EDIT 11/30/2016: Gentle Touch listened to their customers and the girl I mentioned below is no longer there. That being said, they were extremely attentive and made sure all issues were resolved, I am back to seeing Carmen and couldn't be happier!! ---------------- I love Gentle Touch and for a few months have been coming in to see Carmen. As of recent though, they hired a new tech and shifted the schedules around, so when I came in to my regular apt. with Carmen, she was not there and a new girl was there. Now, if I had known in advance (when they called to confirm my apt) I would have rescheduled to see my regular tech. Lasering is a delicate procedure, and to be honest I am not comfortable with just any tech especially when I am a regular with a specific person. Although the new tech wasn't bad, she was very pushy about buying more sessions and recommending I do areas which I have 0 interest in doing. This was a pretty big turn off for me, and I hope that when the girls call to verify the apt. they let me know that my usual tech. will not be in at that time with an option to reschedule. Otherwise, the machine they use is top notch, facilities are clean, and the staff is super friendly! (minus the pushy new tech aka sales rep.) read more

Gentle Touch was once my favorite laser place. In the past, I would definitely give it a 5 stars rating. The two stars today is for the receptionist Caroline and my laser technician. They're both very friendly and professional. Now, the reason for the low rating is, the new owner is trying to cheat us old customers by not honoring the deal we bought in the past. I started with Gentle Touch about 3 years ago with a Groupon deal. I tried the place and I really like the cleanliness. I even referred my friends there. Although the location wasn't convenient for someone who lived in Brooklyn like me, but I still kept the business with them. After my first Groupon deal expired, I even bought a new Groupon deal to continue with Gentle Touch. At that time, the staff told me to cancel my Groupon deal and buy it directly with them and there won't be an expiration to my package. So I did that on the spot, I called Groupon to cancel my deal and bought the package directly with Gentle Touch. So, summer is here and it's time to be hair-free. I made the appointment to take care of the business. The receptionist Caroline called me today to confirm my appointment and told me to arrive 15 mins earlier to complete paperwork. I told her I'm an existing customer. She then put me on hold and came back on the phone apologizing for the mistake and that was end of the conversation. 10 mins later she called me again asking when did I buy my deal. I was being honest and told her about 2 years ago and she should have that info in the system. She told me they lost my profile and that deal is expired. Caroline offerred to have to speak to her manager and I did. The manager was extremely rude and gave me a feeling that he just wanted to get rid of all the old customers and avoid honoring the deal. He made me purchase a new deal with them as buy 3 get 1 free where as my existing one last time treatment was considering a freebie. WOW.... Very nice of him with that attitude. I would give them a last chance to try out the treatments with their new technicians. If they're not good, I will never come back to this place ever again. read more

Just wanted to add a few words. I have not realized how wonderful the equipment is. Gentle touch uses the best lasers there are. I went out to check out another place and ouch! Pain and heat. I had to change the days of my appointments so I started seeing Carmen. Carmen is very very kind and helpful. Love this med spa so much! Abby is amazing. The best laser tech in the city, she is so efficient and always makes me feel comfortable. Also, the lasers here make a HUGE difference. I've been to several other med spas in the city for hair removal over the past few years and never really saw a difference, I only wasted a ton of money. But at Gentle Touch they have quality lasers. I've only had a few sessions and my hair barely grows back and it's a much softer texture. Abby is so honest, she doesn't try to sell me products I don't need and won't even laser on areas where my skin is too tan because it will burn and not be effective. The Brazilian is so worth it, I feel great not having to shave and my skin is so soft. My man loves it too. I just booked him an appt to see Miss Abigail next week for some man scaping! ;) read more

Maybe I have been unlucky, as Gentle Touch has tons of great reviews which was what prompted me to schedule laser services here. Over the course of my services for laser on different parts of my body, I was frequently contacted to reschedule my appointments. The last straw was when I arrived for a scheduled service, waited 30 minutes past my appointment time, and never received my services at all because the client before me added on extra services. Management was always apologetic but sorry only goes so far. The location is very convenient. read more

I have been very happy with the treatments and have also added Underarm treatments as well. I have had a few different technicians over the past year, but for the past few visits, Carmen has been my technician. She is friendly, professional and does a great job. I was a regular client for a long time...until I came in last week to find out that the management has changed along with good and honest service. I came in knowing that I had 2 more sessions out of my full body package. Since I come in for touch ups I was not there since May of last year. Turned out they lost the records containing the history of my sessions and most importantly information of my settings which is highly unprofessional. They didn't offer any alternatives or discounts, instead tried to push a full price session. I was ready to do it since I was already there, but the technician had very little knowledge about what she was doing. I had to stop her in the beginning of the treatment and leave the place. The staff assured me that the owner would get back to me in any case, but no one did. I felt scammed, which is what is was. read more

Christina is great! She really takes care of her clients, is caring, and really helpful. She tries to make the treatment as comfortable as possible. The laser that they use at this facility is better than any other laser facility and I have been to many. There is a cold spray that comes out of the laser which helps numb the area. They also sell numbing cream which really helps. They will randomly have Groupon packages that make the laser treatment really cheap. Even without the groupon, it is worth it for the great service and the amazing laser they have. read more

I was coming to Gentle Touch for laser hair removal on my face and arms. I am very disappointed on a few things that happened to me throughout the 9 months I was a client at Gentle Touch. First off I had very bad surface scabbing on my arms. I thought that I was burned so I called the office and was told to come in and pick up some special cream to put on it so the marks won't scar which I did and luckily I didn't have any scars after. Liz was my technician at the time. Secondly, in January I had an appointment with Liz but when I arrived at the office I was told that she was fired because she burned a lot of clients, I am not surprised!! So I met with a new aesthician named Gina but she was not able to treat me because I had just finished a course of antibiotics so I rescheduled an appointment with Gina in 2 weeks. When I came back in 2 weeks Gina wasn't there the other technician Christina said she was filling in for Gina. I was quite disappointed because I had Christina before and I wasn't too happy with her but I didn't say anything and let Christina treat me. Of course Christina missed some spots on my face and side burns too. Christina was pressuring me into buying a package of laser on my arms because my package for my arms was done and she was very insistent and saying that I won't get the same deal if I don't pay for it that day. I didn't have any money that day so I didn't purchase the arms package. So finally I went back today to finish my last session of laser on my face and I had Gina. After my session Gina is telling me I have a balance of 33 dollars from my laser hair removal package for my arms that already had been finished since January. I was told I had already paid the full balance for my arms since October and now all of a sudden I am told I owe 33 dollars because they forgot to charge me taxes?? Is that my fault? Today I only came in for my face, laser hair removal for my arms had been finished since January but yet they are telling me I still owe a balance after the package for my arms was done a long time ago... There was a guy that came out when he heard me telling Gina that I don't owe anything and he said that it was ok it was only 33 dollars... There was just too much nonsense going on in this place which is not right and very unprofessional. read more
