She took the time to go over all the specials and let us know that everything is made in house since it's a scratch kitchen, which was a nice touch. We arrived right when they opened, and the restaurant filled up fast, so it's definitely a popular spot. We ordered the George Fries, and they were absolutely loaded! The portion was huge and could easily feed two people as an appetizer. For my entrée, I had the Truffle Chicken Alfredo, and it was delicious. The noodles were thick, chewy, and cooked perfectly, and the sauce was rich without being too heavy. It also happened to be my boyfriend's and my anniversary, and the staff surprised us with a complimentary chocolate cake, which was such a thoughtful gesture. We were so full that we had to wait until we got home to enjoy it! Overall, the food, service, and hospitality were all amazing. Outstanding! We needed a bite to eat before we flew home from our trip in Seaside. This was redemption for our Bud and Alley night that was awful. I was so impressed by the wine and libations menu. I had two glasses of a nice French Sauvignon blanc. My husband enjoyed the whiskey selection. We all enjoyed appetizers- heirloom tomato and burrata salad with yummy bread and a special of the day- crab claws in a white wine butter sauce with grilled lemon. Both divine. The lamb burger was perfectly seasoned and everyone enjoyed my truffle fries. The homemade tzatziki sauce was perfectly balanced and just delicious. The lobster rolls were stuffed with fresh, sweet lobster and the basil aioli the perfect compliment. Such a great value. My girls' likened it to lobster rolls we get in Maine. The blackened fish sandwich had a nice, bold Cajun flavor and the pickled cucumbers were the perfect match in acidity. Overall, one of the best meals we had on our entire trip!! Bummed about our visit. Got the lobster roll and side salad. The lobster roll was 90% bread 4 cucumber slices and romaine to fill it in with 5 little lobster knuckles no variety of meat in my Pic what you see is what you get. Hot lobster cold cucumber and romaine to fill it up makes no sense. They serve it like they are hiding the amount which is nothing. My wife and I sent both of ours back. The manager said they do 2-2.5 ounces of lobster on each roll! What?! The side salad was lettuce with balsamic that's it. For 30 bucks I'd expect more and better quality lobster highway robbery. Went to George for a cute date night and it did not disappoint! Our server was attentive, personable, and funny. I ordered two different cocktails (one seasonal and one dessert) and both were delicious. For food, we ordered the mini crab cakes. They were yummy but a tad bit dry. A little bit of lemon juice helped though! For entrees we got the pork chop and the Alfredo pappardelle with blackened shrimp. SO good! My date loved the pork chop and the Alfredo was next level. Stopped in for a late lunch early dinner. Sat at bar Cameron was our bartender. He was very attentive and gave good recommendations. I had the black cherry mule and my husband burnt fashioned both were delicious. I had scallop entree with fresh peas and snap peas. It was delicious cooked perfectly. My family and I absolutely loved our brunch at George this morning! We sat on their beautiful covered patio (which also had heaters around for colder days). Everything we ate was very good. We started with the chef's special pear tart, and it was a much more savory dish than we were expecting, but it was delicious. The avocado power bowl and smoked salmon tartine were my personal favorites, and my sister is bias to the bread pudding benedict. There were so many other dishes on the menu that sounded great, they truly have something for everyone. Next time, I'd want to try one of their many specialty coffees- we saw a few tables drinking them and they looked great. Our waitress was attentive and super nice, but I think it was a bit overkill to have her recite every detail about all of the specials. It was too loud on the patio that it was hard to hear, and there were so many specialty dishes and details that we forgot most of what she said by the end. Would have been better to just print out the specials on a separate menu that we could view and ask questions if needed. read more

Pretty good ambiance. Food was ok, our overall experience was not worth the price. When I made reservations I indicated it was a special occasion, the waiter asked if it was a special occasion and I informed him that it was, it seemed everyone just wanted to know for no special reason. There was no acknowledgment at all. While efficient, our waiter never smiled or made any small talk with us. We ate here after my friend's graduation ceremony. I see why she chose this place; our experience lived up to all the good reviews. I love that George's changes its menu with the seasons. The sweet potato horchata is delicious. Sweet potatoes & horchata are two of my favorite things, so I was excited to try it! It was delicious & I finished it before we even got our entrees. It's like sweet potato pie in a cup. I asked for it without the alcohol & it was still a hit. So good. This pasta was some of the best I've had in a while. The noodles are made in-house & I enjoyed how flavorful the sautéed mushrooms are. I asked for blackened shrimp & while they were a bit salty, they complemented the dish overall. I wish I still lived in the area because if so, there are other drinks & dishes I would've tried, such as the apple cider matcha & short rib ravioli. The restaurant is also well-decorated & our server was warm & nice, but service was slow at times. I ran out of water & waited about 10 minutes for more. Went for brunch and it was my first amazing visit. I'm always pleasantly surprised when I get fantastic service and real chef made food made from great ingredients in Pensacola because there are so many places that just don't give a damn here when you're not downtown or East Hill. George is the exception. It turns out the founders are originally from New York so that makes sense. The restaurant looks like an old house that was turned into a restaurant right on ninth Avenue. I went to college here but I can't remember what was here but I think it was some sort of an eye establishment previously?? Either way, I'm glad George took its place! Anyway, it's super cute with a wraparound porch and outside seating. We sat inside and the hostess put us in a nice quiet corner. Our server was delightful. She described everything deliciously and I wanted almost everything she offered, but I'm trying to lose the 20 pounds I've gained since I became a nomad, so I opted for the coastal omelette that she said was her fave and I was already eyeballing. It certainly didn't disappoint. It was STUFFED with blue crab meat. They didn't scrimp!!! it also contained blackened shrimp, but you could really see the crab! The green sauce wasn't too heavy; perfect so that you can taste all ingredients. Not overpowering, just complimentary. My husband got the lobster Benedict and it was equally fabulous. We ended up sharing so I got one of his Benedict and he got half of my omelette. This is the first time in Pensacola that I got an eggs Benedict that was done perfectly! French technique for sure! Everyone else here, including chains like First Watch makes eggs Benedict too runny and when you ask for a medium, they overcooked the yolk. George does it right!! This is probably my new place for breakfast when I have to be in Pensacola. So before we got our mains HubbyStanks got a fall feels drink called "get figgy with it." So cute garnished with a dehydrated orange slice. We also got the pair and fig ricotta that came with ciabatta bread and we both agreed we could come in just for that! We are new to the area and had heard that this was a place that we must put on our list. So I made a reservation and I strongly suggest that because it was packed when we arrived. The establishment is so nice and the decor is very relaxing. The host greeted us immediately and gave us some nice compliments also. We were escorted to our seats and server Tatum was there waiting. She introduced herself and told us a little about the restaurant and what they specialize in. She told us about the specials and took our drink order. We ordered the savory bread pudding Benedict and the Bonita's lobster roll both came with hand cut Parmesan truffle fries. Let's start with the bread pudding. Wow, isn't your ordinary bread pudding. If you don't like bread pudding, you will love this one! It starts with a special type bread they make and thick cut bacon is baked all through it. Then it's topped with a poached egg with a special hollandaise sauce. Every bite was full of flavor and I hate I ate it so fast. The lobster roll was so tender and buttery. The roll was fresh a little toasty just enough for a little crunch when you bite. The fries, I never had hand cut fries that taste so good. The fresh Parmesan cheese and truffle oil took them over the top. They really take time to pay attention to detail. If you haven't eaten here yet, you must put this one high on your list. We ordered the crispy artichokes, the duck, & the lamb chops. Huge shoutout for the complimentary birthday tiramisu & thank you to the staff for making it a special evening! Quality of the food was definitely fine-dining level! The duck & lamb was cooked and seasoned perfectly & the flavors & textures of each dish complemented each other extremely well. I will say even though we expected smaller portions, they were smaller than what we would have liked given the price range. If they had added one more piece to each main item on the dish, it would've been more proportionate. Overall, still recommend for a special night out! We had an absolutely fantastic dinner at George Bistro last night--what a gem in Pensacola! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was welcoming and upscale-casual, with great energy but not stuffy at all. We started with the ricotta fig and pear appetizer, and oh my goodness, it was incredible--creamy, sweet, tangy, and perfectly balanced. Such a fresh and creative dish! For mains, my partner had the chili citrus glazed duck, and it was cooked to perfection: crispy skin, juicy meat, and that glaze brought such bright, zesty flavors that paired beautifully with the sides. I went with the cobia almondine, and it was one of the best fish dishes I've had--perfectly seared, flaky, with the brown butter, almonds, and charred lemon elevating every bite. The cauliflower purée underneath was silky and delicious. We couldn't stop at just dinner--we shared a few desserts (the variety was tempting!), and everything was spot-on: rich, not too sweet, and beautifully presented. Great restaurant overall, definitely one of our go-to spots for brunch or celebrating something special. The service is solid, the vibe feels upscale but relaxed, and the food never disappoints. I knocked off one star strictly because of the pricing. I understand it's a premium experience and expect to pay more, but the portion sizes could be more generous for what you're spending. We came here for Valentine's Day and have no regrets. We ordered two Sazerac cocktails, bottled water, the heirloom tomato + burrata, bone marrow, and the pomegranate grilled lamb chops. Everything was delicious. That said, the total with tip came out to about $185, which felt a bit steep considering the portions. The lamb came with three chops, and the bone marrow had three pieces, though one was pretty small, so more like two and a half. I found this restaurant through yelps top 100 date night restaurants. We were in town for a business training so we were so excited to come. Jerold Hall said he knew the owners as well so we knew we were in good hands. The food was just exquisite and so were the service and drinks. I would say the dress code is more casual but the food is elevated and well balanced. We told the waitress at the beginning of our dining experience it was our first date night in a while and they even brought us a dessert to take home with a board that said date night with hearts. Visited this quaint restaurant in Pensacola that offers both inside and outside seating. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by the hostess and they seated us immediately. Service was pleasant. Our waitress who shared the daily specials and was attentive ensuring our drinks were full. The food was delicious! The best part were the pomegranate lamb chops both tasty and fall off the bone meat. My only recommendation is the improve the lighting. The lighting is down as part of the ambiance; however, it was so dark, we needed to constantly use our phone lights to read the menu and sometimes see what was on our plates. read more

We ordered everything from the coastal omelette, brunch burger, steak and eggs, shrimp and grits, short rib mac and cheese, and lobster eggs benedict. Everything got great reviews; some dishes could have used a bit more seasoning, but definitely tasty overall. The drinks were on point as well. The Blood Orange Margarita was the table fave. Tried George's Bistro and were SO happily surprised. Was merely a random drive-by. Such a cozy and comfortable "vibe". The staff were all friendly and efficient. That Food, though! A "Sweet Potato Bisque" was other-worldly! So flavorful and fresh. Followed that with Heirloom tomatoes and Burrata was served beautifully and gave the name "heirloom" a new meaning for us! Usually we have a good experience dining here, which is why today was so disappointing. Despite making a reservation, our party was seated outside. Then, while our server was bringing drinks to the table, he accidentally spilled an entire iced latte on me. The glass shattered as it fell, leaving broken glass in my lap and causing a few small cuts. I completely understand that accidents happen, and I don't fault the server for that. What was disappointing was how the situation was handled afterward. No one offered a Band-Aid, etc, and a manager never came over to apologize or speak with me. It made for a very uncomfortable, sticky, and hot brunch experience. I hope George takes situations like this more seriously in the future, as a little care and concern would have gone a long way. read more
