Last year, I called up Bridgetown to get a quote to replace some of my windows. Frank came out to assess and develop a quote. Realizing I wanted to replace all the windows and patio doors, I delayed a year and contacted Frank when I was ready. First of all, Frank is a joy to work with. He was always communicative, prompt and friendly. He offered for us to come out to the showroom and see the windows and doors in person. I went with the Milgard Trinsic Windows and Doors. Second, the install team was excellent. Every day, they arrived on time and hit the ground running. Having a number of contractors for projects over the past 5 years, this team has been the best. I moved out of the house during the project, but I stopped by daily and everything was always cleaned up and in order. Third, I really appreciated the effort and thoroughness on the last day of cleaning the exterior and especially the interior of the house. The team takes great pride in their work and you can tell that is 100% employee owned. If I had to say there was a down side, its you may be in for a wait when placing your order because their work is in high demand (the first year quote, I would have had to wait 4-5 months). Finally, the windows and doors are beautiful. What a difference this made in regards to temperature, sound, and clarity. Not to mention, the ease at using the doors and the contemporary narrow frame modernized our home. We could not be happier. read more

I had 3 windows replaced. Installation took one day and I thought it was quick. There was minimal disruption in the house, and the window areas were tented off to restrict any mess to those areas. The installers answered my questions and explained everything. One of them was damaged(I wouldn't have noticed). They installed it, ordered another window, and replaced the damaged one when the new one arrived at no charge to me. I love the windows. They are energy efficient and let in so much light! read more

I enjoyed working with Bridgetown Window and Door! They initially sent out someone, I believe his name was Ryan, to take a look at the project and talk to me about their options. Ryan followed up with a bid, which was right in line with the bids I got from other window companies. He was helpful and friendly and knowledgeable, which really made a difference. I booked Bridgetown with a deposit of 50% upfront. They're very busy so I was looking at a wait of 6-8 weeks. However, the office staff reached out twice to let me know there was a cancellation and I was able to get the work done sooner than expected. (The first time they reached out was a holiday weekend when we had guests in town, so I had to say no, but I really appreciate that they reached out again to get the work done sooner.) Before the crew came to do the work, Ryan and another staff member came out to double-check measurements. The day of the work, two crew members replaced four windows in a half day. They were quick and clean and polite. They made sure that the final touches were in place, rehanging my blinds and adding screens. They were able to do the install with the framing in tact so I didn't need to paint or anything. There was an issue with one Milgard window, so they explained what that was before they before they left and let me know what the solution was. It was solved within a week of install. I was sad to have to replace the historic windows in my house, but the new double pane windows are great: they actually open, they're more airtight which helps with temperature and smoke from fires, and they actually have screens! OMG!   The best contractor experience ever!!!!        Our 23 year old windows failed and we lost our beautiful view, while the 3 sets of custom 9' tall sliders were impossible to operate properly anymore.  So - gulp!  We were in store for a HUGE bill, especially given the huge inflation in product costs in recent years.     We had become a fan of Kevin's when he sold us a job at another company over a dozen years ago.  That was just when he was about to depart to start Bridgetown.  Remembering how incredibly knowledgeable, dialed into the details and friendly he was, we tracked him down.  We did not shop the quote as we have learned that a project like this must be done by people you trust.  We were not let down.  The job started on time, was completed within the week and the care of our home and quality installation exceeded our expectations.  Scott and his install team is incredible with communication so extremely thorough and timely.    This kind of quality work is worth every penny = VALUE received!     Then, it gets better.   There was some minor collateral damage that couldn't be avoided and could easily have been our responsibility (the blue tape pulled up stain/finish on about 6 boards on our sun-drenched hardwoods.)  We didn't even notice it, but Kevin's team pointed it out.  There was no discussion as Kevin immediately took full responsibility, found a top-notch floor repair guy and boards replaced at no cost in no time.  Wow!  The last company we dealt with we had to fight and claw for every little thing owed to us.  Not at Bridgetown - they truly put their customers first!  Try 'em, you'll love 'em! read more

Every now and then I run across a contractor that stands above all the others. Think of the pilot who landed a jet on the Hudson River with 155 people on board, saving all of their lives, that kind of stand out. OK, Bridgetown didn't save lives. But, they sure stand out in all the right ways. As I've mentioned in other reviews, I always stick with a contractor that experiences something going wrong, and then steps up to rectify everything. That happened in the case of our sliding door. The manufacturer of the window constructed it in such a way that parts of it would need to be stained or painted partway through installation. None of us saw that coming. Bridgetown sent an installer out to temporarily remove part of the window, allowing me to stain it, and then reinstalling it after it dried. They always had an installer on site during this, and never charged extra for the surprise. In the end the installation is as perfect as one could hope for. The slider operates wonderfully. It looks great, and it keeps the weather outdoors, where it belongs. Plus, it matches the other windows put in several years ago. Bridgetown will get all the rest of my window projects. read more

So, everything about this experience has been positive. We talked to a number of different companies, all coming in with an estimate around the same $ amount. We chose Bridgetown solely based on the estimator, Ryan, who came to the house. He was personable, listened to what we hoped to achieve within our (not huge) budget & was respectful of our financial situation, my personal taste & the overall feel of the neighborhood. The owner came out for the second look because we have some weird windows & I just feel like they really made sure all was going to work out. When the installers showed up they were all remarkably professional & conscientious of me working downstairs while they installed the windows. Seriously an incredible crew. Jeremy and crew were as good as it gets & I work in commercial installations. I never once felt uncomfortable, they were kind to my dog who took advantage of the open door & brought her inside with a sense of humor. I had a great experience getting a new front door from Bridgetown window and door. I contacted other companies, including Lifetime windows and doors, and was told to email them a picture of my entry with some measurements and they would just give me a bid over email. I wasn't comfortable with this because I wasn't sure what material and style would look best on my home. It also took her over a week to respond to my emails and I felt like I was getting nowhere. This is a long post, but it was a big job and a chunk of change, so here you go: My 3100 square foot 1920's home needed all the windows replaced, plus the front door and side panels, a huge job, but with better temperature control, sound control, aesthetic benefits, and reduced energy usage in mind I began my research. I decided on Marvin windows, both full frame replacements and upper/lower sash replacements. Then I looked for an installer. I wanted a local company, family people, for all the good reasons that apply. I spoke with friends and neighbors, got several bids from local companies, and decided to go with Bridgetown window and door. It was an easy choice. They were not the lowest bid, but I am old enough now to know that is not the determining factor - it's the quality of the people installing the windows that really counts. The Bridgetown people were rock solid and actually, sincerely interested in doing quality work. They helped me refine my choices for the various windows, glazing, haredware, with zero pressure - I was never "upsold" at all, it was always about helping me implement my vision for the space. As part of the job, the Bridgetown crew replaced a lot of the 1960's casework used when 7 unfortunate aluminum monstrosities were installed back then. I wanted to restore the original look of the windows and casework, down to the last detail. Bridgetown did it all! I am so happy I chose them for this massive project. Bridgetown was excellent from start to finish - great communication, awesome crew, great work, neat and orderly, the place was all cleaned up by the end of each day, and all were easy to be around. As is to be expected with such projects, there were a few small glitches which were handled easily, honorably, in a heartbeat. Did I mention great communications? That meant a lot to me. It may help to know that I am a working class Irish Catholic [in remission], fortunate to have made it to the professional class [by the skin of my teeth]. I am definitely frugal, but not at all cheap - I can't afford cheap things. I want quality goods that will last for decades. After all, these windows are not just for me, they are for those that come after me. Replacing all the windows and front door and side panels was the second largest purchase of my entire life. Kevin and crew replaced our 108 year old drafty and not-at-all secure door with a solid-fir, top-of-the-line Simpson door -- and we couldn't be happier with the end result. After going through exhaustive due-diligence and several bids, Kevin and crew came in equal-to or below every other bid, had better reviews, and offered higher-quality doors. Plus, I just had a better gut feeling about working with him. (Shockingly, some of the competing bids were nearly 30% higher for less-desirable, fiberglass options. ) The installation was incredibly precise, and they were able to salvage much of the existing interior trim work. I found Bridgetown via a recommendation by a realtor, and after a comparison estimate with a national chain, went with Bridegtown. Dealing with my home's old windows was a big issue for me from the first winter I lived here. Air would come through the cracks and the condensation was particularly bad. I received several bids for both replacement and refurbish and the cost for either approach would have been about the same. I was concerned new windows would look out of place in my 1926 home but I just couldn't get on board with storm windows. In the living room was a large, fixed window. Air wouldn't flow through the house as well as it could have and without AC I knew I wanted that addressed as well. Kevin presented at least five options. When I finally saw a living room window on a house in my neighborhood that I thought would be perfect, Kevin let me know he designed that himself several years prior! I knew we were on the same page. The install went perfectly. I can't say enough good things about the crew who replaced the windows over a three-day period. They were professional, kind, hard-working, and left everything in order at the end of each work day. In addition to the custom living room window, two windows in my kitchen were custom installs in order to create deeper sills for my plants. The new windows have made my home more comfortable and they open/close so smoothly! I really like how they lock into place. Two years ago I became a first time homeowner to a spunky house from 1941 with lots of original windows and doors. My front door and french doors in the kitchen both needed to be replaced, the former due to faulty repairs in the past and the latter as they only opened half the year and the other half of the year they let in gusts of air. I also had a poorly placed single egress door in the kitchen that I wanted to replace with a full window to match the french doors. I desperately did not want to lose the charm of the older windows and doors. I also have zero experience or bandwidth to do any of this work on my own. This is where the team at Bridgetown took over. Kevin helped sketch out a custom Marvin window that would best match the french door set. He took the time to explain the pros and cons of the various options and to bring multiple ideas to the table for me to consider. The team at Chown helped me find hardware that matched the finish of other pieces in my home and -- very patiently -- dealt with finding pieces that wouldn't be too difficult for my daughters itty-bitty hands to use. The end result is that my kitchen looks fully remodeled based on the amount of light that comes in. The dining room, which the front door opens into, now has significantly more natural light. The front door is an absolute beauty in itself (friends opted to have their engagement photo with it as the backdrop, it's THAT beautiful). There were a few speed bumps, that's a fact. I chose custom -- and apparently very -- persnickety hardware from Chown. Wait time was longer than I would have liked and a few rounds of repairs were necessary.
