My mom recently had SAWS tell here that there was a leak at her property. After several people, Shawn of George Plumbing found it and fixed it. The problem that still existed was this old house had a service line that had very high pressure. He gave us an estimate on what it would cost to fix it. Well, I called them back to install a Pressure Regulator Valve along with a manual shutoff and bladder for the water heater. Now, hopefully there will be no more leaks. They cleared the drain waste pipes they showed me the problem with their video camera. They determined the city pipes were the problem. Waste backed up into my home because the city pipes had a belly. I complained to the city and they sent out a team to look. I'm sure nothing will come of it but now they are aware of the problem. The day before, a Lowes dishwasher installer came to install a new dishwasher but couldn't due to cabinet opening restrictions. Unbeknownst to me, the installer had turned off my hot water supply under the sink. So Nathan, the George plumber came out to fix my faucet. He quickly solved the problem. Apparently 2024-2025 has decided to be my era of plumbing problems. After a terrible experience with another company I started using George Plumbing. They have fixed a hall bathroom sink, an upstairs tub gasket, connected a gas grill to my main gas line, fixed a leaking washing machine line, replaced a water heater, and now Tyler and Nathan fixed some kind of crazy rat chewed kitchen sink line. Every time they have been prompt, or called me to tell me if there is a delay and offered to reschedule. They go through the options and pricing so there are no surprises. What I like is they are very good at troubleshooting. The issues I have had were not always straightforward (especially the 1970's bathtub) and they used different methods to determine a fix. All of the work is warrantied for two years, which is much better than the six months to a year most other places offer. They keep a lot of the supplies on the truck which is awesome because they aren't leaving back and forth to the plumbing supply. This company was referred to me by another company because they were suppose to knew how to install a shower tower, called to get a estimate they refused stating that a person needed to come out and a fee of $95 was required just to get him out here. I set up the appointment. The gentleman was very nice but wasnt sure how to price it and contacted the office, based on the company's new pricing structure they wanted to charge me almost $1400. that's about $600 per hour. I reached out to the office and they explained that's there pricing, therefore I declined and explained that I should have been giving a idea of the cost when I first called and i would never have setup the appoinment. George Plumbing Company gave a reasonable estimate, but it took significantly longer (6 hours versus 2 hours) than anticipated because the previous water heater installation had been botched. Dan is obviously very observant and detail-oriented. He may be a perfectionist. My wife thinks that they left the laundry room cleaner than when they began the job. Because we had a good experience with Shaun some years ago, I contacted George Plumbing this week to clear our plugged, kitchen sink drain. Same day appointment was scheduled for the afternoon. (Upon scheduling the appointment, they stressed that their "new" way of doing business would be to diagnose the situation and provide alternatives to fix the problem; in this case the clogged drain!) Dan and Austin showed up as promised to diagnose the situation and provide alternatives. The drain was stopped up and needed to be "snaked," but first they needed an alternate solution to comply with their "new" way of doing business. At this point they needed to look outside the house to determine if there could be an issue with the exterior drain line. Seemingly, the outside line could have issues affecting drainage so now they provided their altetnatives. They could dig up and replace 5 or 6 feet of exterior pipe at an estimated cost of over $1,000 or create a temporary bypass for $360. No consideration was given to using the snake as a primary solution. That being said, without thinking, I chose the temporary fix and they cut the existing line and created a bypass from the exposed exterior pipe to the cleanout, only to discover the drain was still plugged! Now, after the failed alternative fix and a 3 inch chip out of our front door threshold, caused by dragging the snake machine through the door, they used the snake to successfully open our drain. $360 down the drain! Next time I'll call Roto Rooter! read more
