I made an appt for two vaccines, the clinic required a $72 wellness check before administering the vaccines. The cost was given. 1) AFTER the appt was confirmed I received a call the same day (Call #1). We are 2+ years into the pandemic and they wanted to discuss their rules, people are NOT allowed in the clinic. The tech comes to the car to retrieve the pet while the owner waits in the car. They also wanted a $50 deposit and to email health records. 2) I received a call the next day (Call #2) which is the appt day requesting health records. They were sent but they failed to check THEIR spam. 3) Received now another call (Call #3). It lasted 25 and said that it had to be done to keep the appt. They wanted to review the health records and discuss them. 4) The appointment to a lot of time. They provide a recommendation with additional costs. It can be good for some but I only needed two vaccines. My reason for one star: The office changed and increased the agreed upon charges for the visit and vaccines. It felt like a bait and switch or working with a used car salesman. They have you at a disadvantage, your credit card is on file, they have your dog (remember you are in the car waiting and can't go in). If you leave they will charge you for the wellness visit and you loose money because you most likely have to pay another vet a wellness visits to get your dog vaccinated. The quote although confirmed by their office means nothing. The doctor performed the wellness visit and two vaccines as discussed. The charge was $65 more than the agreed price. I can not recommend this clinic because stiffed me for $65!!! Go at your own risk . Maybe others already knew what I didn't because Meridian had plenty of openings while other vets were booked up. read more

When I first adopted my rescue dog a year ago, I brought her to Meridian. I found Dr. Lipton to be condescending and not very warm. When she asked what I was feeding my dog and I shared that I was feeding her a very standard brand of kibble, Dr. Lipton told me that she is "not a fan of starchy carbs" and that this wasn't a good choice for my dog. While I do not buy into harmful diet and wellness culture beliefs demonizing carbs (neither for myself nor for my dog), I can appreciate having a difference of opinion. What I did NOT appreciate was the condescending tone in which the recommendation was delivered, nor the fact that when I asked what Dr. Lipton WOULD recommend I feed my dog, I was told either that I could come in for a $500 nutrition consultation (why would I need to spend this kind of money for my perfectly healthy dog?), or that I could take her to Big Bad Woof and get a recommendation from them about what to feed her. So, in short - don't feed her what you are feeding her, but I can't tell you what to do differently unless you spend more money. When I brought my dog back in 6 weeks later for her rabies vaccine, she had gained about 3-4 pounds since her first visit. I was met with a very alarmist reaction from both Dr. Lipton as well as the vet tech. My dog had been in the shelter for 3 years and 1 month before I adopted her after being confiscated from an abusive hoarding situation. For the first time, my dog was in a home where she was being adequately fed and loved. I'm sorry to say that gaining a few pounds after experiencing a lifetime of trauma was not a huge concern for me. That being said, I can appreciate that not everyone agrees with this. However, the manner in which the message was delivered was very shaming. It was at this point that I knew that Dr. Lipton was not the right fit for me and my dog. I brought my dog to another vet after this, who had no concerns about her weight or what I was feeding her. A year later, my dog is happy, healthy, and thriving. I am an eating disorder psychologist and witness the harms of diet and wellness culture every single day. I don't need to bring my dog to a place where I leave feeling shamed (not to mention unsure of what to be doing differently). read more

After setting up appointment for our dogs to be vaccinated, explaining that our dogs were in needed of the canine influenza vaccine for boarding for an upcoming trip, being assured that the canine influenza vaccine was available and in-stock at their office, and paying the required $100 deposit to secure our appointments. The week before our appointment we received an email saying that they could no longer provide the vaccines due to short supply. A call to office was met with nonchalant indifference and a complete lack of compassion. This left us scrambling to find other solutions. I'm fully aware of the shortage of the canine vaccine in the area and I'm sure this office was as well. If they were honest with us when we first booked the appointment we could have used that time to make other arrangements. This was a completely disrespectful waste of our time. read more

We have been taking Milo for monthly appointments with Dr. Lipton since his cancer diagnosis earlier this year. Given his age (15!) we have opted to not go for chemo and instead make sure Milo has the best quality of life with the time he has left with us. At our first appointment - her team took the time and care to review Milo's medical records, complete a full exam, provide intel on dietary changes/supplements AND...do some reiki, body work and non-needle acupuncture all on a very anxious, grouchy, cantankerous old pup. dr. Lipton utilizes conventional and Eastern medicine. She takes the time to talk to us at length about what we're seeing at home and provides thorough feedback/advice. We took our dog Blue to visit Meridian for acupuncture to help calm him and strengthen his rear leg muscles. As part of the visit Dr Lipton did a full physical. We were amazed at the level of detail and concern she showed for our pup. Her staff are gentle and sweet and treat Blue like a prince. The acupuncture worked at calming him. The physical discovered a problem we are currently treating and look forward to future acupuncture treatments, especially around the 4th of July. Dr Lipton is Blue's new vet. We were highly impressed with Dr. Lipton on the phone. She provided us with very detailed information and was very precise with introducing us to her practice. When we arrived for our appointment we were greeted by her front desk staff, they were enthusiastic, kind and loved our babies. Once we were inside and met with Dr. Lipton, everything changed. She did not engage with our dogs, she was very disagreeable and seemed to oppose everything about what I described as our experience and the very recent trauma our dogs have encountered. I tried to still be open with her, but when her assistant tried to dominate our dog who had just been traumatized, that was it. Nothing went well. I could not and do not recommend her as a vet. I found her to be hostile and not at all someone that I would ever want to be in the company of my pets. I also have to mention that I looked at other reviews here, after our appointment and I did notice that they removed an unfavorable review. They will likely remove mine as well. It may have been that she doesn't do well with large dogs. Regardless, I left her office extremely upset and could not allow her to cause any additional harm to my baby. read more

We have found her to be an expert caring vet who goes above and beyond to ensure the well being of our sugar pie, an 8 year old bichon mix. I cannot adequately describe how grateful I am to Dr. Lipton for her expertise, professionalism and care of my pets. I contacted her about two years ago when the health of my cats started taking a turn for the worse. (There's a long list of what they have been diagnosed with...). She is extremely thorough and covers everything from previous veterinary care to food, water and environment. I strongly believe that both my cats have had added good-quality years to their lives under her treatment and counsel and that any future kittens or puppies I may have will also benefit from what I have already learned from Dr. Lipton. Perhaps most valuable has been my education of what constitutes good veterinary care. I had previously taken any diagnosis or suggestion from vets at face value. By going through my pets' veterinary history and seeing the inconsistencies or potential misdiagnoses, I've learned to ask better questions of specialists or ER vets and am a much better advocate for my cats and their health. That never would have happened without Dr. Lipton. It never even occurred to me although I've been a health advocate for an ailing parent and also go to a functional doctor, who took me through the same process as Dr. Lipton performed for my cats. Finally, I find Dr. Lipton extremely caring. One of my cats recently received a diagnosis that probably puts him in his last year of life. Dr. Lipton was recommended for my Zuna in 2007 when he was undergoing cancer treatments for lymphoma. Dr. Lipton made home visits and treated Zuna with acupuncture. She also made nutritional suggestions to help him through the treatments. I believe it gave him a better life for the time he was here despite the invasive cancer which beat him five months later. She also helped me with my other cat Marshmallow when he had crystals in his bladder....which can be fatal. She suggested he have a bladder flush rather than invasive surgery and it has been the best decision. After having spent the past year spending hundreds of dollars for each vet visit and it's battery of tests, I decided to bite the bullet and seek out alternative treatments to help my pet. At the end of the day, the time spent with each pet, the personalized care you get from Dr. Lipton is probably the best decision and most affordable in the long run - my dog has achieved a remarkable turnaround and I am doing better at managing his old age. Dr. Leanne Lipton is the best! My doggie, Red, a 13 1/2 year old yorkie has a number of health issues. He has luxating pattelar, arthritis, heart problems, skin problems, stomach issues, you name it! Red was not doing so well in December of last year, but since we began seeing Dr. Lipton a couple of days before New Year's Day, Red's health has improved dramatically. Dr. Lipton takes a holistic approach to medicine and cares for the whole animal. She visited my home to ensure that Red's home environment was optimal for him, gave me recommendations on the best type of food for him, and prescribed the best type of medication for his arthritis, etc. She even arranged to have Red's medication delivered to my home from a local pharmacy. Red also now eats a special diet that agrees with his tummy and allows him to be at his personal best. I only wish that I had found Dr. Lipton when Red was a puppy--he would be even healthier now. But I'm very pleased that I have found her now and I'm sure that Red and I will be just fine for all the wonderful time we have left together. I was so happy to have found Dr. Lipton, which was totally by chance while buying dog food! I asked the owner of the store if she knew a holistic vet, and Dr. Lipton was standing right there... I have always adopted senior dogs with disabilities, and she has been wonderful treating all of them, not only medically, but nutritionally as well! She makes sure to keep in touch with my other vets--GP and other specialists--assuring they have her latest treatment info per pet, and making sure each vet keeps in touch with her, to trade findings re: diagnoses and treatment considerations, to assure she is on top of everything going on with each pet, and all other vets are happy to comply with her wishes. Dr. Lipton spends as much time as needed per pet per visit, and is her visits are extremely comprehensive. I am so glad that I took the plunge into holistic veterinary and called Dr. Lipton. Thanks to her, I avoided giving my dog unnecessary doses of Benadryl. Dr. Lipton says that she is in a behavioralist, but she (correctly) made the call that my dog was not suffering from allergies, but rather from lack of activity and interactivity with other dogs (shame on me). Dr. Lipton also talked about the newer dehydrated raw foods and adding greater variety to my dog's diet. I think that these changes have resulted in a happier, healthier dog, and since our appointment with Dr. Lipton almost two months ago, my dog is doing much better in many ways, due to the insights I got which I never would have received from tradtional veterinary (which we still rely upon for certain needs). My cat was recently diagnosed with pancreatitis and the vet I was using sent me home with the cat who was about to die. Couldn't disagree more with these prior comments. If you're referred to Dr Lipton for any veterinary care, grab your pet and run in the opposite direction.
