We have used this company several times for landscaping design and installation over the past 3 years. Everything went well until there was an issue. Our last installation was creating a bed of river rock alongside our house to eliminate a steep area of grass cutting, last summer. This year that bed has been overflowing with weeds. We have never had this problem in any of our other landscaping beds. We contacted Luke to come out and see what options are available. He was rude and disrespectful. Said we should hire someone to weed and cut the grass since we can afford it. Complained about replacing 5 bushes that were under warranty the year before, and said he didn't want our business anymore. We spent over $5000 for his services over the past 3 years. If you are looking for excellent customer service and communication skills, look elsewhere. read more

We had a 300 year old oak tree removed because sadly it had died. We were so impressed with the service we received from Lucas Landscaping. The office staff was pleasant and responsive and the tree techs did a fabulous job of taking down the tree. It was a daunting task to remove the tree from our backyard but they did it efficiently and left our yard clean which was amazing considering the work they completed. GREAT COMPANY! read more

Hired Lucas Landscaping to build a flagstone patio in my yard. The work was done beautifully with the lead man, Heriberto, a very competant paving worker. However, less than one year after, one of the flagstones cracked significantly. Luke would not consider repairing this or even coming out to see the problem or offer any solutions. Additionally, he was quite rude. Later in the summer, many of the flagstones began to discolor around the edges where the stone met the grout. Again, Luke was not willing to offer any solutions and, again, made me feel like it was my fault for choosing flagstone with the remark, "You chose it!" I wouldn't deal with this company again. They do beautiful work to begin with but if problems arise later on, you are on your own. read more

Lucas was great. He and his crew did a big 3 part job at our house. 200ft french drain with catch basins and tied in the gutters. Stone seating area and then they excavated a bunch of old, dead shrubs and replanted arborvities and hydragenas to turn an eye sore into a good looking area. His crew did all the work by hand and busted their humps. Would highly recommend Luke and his crew. read more

I used this landscaper for a small job, hoping to use him for a bigger job in the future. At first Luke was great. But then there was a problem with a carpet of weed growth within 2 weeks after the job was completed. The response I received was unprofessional and showed basically no interest in finding a solution. In fact I received an email blaming the problem on me. We had a very pleasant experience with Lucas Landscaping. This was a welcome surprise given the past few experiences we've had with projects in our backyard have been somewhat traumatic. There's just something about digging up your backyard that causes some gut wrenching, because someone is destroying (with the goal of improving, of course) the place where your family and children play. We hired Lucas to help us with drainage issues and a muddy backyard and they suggested cost effective solutions that went beyond just solving the issue at hand. Our backyard was a swamp, especially by the fence and by the swing set where our children played everyday. Instead of proposing expensive drainage solutions, they suggested a little regrading and building an enclosed area for the swing set so mud would never be an issue again. The sections by the fence were lined with river rocks and the whole project was completed in a day. I no longer have to deal with muddy feet and paws and our backyard looks 100% better than it did before. The communication was excellent throughout the process, the cost was reasonable and the end product exceeded my expectations. read more

I don't remember the last time I was actually eager to write a review. Too often it would be a negative one so, when the opportunity to write a positive one comes along, I don't hesitate. Yesterday the crew from Lucas Landscape and Design arrived and didn't leave until, at their request, I walked my entire property to make sure every tree was supposed to be removed was cut down, every tree that required pruning, every tree that required shaping, was done to my and my wife's satisfaction. If I could give them six stars I would. From the very beginning, when I was getting quotes from other reputable landscaping companies, Lucas was the only one who provided immediate, typed quotes and who changed the quotes as new work was requested. Today, as promised, they picked up the trees that were placed near the road to be picked up. All branches and debris were removed. This company really cares! Two of the five workers who came, Felix and Flaco, took special care to make sure that that no limbs touched our home - despite the close proximity of an ash tree that hung over our roof. I used them initially for red mulch which by itself made a huge statement in my yard, then slowly added flagstone steps into my side yard so I didn't have to step into wet mulch. Then I had them work with me on redoing my front yard which was overgrown by utilizing some of my shrubbery, transplanting some to other areas, getting rid of a lot, adding a complete perimeter of hastas and perennial day lilies. The biggest compliment was my next door neighbor thanking me for being able to look into her side yard and see something beautiful and other neighbors telling me my yard looks like a Hyatt Hotel! Needed massive silver maple removed. Lucas provided with us with an extremely competitive price. They followed through on everything they promised. Their crew was extremely skilled. It was an education just watching them safely take down the massive tree. They also were very careful to do it in a way that disturbed our property as little as possible. The job took them all day and it seemed as if they never stopped working. They must have been utterly exhausted by the end. Once the tree was down, the crew cleaned up very well. Early the next morning they returned to pick up the scores of logs left from the job. I also received a call from the owner asking if everything went ok. Lucas did three jobs right around the corner from my house. The men were professional and neat and as my neighbors all spoke so highly of Luke I gave him a shot. Cut down a huge tree and did major trimming to other trees over hanging the house at a rental property of mine and then came back to my house and cut down another tree and did some trimming as well.
