Stopped in for a late lunch early dinner. Sat at bar Cameron was our bartender. He was very attentive and gave good recommendations. I had the black cherry mule and my husband burnt fashioned both were delicious. I had scallop entree with fresh peas and snap peas. It was delicious cooked perfectly. My husband the filet with asparagus and potatoes. The potatoes were like nothing we have ever had very crispy and delicious. His steak was cooked exactly as he ordered. Very clean and neat lighting inside. They have a large outdoor seating area too.

Always outstanding and that's why we continue to enjoy this amazing restaurant. Not only is the service staff awesome but the food is the best Bistro in Pensacola. The interior of the restaurant has a vibe and it's very chill. I walk in smiling and I leave smiling (and full). Our favorite of course is the Carpaccio a thinly perfect slices of filet Mignon layered on a plate with a beautiful arugula salad with large shaved Parmesan, picked onions, watermelon radishes, tomatoes, scallions, white truffle horseradish aioli and aged balsamic. If you haven't tried this quaint little cozy restaurant you're seriously missing out. Thank you, To all staff for all you do. Consistency is everything.

My family and I absolutely loved our brunch at George this morning! We sat on their beautiful covered patio (which also had heaters around for colder days). Everything we ate was very good. We started with the chef's special pear tart, and it was a much more savory dish than we were expecting, but it was delicious. The avocado power bowl and smoked salmon tartine were my personal favorites, and my sister is bias to the bread pudding benedict. There were so many other dishes on the menu that sounded great, they truly have something for everyone. Next time, I'd want to try one of their many specialty coffees- we saw a few tables drinking them and they looked great. Our waitress was attentive and super nice, but I think it was a bit overkill to have her recite every detail about all of the specials. It was too loud on the patio that it was hard to hear, and there were so many specialty dishes and details that we forgot most of what she said by the end. Would have been better to just print out the specials on a separate menu that we could view and ask questions if needed.

The brunch menu has a fantastic assortment of interesting selections. One of the best beef carpaccios I have had and loved the large flakey Parmesan on the truffle fries. Had great service and a very nice ambiance. Cant wait to go back and try more items on their menu.

Pretty good ambiance. Food was ok, our overall experience was not worth the price. When I made reservations I indicated it was a special occasion, the waiter asked if it was a special occasion and I informed him that it was, it seemed everyone just wanted to know for no special reason. There was no acknowledgment at all. While efficient, our waiter never smiled or made any small talk with us. We are more warmly greeted and more enthusiastically served at Rio Bravo, which is a mere fraction of the price with better tasting food.

We ate here after my friend's graduation ceremony. I see why she chose this place; our experience lived up to all the good reviews. I love that George's changes its menu with the seasons. The sweet potato horchata is delicious. Sweet potatoes & horchata are two of my favorite things, so I was excited to try it! It was delicious & I finished it before we even got our entrees. It's like sweet potato pie in a cup. I asked for it without the alcohol & it was still a hit. So good. This pasta was some of the best I've had in a while. The noodles are made in-house & I enjoyed how flavorful the sautéed mushrooms are. I asked for blackened shrimp & while they were a bit salty, they complemented the dish overall. I wish I still lived in the area because if so, there are other drinks & dishes I would've tried, such as the apple cider matcha & short rib ravioli. The restaurant is also well-decorated & our server was warm & nice, but service was slow at times. I ran out of water & waited about 10 minutes for more. Also, after we got boxes to pack our food up, it took a little while for our server to return with the checks. Overall, the ambience here is warm & the food was tasty. Everyone in our party of 5 loved their meals & drinks.

Went for brunch and it was my first amazing visit. I'm always pleasantly surprised when I get fantastic service and real chef made food made from great ingredients in Pensacola because there are so many places that just don't give a damn here when you're not downtown or East Hill. George is the exception. It turns out the founders are originally from New York so that makes sense. The restaurant looks like an old house that was turned into a restaurant right on ninth Avenue. I went to college here but I can't remember what was here but I think it was some sort of an eye establishment previously?? Either way, I'm glad George took its place! Anyway, it's super cute with a wraparound porch and outside seating. We sat inside and the hostess put us in a nice quiet corner. Our server was delightful. She described everything deliciously and I wanted almost everything she offered, but I'm trying to lose the 20 pounds I've gained since I became a nomad, so I opted for the coastal omelette that she said was her fave and I was already eyeballing. It certainly didn't disappoint. It was STUFFED with blue crab meat. They didn't scrimp!!! it also contained blackened shrimp, but you could really see the crab! The green sauce wasn't too heavy; perfect so that you can taste all ingredients. Not overpowering, just complimentary. My husband got the lobster Benedict and it was equally fabulous. We ended up sharing so I got one of his Benedict and he got half of my omelette. This is the first time in Pensacola that I got an eggs Benedict that was done perfectly! French technique for sure! Everyone else here, including chains like First Watch makes eggs Benedict too runny and when you ask for a medium, they overcooked the yolk. George does it right!! This is probably my new place for breakfast when I have to be in Pensacola. So before we got our mains HubbyStanks got a fall feels drink called "get figgy with it." So cute garnished with a dehydrated orange slice. We also got the pair and fig ricotta that came with ciabatta bread and we both agreed we could come in just for that! I'll definitely be back for the great atmosphere, Chef, server and food!!! Everything was perfect!

We had an absolutely fantastic dinner at George Bistro last night--what a gem in Pensacola! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was welcoming and upscale-casual, with great energy but not stuffy at all. We started with the ricotta fig and pear appetizer, and oh my goodness, it was incredible--creamy, sweet, tangy, and perfectly balanced. Such a fresh and creative dish! For mains, my partner had the chili citrus glazed duck, and it was cooked to perfection: crispy skin, juicy meat, and that glaze brought such bright, zesty flavors that paired beautifully with the sides. I went with the cobia almondine, and it was one of the best fish dishes I've had--perfectly seared, flaky, with the brown butter, almonds, and charred lemon elevating every bite. The cauliflower purée underneath was silky and delicious. We couldn't stop at just dinner--we shared a few desserts (the variety was tempting!), and everything was spot-on: rich, not too sweet, and beautifully presented. The service was truly amazing--our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made great recommendations without being pushy. They really made us feel taken care of. If you're looking for elevated, ingredient-driven food with Southern-meets-French flair in Pensacola, George Bistro is a must-try. We'll definitely be back soon--maybe for brunch next time! Highly recommend--5 stars all the way!

We visited in September for my birthday dinner & had a great meal! Ambiance is on the nicer end of casual, & the service was excellent all night. We ordered the crispy artichokes, the duck, & the lamb chops. Huge shoutout for the complimentary birthday tiramisu & thank you to the staff for making it a special evening! Quality of the food was definitely fine-dining level! The duck & lamb was cooked and seasoned perfectly & the flavors & textures of each dish complemented each other extremely well. I will say even though we expected smaller portions, they were smaller than what we would have liked given the price range. If they had added one more piece to each main item on the dish, it would've been more proportionate. Overall, still recommend for a special night out! Just maybe splurge a little more & get an extra appetizer or entree to share!

So, we went for my work Christmas party. The restaurant itself is cute AF. The food was delicious! The price was reasonable for what we had. The customer service was on point too!! I would definitely go back for a date night! My husband and I got to try bone marrow for the first time. Just give it a try! They had an expansive drink list and a decent wine list as well!

Beef carpaccio. Insanely good. I especially liked their little salad accompaniment.

I found this restaurant through yelps top 100 date night restaurants. We were in town for a business training so we were so excited to come. Jerold Hall said he knew the owners as well so we knew we were in good hands. The food was just exquisite and so were the service and drinks. I would say the dress code is more casual but the food is elevated and well balanced. We told the waitress at the beginning of our dining experience it was our first date night in a while and they even brought us a dessert to take home with a board that said date night with hearts. That was so thoughtful and we were so happy to have dined here. 10/10 Thank you George and staff, Tony and Lindsay Carta

Ask the Community - George Bistro + Bar

    Is this restaurant kid-friendly?

    Yes.

    Is there a dress code?

    Unfortunately no

Is there a private space for a rehearsal dinner? 25 people?

Yes I would say you can make it outside underneath with the night lights would be very pretty They could gate it off . Just an idea .

Can you make a reservation for a party of 10?

Yes. As long as you call ahead of time so they can fit all your guests.

    Is there a Happy Hour?

Yes there is, not sure of the time, but usually it starts around 3 or 4 and ends about 6.

Are there TV's at the bar? Wondering about watching football tonight...

We have 2 TVs behind our bar. Join us for dinner and let our bartenders know which game you’d like to see!

    Is there a kids menu?

Not specifically but our grandchildren (9 & 6) like to go there

How many people does it look like it would seat?

The whole restaurant? I would guess 50-ish.

This app is frustrating, can't we sign up on a waiting list?

Doesn't look like it. Restaurants have to pay to be on there.

    Are there vegan options?

Not really. Based on the menu I'm currently viewing, it looks like essentially the only vegan options would be some of the salads, and even then you may have to ask them to hold certain ingredients. They may do some customizing, though! :)

Let me tell you this airport is cozy. And by cozy, I mean you blink and you've seen all 11 terminals. It's so small if you miss your gate, you can probably still hear them calling your name from the parking lot. Naturally, I "ran into" Beach House... mainly because it's the only place to run into. But thank God it was there. I ordered the bowl and the wings, and listen I was hungrier than a hostage. That food didn't just hit the spot, it tackled it. The wings were on point, crispy and sauced like they meant business. The bowl? Cleaned it like it owed me money. After a week of work, that meal felt like PTO for my taste buds. Now let's talk about Kourtney. Airport service can sometimes feel like, "Here's your food, good luck in life." But not Kourtney. She delivered the kind of service you don't expect in an airport especially when most customers are one-and-done travelers she may never see again. She was friendly, attentive, and on it. Absolute pro. If airport hospitality had a Hall of Fame, she's first ballot. I know I'll be back working the Panhandle again, and when I do, I'm pulling up to Beach House before I even check my gate. For now 100% recommend. Small airport, big flavor, and service that actually makes you smile before getting crammed into seat 23B.

The Pensacola airport does not have an endless supply of eating/drinking establishments, but what they do have works just fine. That includes Pensacola Beach House, a nice spot for a drink or maybe some bar & grille fare. We had a flight to catch and a thirst to quench. Pensacola Beach House met one of those two needs, serving up the locally sourced Pensacola Bay Brewing's brown ale in a bottle. A smashingly good choice! Though we did not eat, the service was excellent, and I did ogle the young man's street tacos next to me, which looked pretty fantastic. I was admittedly not hungry, so maybe next time. It is super easy to find on the only real concourse, great service, nice space, and not airport-priced. I think I paid $7-8 for a bottle of beer, which is not outrageous for an airport. Great spot!

They hit that mark, but it cost me $40 with tax & tip. That is for just a salad and an order of french fries! The water came quickly in a real glass and tasted excellent. Very clean and cold, and greatly appreciated. Since it was a real glass I did not ask for a straw which is unusual for me. I enjoyed a nice view of the skatepark across the street as I dined, and watching all the people having a good time in the outdoors was refreshing. Most restaurants don't offer a view like this. There are a set of dining bars with chairs at the windows on either side of the door to amplify the view, but I opted for a traditional table since there were many available when I entered. As for the food... well, it was good, but not great. The $14 iceberg wedge was dotted with some delicious pancetta and gorgonzola cheese, and the lettuce was super fresh and crisp. Where it missed the mark was the overly mayonnaisey dressing. It really needed some more seasoning or something and I could not taste any buttermilk at all, even though it is called a "herb buttermilk dressing." The single cherry tomato (halved) was delicious and sweet, as were the 4 thin slices of radish. While the presentation was nice, it really needed more tomatoes and radish in my opinion, and a stoutly buttermilk dressing. The duck fat fries were crisp, too crisp. I enjoy the soft mushy potato inside the crispness of lard-fried potatoes, but very few of these offered that. They were generally too crisp, and some were crispy all the way thru making them a solid crisp. They came mostly unseasoned so I had to use the salt shaker generously. The sausage bits were good but a bit on the greasy side. The dipping sauce was mild, bland and oily, and I wished they had offered a ketchup alongside as well. Whether homemade or store bought, ketchup would have added color and some much needed acidity to the plate. Your mileage will vary, but for me, there are better options in my price range and this is not a place I can take hungry teenagers.
