I have been going to Slava's (Sal's) barbershop throughout the last 5 years for one reason... he's good at what he does. My style has evolved over that time, from the short spiked hair that I wanted as a medical student to a now professional style that allows me to look best for my patient's. Slava consistently outdoes himself each time, and provides a conversation that always makes me leave his shop with a smile. I've seen him work with kids and he's better at it then most barbers I've ever seen. The poster above stated that his hair was cut a little too short after saying that he wanted his hair "short". I've learned throughout the years that at any new barber one has to be prepared to provide a length number if clippers are to be used to cut the sides (see following taken from internet), otherwise one can ask to have hair trimmed by scissors. Here are the general lengths specified by the different numbered length guards: * #1 - one-eighth of an inch * #2 - one-quarter of an inch * #3 - three-eighths of an inch * #4 - one-half of an inch * #7 - seven-eighths of an inch * #8 - one inch I went in for a haircut today that was given to me by Sal's relative / new business partner Edward, and after getting my hair cut it was clear that these two are related.
