I found Genuine Coatings through Yelp, after having to go through several (5-7) various Painting companies / Roofing contractors, etc, due to my specific requests: powerwash the clay tile roof and the need to replace some broken tiles and maintain the checker pattern, as well as powerwash, and paint my chimney, and finally to replace and paint all Fascia boards, Gutters and eaves surrounding my house. Mario was very responsive and was willing to tackle all of it with his 4-5 team members. Rodrigo his brother and Foreman was there to ensure that I was made aware of the daily plans. Kevin was the next best assistant foreman if Rodrigo wasn't around. They worked on the house for about 7 days total, M-Sa 8-4pm-ish some days longer as needed. Its naturally messy with the powerwasher as it blasted paint chips all over and into some of the neighbors yard, but they went and cleaned it up once it was brought up. They really did a fantastic job ensuring that my exact requests were met. Pro Tip if you going to remodel your outside, start with the roof and then work your way down. This way I wasn't concerned with the paint chips left all over the yard. They cleaned up what they could, and then I have the landscapers come next. I will let the photos do the rest... Genuine Coatings - Review Part #3 (Due to size limitations, I had to edit my initial review) Here are most of our findings and important details: 1. From our first contact with Genuine Coatings Inc. to the fully completed job, the owner Mario provided constant, detailed and thorough communication via phone calls, text and/or video messages as needed, throughout every stage of the process. 2. Mario listened to us as we discussed and described what work we wanted to be done, in general and then in detail. With each step of the way, Mario provided very helpful suggestions and recommendations. 3. Mario took the time and effort to respond to our numerous questions and concerns, providing very helpful information to insure us that the work would be completed as we requested, expected, and agreed upon We felt that Mario understands that most of his customers aren't familiar with the detailed painting procedures so he helpfully explained what the job entails (including each step, until we understood.) 4. Mario was completely honest with us and does not oversell. After generally describing what type of work we needed done, after scheduling a free inspection, he initially he provided us with many options, and he provided a general cost structure, with detailed breakdowns. 5. Mario was upfront with all the costs, and price points. He did not hide any $$$ numbers after we had signed and committed to the job. There were a few times when Mario possibly could've charge us more for any adjustments as per the contract, but he did not. (Of course, we feel that our requests were relatively reasonable and not extreme.) 6. After we agreed to a detailed plan and signed an agreement, Genuine Coatings Inc was able to start work in about one week (of course this timing may vary with each project) 7. Mario's work crew is very efficient and thorough while working on the project, for five and 1/2 days. Each day, they appeared and finished at the expected times as promised. They thoroughly cleaned up any trash and debris, as much as reasonably possible, every single day. 8. The lead foreman, Rodrigo, was on the site all the time when work was being conducted. He checked in with me every morning, and we discussed what work was to be done that day. At the end of each day, he also checked in, to discuss what was accomplished. (I feel like these check-ins were mainly because I requested them from the start of the project, yet now I realize Rodrigo would have conducted the daily business exactly the same, even if we did not meet.) 9. Mario and Rodrigo are in constant contact in communication with each other so at any given time, so they can provide up-to-date status of the work that the work crew is doing. 10. Rodrigo provided short explanatory videos of the painting before, during, and after the job to demonstrate and explain how every completed step looks. (Sometimes I stepped outside to briefly discuss the work.) The videos and text messages helped explain what was being done throughout the project, and did not require us to physically go outside and to look at the status of the work, as it progressed. 11. Genuine Coatings Inc finished the job in less time than expected, as estimated during the initial proposal! 12. Rain Gutters: as discussed above, this was a very important detail for us. Towards the end of the painting job, Genuine Coatings Inc drove the extra truck dedicated to installing the rain gutters. They measured and constructed custom fitting rain gutters for each side of the house. GENUINE COATINGS INC - PAINTING PROJECT with RAIN GUTTERS (Review Part 2 of 2) After making the big decision, and deciding that our house needed an exterior paint job, we knew that we needed to thoroughly research, read reviews, and evaluate which company we could trust and have confidence that they would satisfy all our high expectations and needs. That can be a formidable task, as we realized there are several painting candidates who have numerous stellar reviews, years of valuable experience, and great customer service. Which one do we choose?!!!? A huge determining and deciding factor was that we also needed to install NEW, UPDATED RAIN GUTTERS. (After all, most rain gutters are attached to wood fascia boards, which should be also painted, since they are exposed to the elements.) We quickly learned that many painting companies are not thoroughly involved with handling rain gutters. For example, some companies would not touch rain gutters, at all. Another company would remove the rain gutters, but would not replace them. Another company would remove the rain gutters, but would not dispose of the old worn out pieces. So we wanted to work with the company that would save us time, and would not require us to research and contract with a separate company to just handle the rain gutters. Of all the companies which we researched and interviewed with, only Genuine Coatings Inc was fully experienced to: 1. Remove our old rain gutters 2. Then dispose of the old rain gutters 3. I recently purchased this home in August 2022, I had no idea how much structural repair it needed. Mario and his crew have completed multiple jobs on my property and house. The beauty of each completed project prompted me to hire him for the next one. 1. repairing and painting the perimeter fence, it looks brand new! 2. three patio levels of wood repair to railing and sealing wood joints, discovered with mega termite damage (they removed and replaced eaten wood) railings and slats, also looks brand new 3. replacing the entire gutter system. I challenged them to have it all drain to the back of the house into drain pipes never touching dirt or grass areas. I'm very pleased to say A+ on all gutter removal and installation. 4. I had him repair the roof a 5 step process that took my old roof and makes it almost new with years of new life. Roof work included sealing and cleaning, primer and two coats of this new product out of Australia that adds a decade of life to your old roof. Neighbors thought I replaced the shingles because it looks so new and perfect. 5. He cut me a deal when it came to sealing the ocean of the house. I only did this when I found out on New Year's eve with the torrential rains that my windows, leaked and shingles siding leaked rain water through the walls and through the ceiling below to the first floor. I was horrified and pleaded with Mario to fix the whole mess. They began scraping the old paint and His crew found multiple siding boards with massive termite damage, they replaced all of the destroyed boards and they sealed all of the openings, they're sealed the under the eaves and then after all of the scraping and sealing around each windows and openings then lastly they primed the house and then applied two coats of premium paint to the entire house, exterior wall and driveway edge wall. 6. He repaired 2 entry doors a that were swollen shut & replace locks and handles. He also built me 2 basement doors with hinges and handles and deadbolt locks. Prior they were just a piece of plywood with piano hinges & critters were easily getting into basement, now they can't! Oh my God I have such a beautiful house now, I completely trusted his crew, and the cleanup ability, and the quickness of how they worked. I've been recommending him to multiple neighbors who came by and asked who painted it? And others who stopped their cars and asked who replaced your roof? It's been a great experience working with Genuine Coating and I am very happy with the finish product. Our house had both stucco finich and wood siding on exterior walls. Also, many of the fascia wood framing were rotted and deteriorated. I talked to several painting contractors but they were not able to give me an exact estimate. Many of them didn't even want to fix the deteriorated wood frames. Then I met Mario. First, he walked me through the whole process using his tablet and showing photos of different stages of work.
