George Thomas has a wonderful selection and I've bought from here before. I do my best to support local businesses and when I find one that I like, I make sure and introduce others to it. That's the reason I stopped by recently. I wanted a friend to see the selection and since she is new to Irvington, I was hoping she would return to George Thomas again and again. Sadly, based on the attitude of the young clerk who waited on us, I'm certain that my friend won't be coming back. I'm hopeful this was just a fluke, but the way we were treated and her overall demeanor made it clear that she didn't really want to be there and couldn't have cared less if we bought anything or not. read more

Okay. This Irvington floral shop is a TRUE gem! Customer service is always top tier and personable to your visit and "why" behind purchasing flowers. Saturdays have become my fav. They have $1 stems and discounted flowers. They hand pick a bouquet for you based on your budget and vibe/occasion given. They do like a "happy hour" throughout the week. But go visit because I don't remember the times and don't want to give false information. Pictures are of 3 different bouquets. One was for more flowers to freshen up my home for turkey day. The burnt orange was a "thank you" bouquet to a friend for the fall. And the last bouquet was more of a jug because for home. Go support a local floral shop. read more

I saw an add for a floral design class in Irvington. I had never done something like this. It was a multipoo puppy in a basket made out of carnations. With various flowers in the basket for fill. Too cute. At the time I signed up I actually had a dog that looked just like the sample. To avoid further grief we bought a black multipoo. I mentioned this before starting my design and Melanie insisted on painting the carnations black. So fun. We were treated like valued customers or old friend's as each person was given instruction as needed They had a wall of different flowers. All kinds and colors. We were invited to help ourselves Little eyes, noses and tongues were available plus your choice of bows Afterward a table was set. Cookies like dog bones for humans as well as many other treats It was so nicely done. Table cloth flowers tons of food. Both Melanie and Shelley were outstanding, welcoming instructors. I don't remember how much the class was but I feel I got more than my moneys worth and had a fun time! I am attaching pictures but I don't think they do justice. Our consult with Melissa and extensive, detailed and very helpful in figuring out our vision for our wedding day. We mostly gave her a color palette, our budget and a loose idea of what we wanted and gave most creative control over to Mel and she delivered tenfold! Every single piece of greenery or floral for the day was stunning, well-designed and artfully placed. My dad passed away several months prior to the wedding day and I had reached out to order an additional boutonnière to pin on his suit jacket that we were hanging on his chair in memorial, and she also arranged several florals on his chair as well that matched my bouquet. The price was very reasonable and affordable for the quality and quantity of florals that we received, along with her artistry in designing them. I ordered two dozen carnations individually wrapped, so I can give them out randomly to mothers for Mother's Day since mine is no longer on this earth. I hate to leave a negative review, because this florist does create beautiful floral displays. In fact, I would even recommend them if looking for a local florist, but I have to give a negative review because they don't ask a simple question that would save hundreds of lives - "Pet friendly?" My husband picked up an arrangement from the florist to use at our Pandemic style at-home wedding ceremony. The bouquet was gorgeous, big, and perfect looking for what we asked. However, the issue was that they included Asiatic lilies in the display without providing any warning about the danger they pose to cats. Yes, of course it was our responsibility as owners to keep our cat safe, but it is not widely known that Lilys are DEADLY to felines and you would think the florist could simply ask just in case to avoid the death of our beloved pets. We paid $120 for a pretty bouquet that put both of our cats in the ER with a bill over $3000 dollars. We think they will pull through, but one is in kidney failure and our hearts are broken. Again, beautiful displays, but do not expect them to warn you about potential dangers of these plants. If they added one simple question to their design process, lives could be saved. When we called to find out the kind of Lily for our vet, they didn't even offer an apology or sympathy, which was very cold. I have to wonder how often this has happened. So, try them but know that YOU must do extensive plant research prior if you have pets to ensure that a death trap isn't hidden in the arrangement. read more

Not only was the lady a smart mouth but she then popped off at me and said what would you like for me to do. I have no pity on florists when it comes to Valentine's Day because it comes on the same day each year. They want to go cheap and not hire enough help to get the deliveries done in a timely manner. I chose this florist because I remember receiving prom corsages from them decades ago. I wanted to send flowers to a special group of people to thank them for helping me achieve my dream of home ownership in Waikiki. All went well except that 1) they never asked for my email address to send me my receipt and 2) when I asked them to send me a photo of the arrangement, they said it would be an extra charge of $3.99!!! I just spent $100 on flowers and you wouldn't include the photo as part of the service?! I didn't ask for it to be printed, framed and mailed! Were you ashamed of your craft? Do you call this customer service? It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words. It takes a few seconds to care for your customer AND use the photo to promote your business! All other florists I have worked with do this as a professional courtesy. I share this review in the hope that you'll rethink your policies. How dare you nickel and dime me and other (potential) customers! You can't buy this kind of negative publicity. What a shame. I liked the fixed price options where they craft based on flowers in stock and season. I called a requested 24 hour delivery which was doable. I selected the $100 bouquet with added delivery charge and tax. This was one of their mid-priced options, so I was expecting a nice bouquet. The clerk was friendly and my total came to $120. It was nice to be able to order over the phone. The flowers arrived on time and were fresh and colorful with Gerber daisies and carnations. I wish the arrangement was larger and I would have paid more if I had known the size. I probably should have asked when I placed my order so I knew better what to expect. Very disappointed in the arrangement I ordered. I spent extra money to upgrade the arrangement and what was sent wasn't even close to the picture on the website. I wish I could post a picture of what I thought I ordered and what was sent so you could see the difference. I love supporting local businesses and I also understand that they need to substitute sometimes but when I count the number of flowers in the picture online and then in the arrangement itself, what I paid for falls very short of what I thought I was purchasing. My company just moved to the Irvington area. My darling husband has also finally decided I'm worthy of getting flowers regularly, so it's a win-win. Also, co-workers are SUPER jelly! I am out of state and had them delivered to someone in Indy, and their website is easy and intuitive to use.
