They have top of the line upholstery fabric ( not the stuff you get in downtown L.A. ). They sell their fabric to 5 Star Hotels and they also have lots of remnants for a great deal! I found a remnant and you would never know what a great deal I got. This is high end fabric for a fraction what it is worth!!! They have the most incredible remnants! Darrin provides exceptional service. He was great at providing photographs of options. I then found a fabric locally that I liked, but received terrible service and limited shipping options. We looked for upholstery fabric in many stores downtown, but just couldn't find the right color and texture we were looking for. We had a small swatch from an upholsterer but we were not going to use them to do the work. I noticed the swatch had a tag for George M Fabric so I looked it up and we drove straight to Torrance that afternoon to get 40 yards of Venue/Cumin. I was hesitant on going with such a bold color but it turned our couch into such a statement piece instead of going with an ivory color. I own a mid century furniture shop and this is my #1 "go to" secret spot for high quality great looking Upholstery. I've been a customer for over 5 years. Great staff with 2 latest additions (golden retriever puppies). I generally purchase fabric that has a vintage look which I always had trouble finding before I discovered George M ( which by the way is a father / son owned business ) . I had a great experience at this place! Dean (the owner) was very friendly and also helpful in my pursuit of the perfect fabric to re-cover my dining chairs. Even though I was a small time customer (compared to industry clients), Dean gave me his time and attention, and treated me like I was a VIP! The showroom was immaculate, with tidy, organized samples of their large inventory. I find it much better to shop this way than to have to sort through numerous rolls and shelves of fabric. The Torrance location is easily accessible, and parking is easy and free. For anyone needing upholstery fabric, I highly recommend George M. (aka Fabric Maven). Their large inventory of high quality textiles, great prices, and excellent customer service are unbeatable! read more

What a perfect experience! I went needing just one hide, and this is my first leather project, so I really didn't know what I needed too well. But Darrin, one of the owners, was so helpful and patient, let me take my time in their show room and answered all of my questions. The leather seems like its of great quality, and I think my project (which is also my senior project, so you know I care about it a lot!) is going to be great because of it. I can't recommend higher after my experience there, and any leather/fabric needs I have in the future will be headed their direction. read more

I found this wonderful company online when I was searching for mid-century modern upholstery fabric for MCM pieces that we are furnishing into our newest project that we are building in the Black Hills of South Dakota. When I first called, Darren was the person who helped me. He was wonderful and put a lot of time into making sure that I had pictures of the different fabrics that I was interested in. Since that time I have received two orders of beautiful fabric and have ordered a third and everyone that I have spoken to at the company has been extremely helpful and efficient. Very nice people with excellent warm services. Their fabric is great quality at good price and they even gave me an extra yard at no additional cost. The friendly owner (Dean) honestly suggested that 3 yards should be enough for my 6 chairs while in other stores I was told that I needed 6 yards. it's the best fabric shopping experience I've ever had. read more

What a great find! It was definitely my lucky day when I found Fabric Maven aka George M. Fabric Co. All staff members were very pleasant and helpful. The Owner (Dean) was exceptional. Ariel at PRAXIS (custom reupholstering and framing in Burbank) referred me to George M Fabric Company. They have a marvelous selection of fabrics and leather at reasonable prices. Established in 1975.

We are a third generation family owned upholstery fabric wholesale outlet. Our business started with George and Lillian Meyerson. It has been passed on to their sons Dean and Michael. Michael recently semi-retired and is just calling on his loyal customers. Dean and his son Darrin now are the proud owners of George M. Fabric Co. / Fabricmaven.com. After 38 years in downtown Los Angeles we moved into a centrally located new building where the 405 meets the 110 freeways in Torrance CA.

Meet the Manager: Ana G.

Ana is the foundation of an excellent loyal employee. She has been working for George M. for 20 years. She is married to a purple medal US army Sargent. They have three beautiful daughters ages 10, 6, and 4.

So here we are again to find more distinctive Hawaiian designs. Today, only "Baba" ("father" in Farsi) was in attendance at the shop, the last time we were here (if I'm not mistaken) was probably before the pandemic. Back then, there were a few ladies working here and were all Pacific Islanders. Baba was friendly & personable. The selection is fairly massive, wall to wall, 2 aisles worth and some on the back wall that were plain (I did not check that back wall!). Pricing? Definitely sky rocketed, just like everything else. It's about $10/yard (the material that's thicker). Hubby needs 3 yards per shirt (XXL Tall). It's a pretty penny, plus the price for custom tailor, that's another discussion lol. Given the price tag, perhaps we will explore other fabric stores (next time) that will accommodate our needs. Plus, when we purchased from the ladies that were here before, they gave us a discount for the amount we paid for the fabrics. Little perks go a long way. I would highly recommend using George M Fabric Co. for anyone who may have need for some terrific materials and enjoys dealing with some great pros in this business. Dean and Darrin are helpful, have a great inventory of textiles to select from, and will give you a very fair price. We purchased fabric to reupholster several chairs and couches, and Dean not only got me the perfect fabric, but he also put us in contact with an XLNT local upholstery company who was great to work with. Geoge M Fabric Co is top end fabric warehouse with a huge selection of top line material. The customer service was incredible from top to bottom. Darren (owner) was fantastic and Anna (office manager) was also incredibly helpful. Highly recommended. read more
