I went to the shop because I was afraid of getting mixed up with a 1-800 never deliver on time business fronting as Gillespie. The shop was super cute. They had so much to browse while waiting in line. However, I didn't have to wait long. Staff appeared from the back as soon as customers began to form a line. The woman who helped me was very informative and did a great job. I picked a beautiful arrangement and a stone for a funeral. I received a text prior to delivery showing me the products which were just as described. The arrangement and stone were both larger and even nicer when I saw them in person. They have created Wedding, Funeral, Birthday, Mother's Day, Administrative Assistant Day and Get Well bouquets over the years. They are always beautiful and what I have requested. The staff is friendly, helpful and works closely with you. They have even taken me back to the floral cooler to look at flowers on hand to determine what I liked. Don't waste your time buying flowers from Kroger, Walmart, etc stop into Gillespie. They have the cutest little charms and pieces sold in store along with tons of flowers to choose from! I even saw a nice selection of succulents and cactus's. There is a huge cooler in the back where you can design and pick flowers for your own arrangement. I've never seen any other place do that before. If you aren't too great at putting them together yourself you can buy pre bundled flowers from the cooler upfront or ask an associate to put something together for you. I would say prices are pretty similar to most florist, but the have very affordable bouquets already put together in the front around $3-$4, along with tulips for $10, and I believe roses were $19. Jennifer was working when I stopped in today, she was so kind to offer to make something! She simply asked a price and colors. Lastly, I wanted to mention that every time I've gotten flowers from here they have lasted much longer than any other place. Will definitely be returning in the future. read more

My boyfriend lives in New York and he surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers for our anniversary. The flowers were delivered to my front door by a lovely gentleman with a smile on his face. It was rainy outside and he stood in the rain with grace. I could tell this arrangement was put together with care and with the best flowers. These people are amazing. I have always ordered flowers for family back in Indiana just through FTD. For whatever reason, they were coming up as "out of stock" for everything in westside zip codes. So I found Gillespie through google and placed two orders. OMG what a great experience! I forgot to fill out a card for my first order. I went back later and put in a second order. Lovely lady CALLED ME to see if I wanted to add a note to the first order! How many stores would have taken the trouble? Later in the day, another lovely person call ed to let me know that they were out of the chocolates I included and she was putting in two boxes of an alternate! Best florist I've ever shopped at by far. I've been to many during time living in OH, MI, MA, PA, MD and now IN. This one is the best. They offer a large indoor gift shop where things aren't priced at 3 times what they should cost, plus there's alarge room staging area for bouquets that was hopping with activity, and then there is this big 500 sq ft walk in cooler room where you can pick your own flowers. I had received at least one arrangement from Gillespie in the past. Since I'd had experience with them before and they are local to the west side, I decided to take a look at their website Friday evening. I had just learned that a friend had died and wanted to have something sent over to the funeral home by Monday morning. Gillespie's website was more appealing and easier to use than some of the others I glanced at. I also noticed that they were still open while all the others had already closed for the night. I called to ask some questions and ended up placing my order over the phone. When I had first called, a nice lady was transferring me to someone and the call was disconnected. I called back and spoke to Jennifer. She answered my questions about sizes and prices for the upgrades available for two particular planter arrangements I was interested in. She took down all the necessary information, gave me the total, and told me I would receive a photo by text on Sunday (today) and that my arrangement would be delivered Monday (tomorrow.) Jennifer was kind and it was a pleasant experience. I had nearly forgotten all about the photo until I turned on my phone today and saw it in a new text message. The arrangement was so pretty that I couldn't stop looking at it. I love that they do this for their customers. It is especially nice when you are not certain that you will see the arrangement in person. Now I know exactly what my friend's family will be receiving and I have a picture to keep. The total cost was a bit more than I was wanting to spend, but I had not factored in the $9.99 delivery fee. These days it seems everything is going up considerably in price, so taking that into account, the cost was reasonable. I don't often order flowers anymore, so I am sure I am a bit out of tune on the going rate. I am especially alright with the price after seeing the arrangement in the photo I received. I love some of the extras Gillespie offers, such as the small ceramic cherub I chose for my arrangement. I know firsthand that it is something the recipient can keep for years to come, as I received one myself in a sympathy arrangement a few years ago. Long after the demise of my planter, I still have the cherub sitting in another houseplant. I see it daily and always have that little reminder of the person who sent it to me. I would certainly use Gillespie again in the future. The picture courtesy alone really makes them stand out when compared to other florists. If I could afford to do it, I would send flowers all the time. Just looking at their website made me feel cheery and had me imagining who all I could send arrangements. I just love the idea of sending (and receiving!) flowers and plants. read more

They sent me an order confirmation email with photos of the actual gift I ordered. I've never received such high touch customer service from an online order... I'm impressed! The flowers are beautiful, and I am also impressed with the bouquet quality, given that we are in the midst of a pandemic. Disappointed and sad. I had high hopes when I spoke with the friendly staff and visited their shop to place the order for a boutonnière and a wrist corsage. I was told that I would be sent a picture of the finished flowers which I wasn't until I called the afternoon that I needed them and asked if they were ready. When the picture was sent, it didn't represent at all what I had requested which was fun and colorful. In fact the roses were browning and looked as if it had been put together with leftovers. (See photo below.) I asked that the browning light yellow roses be changed out for something more colorful. They did make that change quickly but left the other brown edged roses. This was a small order but it was important to me and I wish that we hadn't ordered from Gillespie Florist. read more

I was extremely please with the order I placed. I found the price to be comparable to other florists and the staff was very helpful. I asked for specific instructions to be done on the card and gave them a color. I am no botanist by any stretch of the imagination and they were very understanding. When I told her the color I wanted she started naming off all these flowers and I had no clue what most of them were. I said please forgive me I don't want to waste your time. I don't know what those are. The lady said how about you give me a price range and we will put something together and text you a picture of the flowers when done. I have never had a florist offer to do that. It was a wonderful touch. I received the picture and approved. They did an awesome job with it. They also, showed up to deliver them to a very wonderful lady exactly on time. Today, I called them for an arrangement to be created for my mother who's dog is ill - and I asked when they could be delivered and around what time. I'm not sure why Rachel was extremely cold and unemotional to my request (even though I explained right off the bat that we are going through hard times and I wanted to lighten my mother's day up... so Rachel was aware of the reasons for me calling) ... and at first I allowed her annoyed energy to blow over... Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. I send, at minimum, 10 floral bouquets across the country, every year. This particular bouquet was for someone that I was hiring to be on my team; she and her family are going to move from Indy to Phoenix. I wanted to send something to her to recognize that effort and appreciate her. I don't live in Indy, so I relied on google to give me some options: I landed on Gillespie. I plucked this funky design out of the pictures because I thought "hey, the middle of winter in Indy, this cool design would be nice to receive; I know it won't look like this". WRONG!!! No less than 3 hours after placing my order (to be delivered the next day) I received an email from Gillespie's SHOWING ME AN ACTUAL PICTURE OF WHAT THEY DESIGNED AND WOULD DELIVER THE NEXT DAY. I'm stunned. Properly shocked. I've never been treated this amazing by a florist...it's such a crap shoot between what you order online versus what shows up.
