I went here a few times a few years ago. My dog came home with a double eye infection and painted nails. Do not recommend at all.

I normally bring my dog to PetSmart or a local groomer to be groomed. Nothing fancy basically just…read morea brush, bath, nail trim, toothbrush and ear cleaning. Every time I went to pick up my dog from these locations she seemed distraught. I took a chance on Splash and Dash and they DID NOT disappoint. Upon the pick up I was relieved to see that our dog was happy and well groomed. I will definitely be going back.

During all those years, not once did anyone ever tell me my dog was aggressive or had any behavioral issues. Then, around 2025, everything changed. Out of nowhere they started claiming my dog was trying to bite the groomers and eventually refused to groom her unless I got a veterinarian's note saying she was on medication. Imagine being told that after six years of bringing the same dog there without a single complaint. They had me genuinely questioning whether something was wrong with my dog. To make sure, I took her to a completely different groomer. Their response? They said my dog was an absolute saint and behaved perfectly the entire time. That told me everything I needed to know. I've also since found out Splash and Dash is under new management, and that's exactly when all these issues started. On top of that, I have another dog who has come home from this place with scratches and even bleeding. I can't say what happened behind closed doors, but no pet owner should have to pick up their dog in that condition or be made to feel like their well-behaved pet is suddenly the problem. After six years of loyalty, this is how I was treated. It's incredibly disappointing and frustrating. I used to recommend this place to everyone, but I absolutely can't anymore. If you truly care about your pets, I'd think twice before bringing them here

Our dog Louie came home looking so fresh, clean, handsome and happy! Their prices are very reasonable - a full groom+deshed+teeth brushing for our Corgi was $45. You can't beat that! And the service only took an hour and a half. Can't wait to take Louie back to Paws Grooming!

I rarely leave negative reviews for any business (small or large) because I understand how hard it…read moreis to keep one running in this economy. HOWEVER, this is something I cannot just drop without giving my personal experience. I've been going here since around 2021 or 2022 because our dogs' old groomer moved away right after the pandemic and so, I found this place through googling around. At first, it was okay: they are very fast on grooming our dogs (which I now consider as red flag because our old one takes more than 90 minutes per dog), but it's cash or check only (another red flag). However, two days ago, Jelly went in for a supposedly routine grooming session as we've always done every six months because we just prefer to keep the usual trimming and brushing at home just to be cost effective. Last time that we went was in late December 2025 but it was with a different groomer. That one went pretty smoothly and very fast (under an hour). Cheri, the groomer this time, briefly explained to me that Jelly was anxious and was "jumping around" when she got knicked around her left leg near the armpit area and I will have to bring her to the vet to get "one or two stitches, but she'll be fine" Just to paraphrase what she told me and at first, I took her word for it because well, of course, she's a "PROFESSIONAL" groomer. Well, I took her to one of the nearest animal hospitals around Morton Grove, and the vet told me that the cut was a bit deeper because she could see the under her skin (basically down to her bone) and she had three stitches. I mean, I already had the most stressful morning hauling two dogs back and forth to this place from my house in Skokie, but this is just cherry on top! Look, I'm going to suppress my emotions here as much as I could and get down to the facts. This incident happened in YOUR place of business under YOUR care. When we leave our dogs in your hands, we kinda expect them to be in a safe environment and for the amount of money and trust that we have put into this place, we were hoping that we get reciprocated the same experience (safety and trust). That was not the case at all and I should have taken all the little red flags that I've noticed throughout the years. I understand that sometimes Jelly gets anxious and nervous around places and people. Well, of course they will be stressed when a human right in front of them is holding a blade (and a sharp one!). And of course out of instinct, they will move! It's just how it is, and I understand. However, I left that place feeling like it was my fault for letting this happen and Cheri was just nonchalant about it. She was actually more concerned on making sure the payment went through from Zelle than the condition of my dog when we left. I still don't know what exactly happened because I wasn't there, but it left me with some doubts on what she was telling me or maybe there's more to it that they're not telling. Jelly has been to various groomers for almost 9 years now ever since we got her in 2017. Every time we pick her up from the groomer, we always ask them how our dogs were, how was their behavior, is there anything we need to keep in mind as dog owners before we return. And 99.999999% of the time, the groomers would say that everything went well and Jelly was very well-behaved and pretty good at staying still....This is the very first time I have heard from a groomer that she was "jumping around". I don't know, maybe be that day was just not a good day for Jelly to go to the groomer? We may never know. Looking at other negative reviews here, I have made peace with the fact that this place will never cover the vet bills (It was about $960 for the whole hospital visit PLUS the $150 for grooming my two dogs). But what do I expect from a place that only takes cash or check only?? Sure, Cheri did reach out to me asking for any update and I did respond back but I also asked for the owner's contact information just to let them know and report this incident and go from there. I have not received any response back from her nor the owner yet, and I doubt I will ever get a reply. Look, the reason why we go here is to avoid this exact scenario. I'm going to use an analogy here: It's like when your car breaks down and you bring it to a mechanic...hopefully the one that has the experience AND the expertise in these matters because DIY may not be the best. But the mechanic messed up your car and instead of paying for $500 fix, it's now at least $2000....who wouldn't be pissed off with that? Anyways, I'm posting this NOT for the owner or employees of this place anymore but for other potential customers who are looking for a safe and trustworthy groomer. Because this place is definitely not it. I have posted a picture of Jelly's injury and a screenshot of Cheri's "expertise" that was posted on their website below. You be the judge on whether you still trust this place or not.
