This dental office is amazing. I chipped my tooth really badly and called my dentist and found out. She moved an hour away without telling me. I searched for a Dentist found George Lim and they were able to fit me in the next day. They did x-rays and an exam and fixed my tooth all at the same time. Everyone was very kind and welcoming. This is my first visit at this location . I would still go again but things need to be improved . This is in regards to how the services are provided to patients and not the people themselves. Meaning the people that work there are nice and professional , leaving you feeling with clarity on the treatment you are receiving , but do not complete the services that they are doing in full and are not fulfilled to its capacity . For example , I went in for a examination and standard cleaning . The former procedure went well , but not the latter . I have had many standard cleanings over the years and I know what they contain - a scaling (cleaning) , polish (stain remover) and fluoride (protection) insertion onto your teeth . They only did the scaling . And even then it was not good . It was so short and quick . I know I needed more than that sine since it was three years since my last visit since I'm no longer covered due to insurance changes and I now have to pay out of pocket . What's even more bizarre is the reaction of the staff when asked. They did apologize for not applying the other procedures and were nice and humble about it , but the fact that I had to voluntarily ask is indeed strange . It should the other way around where they voluntarily provide these treatments. They should know this . They're supposed to be the professionals . If I didn't have no prior knowledge , i definitely would not have got my moneys worth . So to anyone coming here , bears of the procedures you are receiving for the cost . Other than that , it's alright here . 3 out of 5 stars . Average and neutral rating . PS - The main doctor/dentist George Lim seems alright . I liked his character . He seems to be very knowledgeable and how to go about things and seems honest enough and humble . The assistant who did my teeth , Albert, I loved. He's cute and gives off a nice vibe . I'd definitely would not mind his service again and would like to have him next time if I'm able . The receptionist, Michelle , was a joy to talk with . She answered all my questions . Thank you !! I contacted the office, spoke with Calvin , and told them that the cleaning job was poor as my teeth look the same . I don't see much difference . I still see tar build ups in the spots that are vaguely visible . So imagine the spots that aren't ? I was told a deep cleaning will take care of that-which I know is bull as I've had many standard cleanings in the past that still made a huge difference in visibility. When I mentioned this, then they had no problem following through with me. Which seems suspicious so everything still seems shady. A redo appointment has been scheduled in a couple weeks so I will be coming back and I want a actual doctor/dentist to clean my teeth and not an assistant to clean. I expect to see and feel a difference this time or I will have to file a complaint otherwise . I will follow with another update to tell how that goes .... read more

I'm not a fan of going to the dentist but I happen to be walking by Dr Lim's office just to see what the wait was after long wait times at other dentists' offices. Mych to my surprise , there was one other patient in there and they saw me right away. I had three friendly people working on me while Dr Lim was asking me about my dental history. I was shocked by the the comfortable environment and Dr. Lim's non-judgental attitude. I'm only receiving Medi-Cal presently, and was not used to being treated like a human being. The staff was warm and knowledgeable and I keep returning for consecutive visits in order to restart my dental regimen. Not one time have I experienced any pain even after undergoing multiple procedures in one day. I visited this location to have a crown re-cemented. I was taken right in at my appt time. The tech, Abner, was very personable and very kind. Best part of the visit! He explained everything that was happening and what was going to be done. (This man needs a raise!) The doctor came in for the exam. She was fast, efficient and kind. Dr. Lim's office was walking distance when I lived in Echo Park from 2003-2014. After moving I hadn't gone back until 2017 I was told I need a root canal after showing me a blurred X-ray. I was searching for information as I wasn't in any pain, things didn't add up. Long story short, I recently saw a different dentist and asked if he saw any reason that I needed a root canal. His reply, absolutely not. I also saw a review somewhere that a girl wrote about the same experience and she warned about the birthday calls. It's true like clockwork, I guess he wants to remind me to file a complaint. He received approval from medi-dental for $1000 and wanted me to pay $1000 for the crown. Makes me question the cavities he filled on the sides doing a poor job. I unfortunately trusted him. You have been warned, do not support this criminal. read more

Went in for a TEETH CLEANING (with an appointment) and waited about 2 hrs to see Dr. Lim. At which point he immediately tried to repeatedly sell my invisiline, I kept telling him I was not interested. He then pushed xrays on me (which makes more sense), we did the xrays. BUT HERE'S THE KICKER--after all that, someone finally came for the cleaning, but all they did was polish my teeth. Literally didnt scrape/floss/clean my teeth in anyway. So after all that I left with only polished teeth that they spent about 3 minutes doing. Wasted one of my annual teeth cleaning I am allotted from insurance. Dr. Lim, if you're reading this directly, your office staff has just cost you 2,000 from Denti-Cal, plus possibly opened an investigation into your office for charging Denti-Cal patients a $55 no-show fee, which was explained to your one lady in the "finance department" as illegal. I called into your office 10 minutes after 5pm, as I was scheduled at 5pm, letting you know in advance that I would be late. I called to schedule an appointment and the lady that handles your finances told me I had to pay 2 grand for a procedure that was approved in April, for which you called me personally during the COVID-19 pandemic to apologize for not being able to do the procedure during the crisis, which is the nicest thing a doctor has ever done. I called Denti-Cal twice in the same day, who called your office personally to speak with your finance department, with me on the other line. You're a good doctor with a kind heart and I respect everything you did for me, but you really need to get rid of your office staff. I see from some of the reviews here that say the same. read more

Don't go here! Let me start by saying the dental assistants and office staff are really nice. BUT the actual dental services and advice are terrible. They want your insurance money, and it's very clear. I went in for a cleaning, and the dental assistant literally took a polishing brush and went over my teeth for less than 5 minutes. When I told the office manager not to charge my insurance for a proper cleaning because that was clearly not a cleaning, she had me go back into the chair to have Dr. Lim do my cleaning. He did a haphazard job, spraying water all down my face, neck and into my top. I've never felt so in a rush to just get out of the hands of someone who clearly didn't care: I won't even go into the details of how they were pressuring me into quickly getting a root canal and crown on my front tooth- to which I got a second opinion and found out I didn't need a root canal. read more

I was very fortunate to find Dr. Lim's Dental Clinic. Friendly, helpful, engaging and highly skilled are the terms I use with confidence to give a summary description. Now for the details that I hope other patients may find useful: Over the course of 2 months I want to thank all of the staff that have been active in my treatment and continue to be. I would like to commend Dr. S. Lim, Dr. N. Wachokor, Dr. Balane, CDA Abner, on their skill, expertise, counsel and treatment (procedures including root canals, tooth extraction, fillings and crown work). In addition, I highly appreciate their clear communication and developing a treatment plan for me, calling me after treatments to follow up and see how I was doing (it is extremely rare to find Doctors with such attentiveness to a patient)! I felt that I was actively engaged in developing the best treatment plan for me given situation with regard to insurance and budget constraints, without foregoing any of the required treatment to restore my dental health. Furthermore, I must also Mention Susie, the office manager who has been so friendly and patient with me in explaining my treatment options, working with the insurance company to make sure that I receive approval and the best coverage for my treatments. She is certainly has gone above and beyond my expectations ( friendly, checks up on how my treatments are going and follows up with the insurance and me) - simply superb. Further members of the clinic I would like to mention and thank are both Marisela and Yvonne who organized my appointments and called me or referred my questions to the doctor(s), got back to me with answers quickly. Another great thing about Dr. Lim's Clinic is that they have multiple locations and were even able to treat me at another office location for an emergency! I found this business in 2016, when I'd chipped a tooth and needed an emergency fix the day of. They were able to take me in, and did a fantastic job for $350, which is decent for a small chip at the corner of my front incisor. I've been returning every 6 months for routine cleanings. I recently started going to this dentist since it is not too far from where I live. The people here are all friendly and generous, and the waiting time does not take long. Especially if you have an appointment, they don't make you wait an additional time unlike other dentists that I've been to. The staff has an excellent way of explaining your procedures, the cost of how much it will be, and any other things that you'll need for your teeth, such as a mouth guard. They also discuss with their clients about payment methods as well. Another thing that I like about the staff is that they send you a text AND give you call as a reminder BEFORE your appointment date. The office space itself is very clean. They have plenty of magazines in the waiting room to read, and if you have a child they also have a room where kids can play in. Which I find good of use for kids because it's a perfect way to distract the child and ease them down from the thought of being at the dentist. They also have restrooms, which are also very clean! Dr. George is a very enthusiastic person and has good sense of humor. I feel like he adds in some jokes before doing any procedures to ease off any nervousness or anxiousness that a person may have. He has a great personality, and is very professional with his work. Then you have Dr. Allen who is a very calm person with a good sense of humor as well. He likes to make sure his clients are well and comfortable, and always talks to you about what will happen during the procedure before he does his work. Both doctors are gentle while being professional with what they do. Also, I was reading the comments that other people left on here and I don't understand how this place "is a scam" or "only want your money." They discuss everything with you, and if you can't fully afford it they provide you with a payment plan. Now, if you don't want to agree with the total price of how much you'll be paying, then you can always say no and the staff will be very understandable. Though, this dentist is very affordable comparing to other dentists that I've been to. Overall, I would recommend people to come here. It's affordable in price, staff do a great job at what they do, dental staff are professional with their work, and everyone's super friendly here. Though, I might add that the only down fall is parking BUT you can always find street parking. Just make sure to head out earl before your appointment to find parking on time! Initially, beginning in April 2018, I had a good experience with Dr. Lim's office. They took care of a lot of issues I had after not having been to the dentist in a while. I went in for a 6 month general cleaning in Novemeber and that was normal. They recommended extracting my bottom front two teeth. Since my insurance wouldn't cover implants, I declined as I didnt want to walk out of there without those teeth and couldn't afford to pay for implants or a bridge out of pocket. Cut to last week: I get a call saying I had an appointment scheduled for Friday, Feb. 15th. I didn't. I asked them what it was for. They said a deep cleaning. I asked if my insurance would cover it. They said yes. I went to the appointment. It was a ruse. They brought me in to try to extract teeth and money. They showed me everything they wanted to do and the total was going to be around $17,000 for basically, three implants. I have no doubt they went through the xrays of their patients and found the ones like me who would need work done that they could make money off of. I've never felt more strong armed in my life. I will be contacting my insurance and getting a new dentist. The only reason this isn't one star is because of the initial good work they did. read more

I got 1 root canal and 2 crowns done by Dr. Lim. One in 2011 and one in 2012. both of the crowns are not satisfactory. The first crown moved within a few days of putting it on so there was a gap where food always gets stuck between the teeth and so it was (and still is) constantly infected and he refused to redo it after he already redid it twice because he clearly couldn't seem to get it right and that's somehow my fault... I should have gotten a lawyer involved right away. I had already paid 1000$ for the crown and I was told to that REDO it would be $650 just a few days later. CLASSY Then that same crown actually chipped a few weeks later so he agreed to redo it but it's still getting food stuck in the gap between the crown and next tooth. Clearly he is not able to get it right even after the 3rd try. and how much pain I had to go through for nothing. Now the OTHER crown has also chipped and broken and so I went into the office today. Well I got a big NO from the front office when I went in because it's from 2011/12. I asked my other dentist who I now go to and they said industry standard is 5 yrs to redo a crown if it breaks. it's been 3-4 years. 3000$ for 1 root canal and 2 crowns should last longer than 3-4 years. Both my crowns and my root canal (which is now infected) will need to be redone. $3000 down the drain. I will be lawyering up after their response of simply turning me away today. *ALSO I took out a Care Credit account here to make payments on the $3000 and was a victim of fraud due to opening that account. There was a second mystery care credit account opened in my name after the real one I opened. The second one had someone charging 700$ to an animal hospital in Rowland Height CA. An inside job of some kind either at this office or the Rowland heights office because there is no record at the animal hospital of the charges ever being made. Finally my credit is cleared up. read more

This office uses technology that I haven't seen at many other offices. Everything is computerized so it is easy for them to look back at your records and such as x-rays. The office is cozy and all the staff are very friendly! Dr. Lim is a great doctor and he definitely knows what he is doing and also assistant Jonathan. There is no parking lot so, need to park at the street but there was a lot of parking spaces on street. read more

Dr Lim is the best I was scared my whole life ro get my wisdom teeth out because they were so impacted. The friendly staff is so wonderful at this office I felt right at home and got all my wisdom teeth out. Uppers and lowers. I am so relieved it was so fast I never realized they were gone. My daughter and I get treatment here because the service cannot compare to any other dental clinic we've been to. I would definitely recommend it to whoever needs a dental service.
