After my last experience, I just can't take this anymore. I have been coming here for 15 plus years and it once was a great dental office to go to but has declined over the years. Before choosing another dental office I decided to change locations to see if that makes a difference and give it another try. Still not happy with the overall experience. My Periodontist Dr. Buddula who is amazing and one of the reasons I decided to stay with GD so long and after him asking he genuinely listened and cared and encouraged me to give the Redmond office another try. He is the only bright spot in my overall experience with GD. I really hoped that it was going to be better this time. Unfortunately, I can say I t wasn't. One of my recent experiences was trying to get a tooth repaired that I was having pain with scheduled. The receptionist was helping to get it booked and found a time that wasn't too far out. She then said, oh sorry, it just got taken by an online appt. . I mentioned, I didn't know you could book appts online? Her reply was new patients can schedule an appt online. Huh? I thought to myself a new patient can take my appt I was about to schedule for a tooth that was in pain from an established patient. That just seems wrong to me that an established patient looses out on an appt for someone who is new to the office. It's ridiculous a patient has to wait over a month to get a tooth repaired, especially when they are experiencing pain. After many negative experiences and now my recent experience I can no longer take this anymore. I've recently had 2 calls to reschedule appts as they couldn't keep them for whatever reason. Rearranging my work schedule to accommodate appts only to have to reschedule again. After multiple scheduling and billing issues and a list of many other issues, far too many to list here , I'm done! I was a loyal patient over the years but the loyalty doesn't reciprocate. You're just another name in their system. I have given them many opportunities to improve but I have come to the point to where I'm done and can no longer put up with the lack of care or dedication for their patients. read more

There are two types of dentist in the world. The first type of dentist is kind of like a doctor for your teeth. They have a hygienist to clean the teeth mostly and they have to x-ray them and then they go over the x-rays and they examine if you have cavity, they fill it and if not, they gives you Sticker and a toothbrush and tell you to come back in six months to make sure that everything is continuing to do fine. You have dental sales people. These are people who also check up a spot in dentistry school and their goal is to sell you as much work as possible encouraging that you ring up $10 on CareCredit they do an incredible amount of reconstructive work that is completely necessary because your teeth did not have anything wrong. This is the case here. I've had regular dental for over 10 years. I've had old fillings changed occasionally. Something might come up, but we've remained on top of this and I do not have any gingival/gum disease. I did, however, attempt to open up a jar with my teeth I know that's not good, And. It cracked a very thin and around the thickness of the kernel of a popcorn, x-rays indicated that this was really a flake calving off and that there was not likely to be problems underneath, but it was Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the dentist who squeezed me in ( and they were closed Friday) suggested that when I got to Washington, I should have it looked into other than that my teeth were fine no sign of gum disease no gingivitis I do have some stains on molars from braces that I wore 40 years ago but the teeth are fine they're in the back of my mouth so the stains aren't hideous it's all good. But my dentist asked that I get it checked out when I got here and my first week in Washington I go to the dentist and according to her I am in desperate need of no less than 10 crowns. I don't have any cavities I don't have any gum disease and all of my old fillings have been replaced with modern resin fillings. There is no medical need for any crowns at this time, but they wanted to give me 10 crowns and encouraged me to put the cost - tens of thousands of dollars, on care credit. If you go into any dental office and you see the CareCredit brochure, do not even bother to get the cleaning they just leave and go somewhere else. I went through the same thing about 17 years ago in Los Angeles - they suggested over a dozen crowns -$22k worth, that needed to be done right away. They scared me but I ultimately I didn't get the work done - now 17 years later no repercussions because that work wasn't medically necessary. So to me this seems like a scam, and one I was familiar with. It's been 3 months, the flake fell off from flossing but the dentin is hard underneath, no pain etc. Can I also say that the office is just incompetent the first time I was there they neglected to write the appointment down or verify my insurance so they sent me home the second time they had still not verified my insurance the third time they called me up, saying that the dentist couldn't make it the day before that I had been double booked so maybe it was the Universe telling me that this place would not work outso between the incompetent office staff and the lack professional morals of the dentist, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else Also, I think the photos are stock photos. read more

Got my x rays, scheduled for a deep cleaning. Was told my appointment was on thursday and even screenshotted the text. Was not told what my copay would be. Get in, appointment was on wednesday, surprise 95 dollar co pay. 50 dollar late fee with no chance of reschedule, and my insurance runs out tomorrow. Terrible business practices, communication, and overall trying to rush me to schedule procedures without telling me costs. read more

This is the worst dental office I had the displeasure of knowing. For the last five years I have been a patient I have had to deal with over payments, bad dental work and unwillingness to correct the problem without being forced to do so. I had an implant put in and it came loose after a year, when I tried to have it corrected, I was given the run around at first, and when they finally fix the implant they wanted me to pay for their negligence, it took me almost six months to have them remove the charges. Then I had a crown placed on a different tooth, and they tried to charge me $100s of dollars more than my insurance contract, it took three months to clear the over billing. Recently the same crown came off, and I asked if they would re-cemented I was told I had to pay to do so since it was of 3 months old and since the doctor whom done the original work is not available. I strongly urge anyone interested in going to this office for treatment to seriously reconsider. read more

I received a bill a year after I received treatment. No one in the office could explain why or what the bill was for. I was told they changed systems and lost information. I left multiple messages and did not receive a call back. This is certainly the most disorganized and poorly run medical office I have ever used. Right down the road is Redmond Way Dentistry. I normally visit the Kirkland clinic but had to stop by to see the endodontist Dr. Kang for a possible root canal consultation. The staff were very friendly and the clinic was clean. Dr. Kang was kind and professional and thoroughly explained what was going on with my tooth. He performed a few sensitivity tests and decided that my tooth fracture was minimal enough to skip the root canal for now, but if it got any worse, we could have it done at that time. I appreciated his honesty and patience in waiting and seeing instead of going straight for the root canal! read more

Save yourself the headache. It's quite unfortunate as the Dentist and Dental assistants were pretty good. It's the business practices/accounting you need to be aware of. It started with them basically ignoring my instructions to "not do anything that isn't covered by my insurance" and used materials/procedures not covered stating "we don't use the cheaper materials that your insurance covers" when fixing a cavity for my daughter and other work for my wife and son. Then I started noticing that there would always be a big difference between the quote versus what we actually were requested to pay. Finally, after dealing with more of their funny business, I had had enough and decided to go request an explanation of those "unapproved" procedures (there were a couple as we are a family of four) that I noticed only happened when my limited-english speaking wife went or took our kids without me present. As I'm discussing the shady accounting and requesting that they close our account and provide me my family's dental records, a lady I'd never seen came from the back and just stares at me as I'm discussing this with the receptionist. She claimed she could assist me with my issue. We go to her office and for the next 20 to 30 minutes she proceeds to go from pretending to be concerned to making random phone calls to her "manager"(who I never heard from by the way). As my frustration builds, I ask her directly "Can you help me?" to which she responds with more platitudes. As you can imagine, after dealing with this businesses questionable accounting then to have my time wasted was pretty upsetting so I stated to her repeatedly "Why are you wasting my time. Can you help me with this issue". She finally admitted there was nothing she could do so, I stood up, walked out of her office, proceeded to the exit, then remembered that I didn't receive our records. I returned to request our records and she was back at the counter stating "Leave now or we will call the police" I laughed and said "Why? What have I done? Just because I called you out on your B.S.? Seriously? Fine, I'll leave!" And I did exactly that, LEFT! As I'm driving down the street, about 20 minutes later, my phone rings. My phone shows the Gentle Dental number so, thinking they were going to apologize or, at the very least, give us our records. But NO......It was a call from their office, but the voice on the other end begins "Is this Mr. Hicks? I'm officer xxxxx and Gentle Dental has requested a trespass warning be filed against you. If you come within xxxx amount of feet of the business you will be prosecuted for criminal trespassing" Yes, I was stunned!!! Not only had we not figured out this financial issue, I still hadn't received my family's dental records, AND I could face criminal conviction if I even attempt to go there to discuss either. My final recourse was to contact my insurance company and have them talk to Gentle Dental on my behalf and get the financial situation figured out. They reached a final amount that I have since paid(grudgingly or course). I still have yet to hear from that "Manager" and........... WE STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED OUR DENTAL RECORDS FROM THIS PLACE or confirmation that our account has been closed. read more

I showed up early to my appointment to have my teeth cleaned. The receptionist was tending to someone so she asked me to sit down. Finally, after nearly 15 minutes, she started the check-in procedure. She told me she texted a bunch of paperwork to me. I told her never to text anything because I get charged. I prefer email. She printed out the paperwork and it took me another 20 minutes to complete it all. She also showed me an extensive itemized list of services with items that I didn't want. Mind you, I've already been to this office. The hygienist approached me but I was still filling out the paperwork so I told her I wasn't ready. I finished the paperwork hygienist came back and led me to the chair. I told her the chair is wet. She wiped it down again to get rid of the moisture. She wanted to take x-rays. I told her no x-rays today. I like to control the amount of radiation that's directed at me when possible. X-rays next time. She polished my teeth first, which is the reverse of what I've experience for decades before. She left me alone for another 20 minutes until the doctor came in to clean my teeth. The doctor was nice enough. Cleaned my teeth and that was that. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS DUMP AGAIN!!! Total assembly line atmosphere. Just want to squeeze as much cash out of your wallet as possible. I know they were disgusted with me too because they didn't even try to schedule me for a 6 month cleaning. The absolute sweetest staff! I used to go to another local dentist office, and always felt like I was an inconvenience to them, and was whisked in and out each time. Gentle Dental Redmond has been the COMPLETE opposite. The staff is SO friendly, and during my filling, the dentist reminded me to breath when I got a little nervous. I seriously couldn't be happier! I have been fighting an abscess that has been pretty resistant to antibiotics... however they got me in two times (first for new antibiotics ) then they brought me back for an emergency root canal. Dr. Fairlee went above and beyond for me! She did all she could to get me numb even though it's very hard to numb with an infection. she talked me through it all and constantly made sure I was okay. everyone is amazing. highly recommend. read more

Worst dental group I've EVER had the misfortune of going to. (Insurance my bf had with Microsoft forced us to go there.) The dentist when I went in 2006 was more interested in her pregnancy than my safety. I have a latex allergy, which results in anaphylactic shock if it comes in contact with me. It was marked on my file with a BIG RED NOTE but she continually ignored it. On one occasion she actually got her hand in my mouth (thank god no actual contact before I realized what the hell she was doing...). When confronted why she continued to put latex gloves on repeatedly despite being aware of my allergy, she said "The vinyl ones are uncomfortable." ... Wow. Guess your comfort is more important than me continuing to live, lady. She improperly did two fillings in my mouth, one of which resulted in me needing a root canal because of her incompetence. She also did work on my boyfriend's teeth and did substantially more work than we were informed she was doing, then her rude office manager DEMANDED IMMEDIATE PAYMENT when we were not informed what was being done. Upon asking for another dentist in the practice to undo the damage she had done, I was informed that they would no longer be accepting me as a patient, even though I was extremely polite about the whole situation, despite the abuse we had put up with from the office manager and dentist. The dental assistants were very kind though. Upon further inspection I no longer see her on their website, however I still would not recommend services there to my worst enemy. Beware. read more

Gentle Dental is a terrible name. Dentists have to scrape stuff off your teeth. This is unpleasant no matter how you look at it. Do not go here and expect that your teeth will be cleaned with soft and fluffy pieces of clouds. Those do not remove plaque. I've moved a lot, and I can say with some confidence that Gentle Dental does a better job cleaning my teeth than any other place I've been. Yesterday, my teeth had all kinds of tartar and coffee stains on them, which is my fault because I drink a lot of tartar and coffee. Today, my pearly whites are, actually, pearly and white. It makes me sad to write such a poor review on something that a lot of people have a fear of seeing. I made an appointment with Gentle Dental based on the reviews, I am in college and decided that this place would be better for me to get my wisdom teeth extracted since it is close to my parents house so I could be taken care of if there was complications. I arrived about 20 minutes early, and was seen right away. I told the oral surgeon that I had a great fear of the dentists, the assistants that were there were very accommodating. The we're telling me jokes while laying there to keep my heart rate down while they put the IV into my arm. Of course I do not remember waking up, which was what I was going for. They gave my prescription to my dad and sent me home. Once home I got a call from the office to see how I was doing, I was feeling fine since I still couldn't move my face and still extremely loopy. I am in nursing school, and have taken pharmacology classes, medical dosage classes and I am absolutely upset with the pain meds given to me (pretty much 350 mg of ibuprofen). About 4 pm, 3 hours after my procedures I was in excruciating pain. I called the office and they were closed for the weekend, but they said they had a 24 hour dentist for high pain after a procedure. I had my dad call because I couldn't even move my mouth due to pain and my mouth wasn't clotting. The 24 hour receptionist called me back about an hour later to set me up with an appointment at another location pretty much 24 hour from then, and was going to have the doctor call me and help me find something that helps with the pain since I wasn't not given an sheet that said anything. IT HAS BEEN 16 HOURS AND I STILL HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM THE 24 HOUR DENTIST AND CALLED AND LEFT MESSAGES MULTIPLE TIMES. I ended up going to the ER due to the pain, and all the nurses and the doctor laughed at the prescription given to someone who had all four wisdom teeth out and had complications with one of them. Very disappointed with all the great reviews I read. I would not recommend, their prices are more than other places that I was looking at. They try to dress up their facility with "we have 24 hour care if something is wrong", still waiting on that call Gentle Dental. read more

I have been a regular patient since 2018 and then during covid there management changed and things have gone downhill. my 1 star is for the kind of customer service they provide. i have been cancelled/re-scheduled out of my appointments on 4 consecutive occasions!! and every time its the same reason that our Hygienist took leave last minute. 4 consecutive reschedules is too much of a co-incidence!! Don't ever go to Gentle Dental Redmond! My experience has been a sheer nightmare and their customer service is pathetic. I went to Gentle Dental Redmond on Jan 7 for teeth cleaning. I specifically asked them to check with my insurance company regarding coverage/limits before providing any services. I told them if its not covered by insurance, I don't want the service. I was assured by multiple people that they have confirmed the same. I received multiple bills from their office from Jan to Mar. I called back several times for each bill and am asked to ignore these notices. When I requested to speak with the manager, I have always been told that the manager is not available and will call back in 1-2 days, but I have never received a call from the manager since Jan. Most recently I received a bill with collections warning from them, demanding payment by Apr 7. I made several calls again, but they did not resolve the issue and continued telling me to ignore the collections warning. I requested to speak to a manager several times and requested a written confirmation that I can ignore these notices, but they refused to give any such letter and no manager called me back for days. I finally received a call from the manager on Apr 4, just days before the account was due to be sent to collections. She raised her voice at me, provided no resolution or commitment to resolve the issue and also refused to confirm in writing that I ignore the collections notice warning. I have also called Gentle Dental grievance number several times and was told that I will get a call within 24 to 48 hours. I am still waiting for this call. read more

As someone who has historically been terrified of the dentist I couldn't have found a better home. Dr. Chan is patient, explains everything he is doing or is going to do, and answers all your questions. He even permits my asking the same thing multiple times, which has been known to happen. The front desk staff and the office manager are efficient and kind. Saturday and late night appointments are available. My teeth have never looked better and I don't shy away from scheduling appointments any longer. When you schedule your cleaning with a dental hygienist ask for Sophia. She is detailed and, frankly, a little OCD about her work (but that's what you WANT when you get your teeth cleaned, right!?). If you need a deep cleaning (and I did) you couldn't put your teeth into better hands. read more

The mark of any great business is the ability to communicate and work well with customers. Gentle Dental is as good as it gets. I work with Dr. Reed and I love him. He is funny, approachable, honest, and has made dental visits downright enjoyable for myself and my two young children. I recently had an issue wherein I had some pain following a visit, and encountered some issues with the admin and scheduling team. I felt frustrated, and angry. When I shared these concerns however, they were addressed and fixed so quickly that my head spun. It is evident that customer service and earning customer trust is a top priority at this practice. I learned that there is an on call dentist available to help whenever it is needed. So while I suffered through a weekend, I didn't have to. Use this service! Also, I learned that this company cares a lot about the experiences of their patients. They went above and beyond to make things right with me, and to make sure there was a plan of action moving forward to ease my pain and ensure that any potential dental issues were resolved. I tend to feel like when it comes to issues including professional services, you're likely to get similar treatments from business to business. A filling is a filling in a filling in almost any dental chair. What makes Gentle Dental special is their ability to care about their customers and make things right when it matters the most. read more

I was referred to Dr. Lin today for an emergency root canal and all I can say is wow! I am terrified of the dentist. Everything about it gives me anxiety. However I welcomed it today after having the worst tooth ache of my entire life all weekend. I was originally scheduled to come in a week and after calling in I received a call back that Dr. Lin and his assistant Ralph would come in early just to see me. When I got there the nitrous oxide machine wasn't working correctly. I was terrified to have my root canal without it. Instead of having me go through it without it they packed up all their equipment and moved me to the surgery room just so I could be comfortable and have my nitrous! It took them about 30 minutes to reset up the room which I greatly appreciated. They could have easily said no but their priority was making sure I was comfortable despite having to reset up an entire room. Dr. Lin and his assistant were so amazing through the whole thing. I was comfortable and it was over before I knew it! I really can't thank them enough for going above and beyond today! I hope I'll never need a root canal again but if I do I know I'll be in great hands!! read more

I have had great experience with the staff here up until 6 months ago. Myself and my husband have been clients for 2 years. My husbands need for sedated oral work and his work schedule makes it difficult to schedule weekday appointments so we book Saturdays. For as long as I can remember they have had Saturday hours with no changes. Until January 11th. We had scheduled an appointment, received a conformation message confirming our 10:30 appointment. We arrive and the parking lot was empty. Office is closed. No note. No message via text. No voicemail message. We wait for 30 minutes. I call the office to see if there is a message on the voicemail stating that there was a problem. No message. The phone just rings and rings. Check the website for hours. Open Saturday from 8am-5pm. So my sedated husband has taken medication unnecessarily and now will spend the rest of the day medicated for no reason. We did not make plans for this day for this reason. An hour after his scheduled appointment time we receive a text message stating that they are looking forward to seeing us on 1/18 at 10:20. Excuse me? We scheduled this visit so that we could attend a family event for that day. So now we have to cancel the family event so he can have his dental work done. I called the office on the 14th and they did not have any explanation as to why the appointment was scheduled as they now are not open every Saturday. They did reschedule our appointment for 9am on the 18th as a courtesy. We arrive on the 18th and they do not have ANY paperwork ready for us. They also have no apologies for the mix up. Except for the Dentist. SHE was great and understood our frustrations. We have our appointment and go to check out. I was presented an estimate at check in for what the service for the day was. Then I was told there was a balance on our account for what the insurance had denied previously. Um, excuse me? Why are we NOW hearing about this??? You couldn't have let us know at check in or let us know via email, phone, or text that there is a balance? I work in the animal medical field as a receptionist. I have worked Customer Service for as long as I have had a job. The communication by the front office has by FAR gone downhill. I usually try to write only POSITIVE reviews as this helps businesses grow and have the exposure they deserve. But this needs to be addressed. One of the first things our clinic did during the Snowpocalypse was to reach out to ALL scheduled clients via phone and update our social media to let them know that we were operating under short hours due to the weather. I would recommend that this be something that they look into in the future. Maybe prepare your next day appointments the day before? And then when you see that there are appointments scheduled when they are not supposed to be you could give a little notice to the clients? read more

I've been going to Gentle Dental in Redmond since 2004. I moved out of the immediate area and I still make the half hour drive to this office because I have never had anything but the best experience with the friendly staff there. I read the negative reviews on this site and I am completely shocked. I know that they are a corporate chain and have pretty high turnover between offices, or so it seems to me, so I can't say for sure you'll see the same people I see. That said, I usually see the same dentist and hygienist for a couple of years at a time before they move on. I love that I've felt comfortable and well-taken care of at Gentle Dental and I wish that my fiance, who has not had as good an experience with his dentist, would make the switch. I have always found them very affordable, not after my wallet at all, not that I have ever had to pay more than a few hundred dollars out of pocket (when my wisdom teeth were removed) because Washington Dental insurance seems to cover just about every service I receive here. read more

I have been going to this place for sometime now and I can't say enough how awesome they are. I have a great fear of going to see the dentist because I have a high tolerance for numbing and they wear off fast and they handle that so nicely. Dr. Buddula - He did my implant, you can tell he is very experienced, I was surprised how fast the procedure was, it went so smoothly, no pain the whole time. And he did such a nice job that my gum healed so nicely. AND he is super nice! Dr. Lin - He's done a couple of my root canals, very smooth, did a very good job so everything healed nicely. He definitely knows what he's doing! AND of course he is super nice too! Shana and Sandy and Heather - The front desk, they are the best part there I'd say They are soooo nice and definitely very knowledgeable. They would call my insurance to verify anything, very accommodating. They are clear on explaining what the insurance cover and what are out of pocket, no confusions, love it! While it's true that dental work can be painful, they've always been really tuned in to my pain levels, asking me if I'm alright if I make a small noise, offering more pain meds if I need them. Honesty vs. Profit. I have gone to this dentist office several times for a teeth cleaning and each time they try to sell me a $700 dollar night guard b/c I was supposedly grinding my teeth. The last time I went in they said a crown needed to be redone and that I needed a filling replaced, total cost to me after insurance...about $1200. I waited 6 months for my next cleaning, went to a new dentist (someone I actually trust) and after new X-Rays and a thorough exam none of that turned out to be true. 1. I don't grind my teeth at night, I had one flat spot caused from clenching teeth when I lift weights, 2. The crown and the filling were just fine and didn't need any work. 3. Although they are not the same thing, If I wanted a night guard I would just buy a rubber one (the kind you wear in high school football) from Big-5. Of course it won't last as long, I get that, but at the cost of $2 vs. $700, I can buy 350 of them before the break even point. If I was to go through one every six months, I would need to be alive for 175 years before the reaching that point.$700 night guard, no thanks! The doctor is supposed to have the patient's best interest in mind. The doctors are supposed to have sworn a Hippocratic oath to do no harm. To me that means that no matter how much pressure the corporation puts on them to perform unnecessary procedures that it is the Doctor's responsibility to, without bias, evaluate honestly and with integrity the actual needs of the patient and assign the best corrective action...even if that action is do nothing. I left this office because I ultimately didn't trust the anyone working there that they weren't just trying to get money out of my pocket. Be wary of any dentist that says something like "well you don't really need it but you have X amount left on your insurance for the year". Translation, "everything is fine but if you don't mind I'd like to charge your insurance for some money and at the same time do something to your teeth which will be actually, in the long run, be worse for them. read more

I had a bone spur work its way down through to where it hit my upper partial when I bit down--very, very painful. I went to GD, and saw Dr. O, expecting a referral to oral surgery for the extraction. This was for a front tooth which had been missing for years, and without it I don't even want to go out in public. Dr. O said that she could do the extraction, but overheard her talking to her hygienists about how much fun this all was, because as a general dentist, she NEVER got to do surgery. She's a hack. She didn't know what she was doing, so she cut away a huge chunk of my gum, and her stitches fell out within a few hours. When I went in to get the final plate, I was worried that it wouldn't look right next to the other front tooth, because they hadn't done a color match. And guess what! It didn't! The remaining front tooth is a crown, so Dr. O said that I couldn't possibly want my other front tooth to match that, since it was artificially white, but I said that in fact I DID want my front teeth to match. She said that the bridge matched to the natural tooth on the other side, because her hygienist has been doing this so long she can 'guess' and get the color right. By this time I was crying, and I said but you never did a color match and you never asked me! She YELLED at me, she said she was sick of arguing with me, but they did a match and sent it out to be remade. It doesn't fit. I went in to see another dentist, in another practice, and I asked him if it was my fault. Did I bend the wires? Bite down too hard? Eat with it? The wires are so tight it's hard to get in and out, but once in, it rocks back and forth, and the damn thing whistles. He said it was because they warped the mold when they made it, and there is no possible way I could have done anything about it, and I needed to go back to them and make them remake it, because otherwise he'd have to charge me, and that wouldn't be right. I started to cry (anybody surprised?), and he said he'd write them a letter, telling them exactly what they'd done wrong, that their treatment of me had so traumatized me that I was afraid to demand decent patient care, and that if they did NOT replace this with a bridge that fit he would be my advocate with the state licensing board. I will never, ever go near that place again. And you know, it's kind of a shame. I have Addison's Disease, which makes dental work kind of tricky, and I had an infected, cracked lower molar removed by one of their oral surgeons in January, following a consult with a periodontist who said it was too risky for him, and the procedure went well, with no complications. Maybe it's just this office, but I'm taking no chances. They are never seeing my teeth (or my checkbook) again. read more

I was referred here through a friend. A little about me: I have lived in Seattle for three years and am from a small town. My dentist growing up was someone I looked up to (Dr. Gehrig in FL.) I have been looking for a caring, compassionate dentist for the past two and a half years. Someone who is an actual person. I found him! The office and staff are very cohesive, too. It's the small things that go a long way with me: 1. When I first arrived, the front desk was incredibly nice and offered water, coffee, or tea in their waiting area. They offered to check my insurance. I didn't think I had dental coverage, but it turns out I did! (Thanks!) 2. The office presence was very clean, but not "sterile." The chairs were comfortable, which helped ease my anxiety for the *gulp* dental x-rays and what they could potentially find. 3. Dr. Reed and his assistant, Ashley, were so nice and thoughtful. Both explained what they were doing before they did it and even joked around, which made me feel less uneasy. You can tell the staff really likes each other and works well together. 4. Dr. Reed wasn't trying to see how many people he could fit into the hour. When I was there, he was with me for the most part. I appreciate that. 5. Ashley explained how to prevent decay in the future and how to use/care for my retainer in great detail. 6. I felt Dr. Reed genuinely cares about my dental health. He explained the xrays and showed me what he was concerned about (which wasn't much), some areas he wanted to watch, and how I could prevent damaging decay in the future. 7. I had my first cavity fillings. He was very gentle and kept asking if I was ok. ....I also got to watch Blue Planet: Shark Volcano during the process. Pretty amazing. If you haven't ever had to get a filling before or are afraid of the dentist, I highly recommend Dr. Reed. The "worst" part is when he is numbing you. It honestly wasn't even that bad. Really bad experience at Gentle Dental Redmond. I went in for a regular cleaning and was not provided one. Instead they took X-rays, made me wait for 1hour, poked my gums for 5mins, made me wait for 30mins (without even given me a chance to wash the mouth) and without any involvement pointed me to a plan for "billing insurance upto next April" (exactly in their words) for pulling out wisdom tooth and replacing/adding crowns. Given a chance, I would never go to this place again! This is not healthcare, this is a billing house with an indifferent attitude towards patients. Nurses and receptionists are trashy and I don't like the cleanliness here too. Stay away! read more

Just had all four wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Wang here, and it could not have been a better experience! Staff was extremely friendly and kind, knowing I was nervous about the pain they made me feel comfortable every step of the way and kept asking how I was doing, and provided us with plenty of information regarding next steps and things to watch out for. Both my husband and I, having read reviews here, were a bit nervous initially but found it to be a very pleasant experience (which is saying a lot for getting teeth pulled). Not to mention their price was ridiculously cheaper! I would definitely recommend Gentle Dental to anyone looking to remove their wisdom, and will probably be returning soon for my husbands turn in the hot seat. read more

The receptionists were very friendly and helpful, but that was the only positive thing about the visit. The dental assistant was very rude and condescending and I never actually saw the dentist even though I waited for close to an hour. I would not recommend this office to anyone. read more

I recently had a wisdom tooth pulled by Dr Wang, and I cannot say how FAST it was! :) I literally was in and out of the office in about a half an hour, and the whole procedure was smooth and I felt good about going back. Today I went in and had a bunch of fillings done by Dr Reed and he was also fantastic. Good quality work, and they truly care about you being comfortable. And service is always with a smile. I will definitely be sending my friends/family to Gentle Dental in Redmond. read more
