We have never had this problem in any of our other landscaping beds. We contacted Luke to come out and see what options are available. He was rude and disrespectful. Said we should hire someone to weed and cut the grass since we can afford it. Complained about replacing 5 bushes that were under warranty the year before, and said he didn't want our business anymore. We spent over $5000 for his services over the past 3 years. I took a few branches down this past weekend...well maybe more than a few…read more I thought it would be so easy to find a company to come and chip the branches so instead of putting it in the back of the yard I put it all around our playground set. After 8 calls and 6 no's I finally got ahold of Oakleaf Treeworks. Within 4 hours they came out for an estimate for chipping services ($250 in my case which is super reasonable) and they'll be doing the work on Friday. Just very very impressed with this local business!

Owned by married couple Miriam and Santiago, from my initial contact with Miriam to the initial visit with Santiago, I knew this was the right business to work with. We hired them on the spot to trim the four very tall oak trees and a hickory that live in our backyard. We initially called Oakleaf, because they are arborists and understand trees. I also knew they would climb each tree with love, instead of pull up in a truck and just chop away. And, I wanted to support an independent business. Last year our trees were misdiagnosed as having some issues. We received two over-inflated estimates to have chemical treatments pumped into our trees, and one company wanted to cut down a tree and remove a neighbor's fence to get to it. We were devastated at the thought of losing one of our magical trees. Turns out all they needed was some serious pruning. And, we even learned our oaks are 300 years old. After a few back and fourth text messages with Miriam to find a nice dry day for Santiago and his team to come out, we finally found a day. The guys came out with ladders and ropes and chipper machine. I was stunned to see them climb our trees and get to work. It was like an acrobat show! At first I was sad to see some of our legacy limbs go, but I no longer have to worry about our trees accidentally dropping dead limbs on our neighbor. After several hours, they guys went from tree to tree. They carefully moved our patio furniture on the deck out of harms way, and put it back like nothing happened. Also, when they left, they cleaned up absolutely everything. Very reasonable estimate. We are so grateful for Miriam and Santiago. We inherited a front stoop from the previous homeowner that was reinforced with brick risers and…read morepavers. On the top stoop, there were several bricks that were deteriorating below our front doormat. It looked like some of the bricks on the edge were replaced over time and either didn't match or were unlevel. The hardest part was finding a replacement brick that matched in color and size. It turns out, they don't make these particular bricks anymore. We called Stonemark Hardscapes along with 2 other companies to have them all assess the situation and propose solutions. Pete from Stonemark seemed the most knowledgeable and we liked his solution the best. Even though the same style brick didn't exist, he gave us some to choose from and said they could be cut to fit the interior bricks on the stoop and the size difference wouldn't be noticeable. He also agreed to fix the loose bricks on both the first and second stoop and put in some chicken wire around the whole stoop, which we had requested in an attempt to prevent the annual digging/nesting of skunks and opossums. When he and his crew showed up, they were courteous enough to stay off the new grass seed that I had just planted off of our walkway. For an additional charge, they added paver sand and sealer for the whole walkway and stoop. They got the job done in one day and we were very pleased with the work! We loved how the replacement bricks looked even with the old bricks as a border. They were a little on the expensive side, but I think I got the right value for the price. There were a few minor issues with a couple of things, but after a lot of communication with Pete, they took care to make sure that we were satisfied with the work and the end result.

Waited a couple of weeks and contacted them through their site and explained the situation - still no response - AND I see on their site that Lucien is the OWNER. Stay away from this company.
