I had good experience. The only thing that should have never been said was the suggestion of the amount of gratuity. That it's based on a full price vs promotional price. Felt as the gratuity should be higher due to the discounted price. There should never be gratuity mentioned as suggested the amount. Just saying. The laser treatment wasn't 15 min. I think the entire consultation and laser was a total of 15 min. Felt robbed a bit. read more

I went here for the signature facial promotion. The two people who described to me the service I was getting done described two different things. One said that this would help bring all the collagen to the surface so I would see plumper glowier skin, and the person doing the treatment said I wouldn't see any visible results. No aftercare was discussed with me. They gave me a free sheetmask if I wrote a review, but I have to write an honest one. My skin looks duller, my fine lines are more visible.. and my skin looks notably worse which has never happened after a facial.. which leads me to think.. is this promo a scam? What did I even really have done? Also I called back to cancel my next appt and make sure they don't have any cards on file (read other comments) after this experience and the coordinator who answered offered me a sheetmask to help "turn my experience around." This place is just a scam, really. They just want to take all your money. They'll rope you in to get their membership, saying it takes time to show results. I've been using it for 8+ months now and feel no significant difference to my skin due to the laser treatment. There was a whole period of when the website just wouldn't let you use your credits - so even with an active membership it would tell me to pay while booking and of course you couldn't walk in because they never have availability. I think they've updated this now, if not, the only workaround is downloading their app and booking from there. What a pain! I missed getting the treatment done over the holidays due to traveling and I had credits rolling over so I asked them how to not collect more and they told me I can freeze my account so I don't collect more credits, but very conveniently left out the part that I would get charged a fee even if I'm freezing my account. It was only after getting charged and my calling them up to dispute it that I was informed of this "fee". As evident from the screenshot attached, the person at the clinic also did not tell me about any such fee, just simply placed the hold on my membership. It's also such a pain to cancel the membership, and they are extremely vague about how many days you need to cancel before getting charged. They say 7 days but it's never clarified whether that's 7 business days for them or not. You basically don't get an option to cancel from the comfort of your home and you would have to go in, where of course they will try to rope into continuing the membership AGAIN. read more

I arrived early as I was told to do when I made my appointment. Someone who came in after me and was clearly late (front desk was chastising them) went in before me and out before I was seen. I almost left before they took me back bc I had been waiting almost a half hour with the required early arrival and how late the front desk/ "nurse" was running. There were only two employees. They both seemed extremely stressed out (poor front desk person wildly anxious), not a relaxing spa environment. The "treatment" is lube on your face for supposedly 15 mins, but my time was shorter. I looked at my phone. It was like 13 mins, including the "consult" which didn't involve inspecting my skin. I'm so glad I got this on deep discount. There is no way this was worth any money. If I could give zero stars I would. This place is a scam. They claimed I signed a "contract" when I did not, when I asked to see the contract they showed me an electronic agreement with my entire official name on it, which is not a name I would ever sign. I had to call my bank to report them as fraud when they continued to charge my card after I let them know that I never signed that contract. The bank was unable to "auto block" future charges from them because they CHANGE THEIR NAME on the charges so it looks slightly different each time and won't get flagged. SO SO FISHY and not cool. The staff were incredibly professional, welcoming, and made sure I felt comfortable throughout my entire visit. A special shoutout to nurse Casandra--she was absolutely wonderful! Front desk person was nice, but it's a sales pitch from the minute you walk in the door through the entire "treatment" which was a 3-minute sloppy laser facial performed by a "nurse" name Oskar with a horrible attitude. The vibe was like I was inconveniencing him. Even at the intro price, I felt robbed and rushed. They offer one-off expensive treatments and try to convince you to buy a 200 dollar monthly membership to avoid paying for full price treatments. Anyone with basic math skills will see it for the scam it is. Hated it. Save your time and money and buy a 30 dollar light therapy mask on Amazon or go to a place that does actual facials. read more

I have been to many SL locations and can confidently say the staff and nurses at the Flatiron location are the best. They are attentive, kind, and eager to help. Not to mention, I feel that SL facials are the best thing I can do for my skin maintenance. I went in for a first complimentary treatment. The staff members are all very nice and helpful. The complimentary treatment is the Skin Laundry signature. The signature laser is suppose to help clean the dirt, oils, etc on your face and help stimulate collagen production. The treatment itself is interesting. You feel little heated pops on your skin as the machine scrolls around your face. Throughout the process, you will smell some burning, but rest assured it is not your skin - just oils and dirt. After four passes with the laser, the aesthetician uses a toner to clean your face and then apply a moisturizer with some glycolic acid. After the treatment, my skin did seem brighter. There is no redness and no down time which is great! I purchased a hydrating mask which I used before bed. 24 hours later, my skin doesn't feel that different but does seem a bit "cleaner". I am giving the membership a try and hoping to see some good results. read more

The first facial is $75, they quickly talk you into their membership which in all fairness you do need some consistency to see results. They ask for your credit card which weather you go every month or not, they charge you $250 every month. The first facial was fine, after that I had 3 more. The results were inconsistent, after the 3rd one I had a strange breakout in my jaw area. I got the Thermo Fractonal facial which means you will have about a week of dry, flaking, and scabbing skin all depending on your skin type and tone. This alone is a bit annoying. The front desk questionable at best, on one of my appointments they emailed, texted and called to confirm my appointment and when I arrived, they kept me waiting more than a half hour after my scheduled time and I noticed they called two other people ahead of me. When I questioned it, they said my appointment was not at the time I said but for a later time, I quickly showed them on my phone and although they did apologize for the "misunderstanding", they did not acknowledge that they had made an error. I believe they moved my appointment so they could fit someone else in, from what I saw. I will be canceling my membership as I feel it is not worth it and I will be going somewhere else. read more

Pros: The nurses are always very friendly, and they take good precautions for covid. The facility is pretty, clean, and well-maintained. It feels like you're walking into a spa. That being said, I did a pack of 10 signature facials here. I have some hyperpigmentation on my face, so I was expecting to see some fading after 10 sessions, but I didn't notice any change whatsoever, except that some of my freckling seemed a bit darker, if anything. Also, I had to cancel a facial at the last minute one time due to an emergency. As per their policy, I was expecting to lose the facial. Fair enough. Instead, they charged me a fee. When I repeatedly tried to contact them about it, they said a manager would call me back, but no one ever did. No one at corporate answered my emails, either. Really unprofessional. I won't be coming back here, and I wouldn't recommend it, either. I think laser facials are great, but this place seems gimmicky :(. read more

I've been coming to Skin Laundry (flatiron) since November 2023. I was having some breakouts that left me with a lot of hyperpigmentation. I've noticed so much improvement in my complexion (I get compliments all the time at work). In the course of the month I may get 1 maybe 2 pimples but that's it! I am with Jane F. I cancelled my membership and they kept charging me and will not give me a refund. It is NOT WORTH IT.

I didn't want to resort to this, but this business has left me no choice. I cancelled my monthly facial subscription in store in May, and they still charged my credit card this month. I've been trying to get a refund now since June 1 and they have not yet done so, saying they are working to find a solution to the refund. The solution is that you reverse the charge in your point of sale, something that is not a difficult task. If I don't hear back by tomorrow I will be disputing the charge to my credit card. I got charged for a $75 deposit. The receptionist was so rude and condescending even when I was asking her to reschedule at a different location she said there's no availability when i wont online and should how an 11:45 availability at other location she acted like she had no clue.
