5 days and took antibiotics which I am still taking. Today was the first time I could brush my front teeth. I have had filling before and never had a problem. If there was a negative star option, I would use it for this review. I will start at the first time I called to schedule an appointment. Recording says to press 1 for new patients so I pressed 1and was directed to an offshore call center. Really?! The office called later stating they needed the same information I painfully gave to the call center and told me to always press 2-kind of late for that information. I scheduled a cleaning appointment and was disappointed that the gal used a machine to clean my teeth. My teeth did not feel clean. I received reminder after reminder for the appointment and was feeling a touch of harassment but overlooked it. I needed a crown and scheduled that appointment and again received reminder after reminder. I needed to reschedule that appointment and called the office and had to leave a voicemail. No one called me back so I called again the following afternoon. No one called me back. It was getting closer to the appointment date that I needed to change so I drove over to the office to change it in person. When I mentioned that no one called me back the gal said they were really busy. Hmmmm.... I bit my tongue but was close to telling her that perhaps if she and another employee weren't having personal conversations while I waited to be acknowledged, she would have more time to serve customers. Crown appointment day arrived and the dentist seemed nice. The temporary felt fine but when I got home my night guard didn't fit well. I mentioned it to the assistant and dentist and the assistant said I needed a new guard. I have had quite a few crowns and only had to have 1 new guard due to the type and location of the dental work. I told the assistant that and when the dentist came in he said "we will take care of the night guard". I thanked him and he set the permanent crown. They were very busy that day and when leaving I mentioned to the assistant that I looked forward to hearing from them soon regarding the guard and she said okay. Following that, there were multiple family issues that I was dealing with and I didn't have time to follow up with Gentle Dental. I called the office on a Friday, left a voicemail again because they can't seem to answer the phone. I called back on the following Tuesday afternoon and a gal actually answered the phone. When I mentioned that I had not heard back she said they closed early that Friday sand I responded that it was now Tuesday. Yes, there was frustration in my voice! I explained the situation and she was not helpful so I asked to speak to the manager but she was not there but I was told she would call me back. In the mean time, I left a voicemail for corporate customer support and one for the CEO. I spoke with the manager today and feel frustration, disappointment but not surprised with response received. Linda the manager let me briefly explain my concerns before she talked and talked and talked. Finally when she was referring to braces, retainers, etc. that have no relevance to me what so ever, I had to talk over her to get her to listen. Needless to say, Gentle Dental will do nothing for me. I immediately began writing this review in hopes that sharing my experience will prevent others from a similar experience. read more

Their new stranger hygienist have decided to shave my front teeth. That idiot butcher started "whitening" by aggressive polishing my already bonded front teeth and made huge holes corrosion from that heavy pushy treatment peeled off 3-4 layers of enamel, shortened teeth and now whole smile looks like a RAT grin. Where do they get their butthanded "specialists" and also rude, arrogant and ignorant??? Nobody asked me a single question how I want to "whitening" or "polishing", or "even up" my teeth. No just shaved off half inch of length and 20% of enamel. Now my teeth look flat, short, and thin like a RAT. If anybody wants such an UGLY 1 minute image downgrade, then always go to Rudegentle Dental butcher "specialists". Un-freakin'-believable. Everyone needs to check their co-pay. Do not pay a co-pay for them if your insurance covers it because they pocket the money. When I went back to collect my money after I called my insurance they said I never gave them $50 in cash. Do not pay them. Check with your insurance first you'll be much better off and you'll save yourself a lot of money if you go somewhere else make sure you check the better business bureau. They have some scheduling difficulties in this office. They have called me to reschedule an appointment they had booked me for and then the next time I came in they told me my appointment had been cancelled because the hygienist left. It would have been nice to be informed of that before I drove over, but the reason I won't be going back is today someone from scheduling called me to see if my son would be coming in for his appointment on Monday. I asked her what the date was and she snapped at me and said Monday, I obviously meant which Monday. She was so rude to me the entire conversation I told her, you know what, just forget it. The dentist was always pleasant to speak with and did a good job so if you can handle the scheduling issues and horrible front office employee, then I'd recommend but I just can't stand being treated rudely by staff especially after being patient with their issues. read more

I came here 2 years ago for a general checkup and was told by Dr. Valdez I needed to have a filling done, which seems like no big deal. I don't have any fears of the dentist and will happily sit knowing my teeth are being taken care of. This filling ended up being a nightmare. It took an extremely long time and when it was over, he basically patted himself on the back because it was such a "deep filling" and he had to "construct" so much of the tooth he had removed and he wasn't sure it would work! It hurt to chew on that side for 6 months and I was told by his office that it's normal. Fast forward to my appointment today where my new dentist was appalled by the fact Dr. Valdez would ever remove so much tooth so close to the nerve instead of recommending a crown. It was compared to fillings military would get that are fast and cheap and it's already showing signs of decay just 2 years later. I wanted to give Dr. Valdez the benefit of the doubt but I knew after that visit that my family and myself would not be returning. Consider going somewhere else if you have the choice. read more

I was told this last visit that I would "have" to do a deep cleaning and they would not provide the regular cleaning that I was scheduled for. The hygienist was very rude and spoke to me like I am a disobedient child. I have since changed dentists and will not return. I cannot speak for all of Gentle Dental only at the Arizona Pavilions. Went there because I didn't know any better spent a few thousand,I would go for cleaning they would always say you should have Floride trement. At my age 68 made no sense but I take there word,a few months after treatment a cracked tooth. Ok they say you need a Crown I go for it. Down the road cleaning more Floride again a cracked tooth another crown. I GO ON LINE TO MUCH FLORIDE BRITTLE TEETH. Watch out for them I now go to Mexico through Reco much cheaper and the stand by there Crowns not like the states. read more

The customer service is great and the work is good too. The reason for the 1 star is because they are grossly over priced. I got charged more than a $100 for nothing more than a evaluation. Then they tried to sell me on deep cleaning (which would have cost hundreds of dollars more) when another dentist that I consulted afterwards said I only needed cleaning. The charges I just spoke of was AFTER my insurance kicked in. I can get better and more honest service elsewhere. read more

I just want to say thank you gentle dental. I made an appointment for today at 5:30pm. I left work 45 minutes early to make it on time. When I arrived the doors are locked. An office person came out to tell me the they are closed. I showed her the email confirmation that gentle dental sent to me she then stated "it must have been our call center that made that appointment I would have never made it" and then proceeded to tell me I can call back tomorrow for a new appointment. I had been a patient of Gentle Dental Marana for a few years now, mostly for cleanings. What I liked about the office was that they scheduled to see patients as late as 5:00pm. Normally, I schedule my cleaning six months in advance and I started noticing a pattern of the office trying to contact (usually on the day of) my appointment asking me to come in earlier. So this time I refused because I could not afford to miss any more work and they told me they could not see me (even though I was scheduled to see them in two hours) because they cannot have staff just waiting for me for 3 hours. Are you kidding me... I asked why they schedule the late appointments but cannot accommodate them. Shame on you Gentle Dental. With all the competition out there one would think you would strive to provide excellent customer service and respect others time.
