I just recently moved from the city and had to find a good place to get a haircut. After researching multiple places, I came upon this place. After digging through reviews, checking out the website, I could tell the owner really cares about the integrity and status of his business judging by presentation and marketing presence. So, decided to book an appointment via Yelp which was also easy to do. The place ended up being awesome, friendly customer service, clean and everything as expected was well taken care of. Devore (sorry if I'm mispronouncing his name) was my hair stylist. He did an awesome job listening to my first haircut at new place concerns and addressed all of my demands. The best Barber in Westchester! In the year since I moved to Westchester from NYC, I tried a few local barbers because I didn't want to go back down to the city to get my hair cut. The places I tried had good reviews. They were local shops that were there for years. But every one cut my hair the same way - their way. I'd go in and tell them exactly how I wanted it cut and they'd nod their heads and just cut it the way they wanted. Even though I always asked for a scissors cut, they'd all grab the electric clippers and buzz the crap out of my hair. It was like bam bam bam now get out of the chair. But what else could I expect from places that charged around $15 for a haircut. You get what you pay for. Every time I went to one of these places, I had to keep going back to my NYC barber and have him fix these shitty cuts. He was cool with me looking for a barber up here because this is where I live now, so he'd fix those messed up cuts. So I kept looking and I found Peter and Gentleman's Barber Spa. They had amazing reviews, plus he worked in some top line places, so I gave him a shot. Man, am I glad I did. I called and got an appointment for that day. From the second I walked in, you could tell this place was serious. Everybody looked professional, the place was spotless and none of the barbers looked like they were so set in their ways that they'd only be able to give you the 1 haircut that they can actually do. I told Peter exactly what I wanted. And for the next half hour - and yeah, he took a half hour to make sure it was the way I wanted it - it was like he cut every hair on my head individually. I've never had a barber or a stylist pay that much attention to cutting my hair in my life. Then he cleaned up my neck with a straight razor, and even washed my hair afterwards to get the little hairs out. When I looked in the mirrors, I had the best haircut that I've had in years! This place is a NYC barber shop that happens to be in White Plains. And as a guy who lived in NYC for most of his adult life and got his hair cut there all that time, I can say that. This ain't your local Joe Blow barber shop. Peter is a major league barber. So, if you want your hair cut the way you see it in your mind, this is the place to go. read more

This is a wonderful place. My appointment began right on time. My barber was skilled and attentive, and the experience is just great--warm towel, oils and astringent with the shave...terrific! Honestly this place lives up to the hype. I'm not going anywhere else for a haircut from here on in. My go-to barber screwed up my haircut about 3 weeks away from my wedding so I needed someone professional and meticulous to fix the damage. Goni did that and then some. I honestly got one of the best haircuts I have ever had and he corrects all of the mistakes that my previous barber made. In addition to that, the prices were very reasonable. I don't know about this place. It looks great on social medial & the reviews are overall positive but i paid $62 for a haircut and beard trim. Goni cut my hair. As this was my first time i didnt know u had to book an apt for haircut & beard trim. He explained to me that he didnt have time for straight edge as he had another apt coming in. Decent haircut although the back was cut way too short & now i have a skin fade. I am not sure if i would go back,@ $42 a pop not sure if its worth it. He didn't even use the straight edge for my beard but was charged the full amount for it. They speak Albanian when discussing pricing. Central barbershop in Scarsdale is much better and definitely more reasonable with pricing. read more

The person who cut my hair for years retired and after trying two recommendations from friends that were disappointing, I looked on Yelp! and found the Gentlemen's Barber Spa. I called for an appointment and got one right away with Goni. I found a good parking spot and was seated on time. The shop itself is neat and clean. Everybody was helpful, pleasant and professional. I'm very satisfied with my haircut. More important than that, my wife said it's the best one in many years. That's one big headache avoided. First of all, this place gets so many 5 stars. Hmmmmm do you people realize that businesses such as this one pay Yelp A Lot of extra money to post more (practically exclusively) of the great reviews and less of the poor ones? Oh you didn't know that.. Problem is not everyone in this place cuts well...not even borderline well. Don't get me wrong I appreciate quality. This is certainly a quality place. I even the cut I'm reviewing 10 out of 10. That's not the problem. What I do not appreciate is asking for the back and around the ears to be trimmed and the barber agreeing to this and getting charged the full price for a full cut. Did I receive a full cut? Pretty much... yes. The thing is that isn't what I asked for. As posted in the website a Gentleman's Edge Up is a Clean up around the ears and neck straight razor finish $20. Once again I asked for a trim around the ears and asked the back to be cleaned up. He said I'm going to "balance" my hair. This was him saying he was going to charge me the full price. Of course I nodded my head figuring he was just helping me get a better overall shape or what not and barley going take anything off. I figured he didn't want me walking out of there looking all overgrown except for the back and sides. Problem is I never asked for that! I repeatedly said I just want a trim of the back and the sides. As a result to me nodding to his suggestion to "balance" my haircut I (1) Did not get what I asked for as I only asked for the back and sides to be cut (2) Paid for something I didn't ask for (3) Have less length on top when I never asked for anything but for the sides and back to be trimmed. I am not posting on here to name any names. Its about the principle of asking for something and getting taken advantage of. Even if he was trying to balance the haircut in good faith thats his choice not what I asked for and I should not have to pay for that. Somebody else rang me up at the register. I mentioned I didn't ask for the full haircut. The person that rang me up talked to the barber. They had a brief discussion. Nothing changed...same price. I wasn't going to make a big fuss about it maybe just a little venting...ok more than a little. I guess when I ask for the sides and back to be trimmed repeatedly the barber has the option to do what he wants and charge what he wants even though Gentleman's Edge-Clean up around the ears and neck straight razor finish $20 is on the freakin menu. By the way it is a very very nice haircut but I probably won't be coming back because I paid for something I didn't ask for. The reply to this will probably be that I should have specifically asked for the Gentleman's Edge-Clean Up. I'm rather certain I described what it is. And the next reply will probably be that I nodded when he said he wants "to balance it out". I never asked for that and I honestly thought he was just being nice so I wouldn't walk out looking like I got a poor cut. Right after he said that and started trimming the top I even said I really just want the sides and back trimmed.... What more can I say? I came into this place not knowing what to expect, but as soon as I walked in I was treated like a valued guest. The atmosphere is really cool and has a throwback feel that I enjoyed a lot. Ariel was my barber and I had a messy haircut. I told him that I was thinking of trying something new, but I wasn't sure what I should get. It took him all of two seconds to figure out what I needed and explained to me in detail what he was gonna do. Everything came out better than I ever expected and I have been receiving compliments ever since. The entire experience was great and the mini massage at the end was just icing on the cake. I came in with a $100 gift certificate that was a Xmas gift from my girlfriend. The first time I went, no one welcomed me and the staff were standing around talking to each others while I was trying to get their attention. Finally once they finished their conversation they acknowledged me. when I mentioned i had a gift certificate the gentleman looked at it 3 times before agreeing I could use it. They try to be an upscale establishment but have no hospitable service training what so ever. I went back a week or so later to get a cut and a shave using the remaining funds for the gift certificate. Again the gentleman looked it over and immediately said this doesn't cover the cut and shave. I told him I would pay whatever the balance is. THe establishment is very clean and they do a fine job with shave and hair cuts but i would never go back there because they don't respect your business. Offering an espresso and a hot towel doesn't warrant an$80 cut and shave. Trust me there are better shops who would appreciate your business. Maybe I was treated differently because I wasn't in my business suit. Go there if you want to be treated like a McDonald's customer. read more
