This barbershop is very conveniently located in downtown Glen Cove. Like some of the other reviewers said I am very picky about my barber and was pretty nervous the first time I walked in. Right away I felt welcome and he took special care and attention to listen to what look I wanted and also asked questions to double check his understanding. That made me feel very confident and he walked me through what he was doing as he did the cut. He also has a great selection of hair products and is happy to give advice if desired. So let's see where do I begin. I am very picky about who I let cut my hair. I actually work with hair and still am not ok with my colleagues touching my hair after many a bad cut. So after living in absolute fear my hair had grown probably a foot long. I just kept letting it grow and grow but as the temperature got hotter the more uncomfortable it became. I knew I had to do something so I decided to look this place up seeing as I live five minutes up the road walking distance and I walked by this place a few times going to grab pizza at the downtown cafe. After checking it out online I saw some promising reviews on here and decided to give a call to make sure they were open which was another positive, as I got there just before closing time and not once did he try to rush just to get out of there. So when I arrived he was just getting started on someone else so I had a couple mins to take the place in and evaluate the presentation. Had it not looked great I still had time to bail on it, but I wasn't going anywhere cause the place was comfortable, clean, modern and nice. So when he finished up I jumped up and showed him a couple of pictures of the general cut I was looking to do. I was a nervous wreck and he could see right through me. A couple of jokes and my mind wasn't racing with fear that I just may be setting myself up for a disaster So between that and his confidence it was comforting. Throughout the entire cut we had a back and forth great conversation and it kept me from worrying that and I could see in the mirror that he knew exactly what he was doing. It was from that point I knew I was in for something special here. Nothing was rushed, every detail was paid attention to and the result was the best cut that I've had in years. I was very impressed with his abilities and loved the haircut. When it's time to pay up he takes cash, credit and Apple Pay which was awesome cause I use Apple Pay for everything and it was as easy as holding my phone to the reader. Within a couple of hours I had already gotten a few compliments on the cut. This is definitely my new go to spot for hair cuts and I will be a regular now. If you are looking for a great haircut and are questioning anything rest assured that the pickiest person with hair is telling you that you will not be disappointed. I went to school for hair so I know all about it and he knows exactly what he's doing. Do yourself a favor and check it out here and I guarantee you'll become a regular too. Great experience. Decided to give this place a shot yesterday for myself and my 2 yr old (my wife found this place on yelp). Yunon knows what he is doing with his scissors. I prefer scissors to clippers so my choices are limited and I usually wind up in overpriced salons. I was definitely impressed with his scissor skills and both my son & I came out with a great haircut. I further indulged and got a single blade shave since he uses the same brand of shaving products (Art of Shaving) that I use at home. I was transported to back in the days of relaxing in a barber chair with a hot towel on my face and getting a quality single blade shave. This place will definitely become a part of my 2 week friday afternoon routine of cut & shave. I highly recommend this place if you want a great haircut for a great price as well. read more
