Eric answered the phone every time I called, unlike the other company. He was enthusiastic and spoke knowledgeably about garbage doors openers. Eric had several jobs the day I called, but he offered to still install my opener at 7:30 that evening. At the appointed time, Eric showed up still pleasant and ready to get the job done even though it was late. He worked quickly to install the door and even lubricated a second garage door at no charge. I was very impressed and happy with his work. Terrible experience with Ben's Garage & Gates…read more Installer screwed the garage door opener into the sheetrock of the ceiling, instead of the ceiling joists. A few weeks later the opener fell off the ceiling and crashed onto my car, causing damage that will cost over $4,000 to repair. Despite vague promises on two occasions to pay the cost of the repair, no follow up. Now they take the position that I "accepted" the work and they are not responsible for the damage and will not even refund any of the purchase price. They claim to be bonded and insured, but I checked with the Oregon Construction Contractor's Board for a bond and found no registration for Ben's Garage & Gates. There was a registration for Abraham Bar Lyani, the apparent owner of Ben's, but it was suspended according to CCB because "insurance not on file."

The quotes were just for installing the storage racks that I had bought from AMZ. When I got in touch with Ricky, he was kind enough to visit my home and have an initial look at the space available.
