Prior to this I was at…read moreRoman's Barber Shop, it was the era of the Guido and finding a barbershop that could be your 'spot' was the cool thing to do, to go to a hip and modern spot that was sleek and the barbers knew what they were doing--Roman's was it at the time, and even the Gotti's for their cuts there.. but then Ed and Rob opened up a block away from me. Within a few weeks I met both Ed and Rob, and they were the two most down to Earth and most humble guys I had ever met. They were so laid back that they instantly made you feel comfortable, the atmosphere was just as modern and stylish as any other place that attracted hordes of teenagers just aching to find their 'cliquey' barbershop to call their own. Instead of finding a spot to just be able to brag about, I discovered the only Barber Shop I would ever trust with my hair ever again. They redefined the game at Ed and Rob's, they worked hard and diligently for years, slowly and humbly growing their business. They went out of their way to become friends with everyone in town and offer them a place that was unrivaled. It's so hard to properly give these two credit for an experience that truly captures your ability to feel like you belong to something amazing, especially when most people don't think much about places becoming a part of your history, but that's what this place was for me and still is. Even after I joined the military and lived in various states, I missed the cuts I'd get at Ed and Robs. They remembered every little detail about your cuts, they remembered every conversation and every life that they made better. Ever barber who walked through those doors to learn or to work, became great, and their retention rate would probably be at 100% if anyone could measure it over the years. I love this place.

Its an old school barber shop, walk-in, longer wait on weekends, guys actually know how to cut with scissors and not just buzz everything. Shave ur neck and show you the finished product When i moved to jersey, i went to high end men's salons and top reviewed barbers on yelp, you had to make appointments, barbers with business cards, and they charged more than $20. I actually went to a NJ guy for months and thought he was good, but i was keeping my hair short and all he did was buzz it. 1st time I asked this highly rated (on yelp) NJ barber to cut my hair with scissors, I was done- worst haircut of my life like he never used scissors before in his life. I actually had to go to sergey's to fix it. Same thing- I was out in cali for business and needed to clean up bad. Guy my age was great buzzing the sides but couldn't use scissors for shit. Last year I moved a few hrs away and still come here regularly when im in LI. Prefer a main st establishment to the supercuts, sports clips, etc by me.
