It's not ice but a kind of liquid that makes the inside box cool. One pack doesn't really help. We paired almost 100 dollar for shipping and one or two more packs are expected. I placed an order several days in advance, to receive crab for Christmas Eve dinner (in NC). I noticed that nothing happened on the shipment tracker except "a label has been created." A rep let me know in the afternoon of Christmas Eve, when it was too late to make any decent alternate plans, that "the colder weather" had impacted the catch and I would receive nothing. The unacceptable part of this is not that the fishermen could not meet their quotas, but that they could not get a message out in time for a customer to make other plans. My immediate reaction was that I had been robbed. $700 for what seemed like a small box of "Jumbo" claws was "unfair." Very pungent!! Tasted the large claws and they seemed to be OK, not really sweet, just OK. Seemed old tasting, not fresh. Needless to say I'm less than satisfied at this point.
