For the past 3 years I've been going to his barber Will and in the past month I don't if something has happened in Will's personal life but he has been rude, unprofessional, and hostile to say the least. We had an issue with the appointment service that Royalty Chop Shop uses. I called the shop 3 times, six hours before my appointment, all calls sent to voicemail. I called and texted Will, no answer. I even called and texted the owner Alex, with no answer. Even when I rescheduled online, I called again to try and confirm my appointment was to be rescheduled for the next day. Still no answer. When I called the next day, they confirmed the shop was closed and rescheduled, then hung up. They then called me back to tell me to reschedule again, wanting to charge me for a second time. After telling them the many times I called, Will jumped on the phone and told me that he is a busy man and it's not his job to pick up clients phone calls or text. When I told him that I called the shop he said it wasn't his job and since I was his only client that had a problem with their software that I can find another barber. I haven't received my refund and I called Alex and left messages countless times. I'll find another barber, but if this is the type of business you're going to run with short tempered young kids that don't have good communication skills and bring personal problems to work and take them out on paying customers then you will fail. Hundreds of barbers in White Plains alone, find a new shop!

I am not the kind of person to tell a barber specific numbers or anything or how to do their job, I kind of just let them cut my hair. So I was pleasantly surprised when leaving the shop at how much better I looked as a result of the cut. I was wowed to say the least. There is a nice lady who washes your hair before you get it cut. This is important for me because your average chain-salon often won't provide this service, which in my experience made me feel more comfortable after the cut. The guy who cut my hair- think it was Goni- was really confident. He was literally cutting my hair to the beat of the music playing in the shop. Not only that, but the time spent cutting my hair felt like it was getting the right focus while not being overly long. The place looks high end, and I guess my only gripe was that my haircut was almost 50 dollars, but I would pay the premium because I hate the carelessness for the customer that goes on with these chain-barber shops like master cuts or super cuts or whatever the heck these generic names are. Goni has been my barber for going on four years now, at his previous location, and now at his own shop. I've never had as consistently excellent a haircut as I've gotten from him over the years. When he moved to open his own shop at the Handlebar, I immediately followed (even delayed a haircut a month until they were able to take customers). The service is excellent, and there aren't delays when you have an appointment (which is easy to make through their website). The shop has always been clean and well maintained (which is particularly important now), and everyone is welcoming and friendly (though appropriately masked and distanced). I've recommended the shop (and Goni even before he had this place) to friends and coworkers, and they've become regular customers as well. Highly recommended! read more

If you want the ultimate experience this is the place to be, Goni is a master barber and he has been doing my hair for 10 years. Him and team do a great job, the ambiance is perfect and the costumer level is at its best. They offer different services, my favorite is the royal shave, part of the experience is also the complementary bar and coffee service. There is no other place to get a hair cut in Westchester -- period. I've been a customer of Ariel's for a few years now and he gives the absolute best hair cuts I've ever had. The whole team is awesome, the salon has a great environment which makes it an experience not just a place to get a hair cut. The attention to detail with the haircut is amazing and it's the most thorough cut I have ever had. It's always tough trying someplace new but trust me you will never go anywhere else once you go to Handlebar -- it's that good. After months of Covid lockdowns and cutting hair at home, I was looking for a barber with a decent protocol. One Sunday evening in early fall, I called them up and asked about their Covid protocols. They said they take customer with appointments and have temperature checks, hand sanitizers and mask mandate for all the staff and customers. When I went there, it was spot on and I was relieved. They have figured out to cut and wash hair without removing masks ever, which is a plus! I have been going there regularly for about 3 months now and never disappointed. read more

I have been to many barbers throughout Westchester and Putnam and never received a haircut like this. I just received my first haircut at handlebar's from Goni. The experience was exceptional. You can tell that Goni really knows how to cut hair. The haircut and shape up are perfection. The receptionist was extremely polite. The atmosphere was very professional. Handlebar Men's Salon is the best barber shop I've ever been too. The place is stylish and attractive. It has a distinct "Brooklyn loft" feel with beautiful wood and leather. All of the barbers are true artists who are deeply passionate about their job and the clients. For the past four years I've been trusting Goni with my haircut and he always exceeds my expectations. I have been going to Fred long before they opened Handlebar Men's Salon and have received nothing less than a first-rate haircut every time. The entire establishment is top notch. Ever Since I moved out of White Plains, I travel 30 minutes back to Handlebar whenever I need a cut.
