I have to stop in every time I'm wandering through the Stutz Building. The moment you walk through the doors you're greeted by the coziest scent--I can't even describe it beyond that. It immediately makes me want to slow down, grab a coffee, and wander the shop for a while. Grounded has an incredible selection of healthy plants, unique pots, candles, home décor, and gifts, but it never feels overwhelming. The space is bright, beautifully styled, and somehow calming at the same time. Even if I'm not shopping for anything specific, I always end up finding something I didn't know I needed. The staff has consistently been warm, approachable, and incredibly knowledgeable. Whether you're a seasoned plant parent or wondering if you can keep a cactus alive (no judgment ), they're happy to answer questions and help you find the right fit. The most beautiful and well cared for plants in the city. If you have a question regarding anything plant related, they have the answer. So helpful, and not snooty at all. If you're looking for a big showpiece plant, this is the place for you. The huge plants are priced more than fairly if comparing them to other plant shops. Updating my review to reflect their newer location at the Stutz Building - TLDR: it's stunning! Also, how can you beat a plant shop that neighbors a coffee shop, bakery, taqueria, etc.? Clearly, in the best of company. The new space is filled with natural light, large windows, a stylish warehouse feel and fabulous plants, gifts, seasonal decor, etc. This is a great spot to drop by for pots, plant tips, stationery cards and general peace. Parking can be found along the street (metered) or in the lot across the street. All of the staff I have encountered are both warm and inviting - pretty sure my heart rate slows down when I enter this space (in a good way). read more

Anybody that knows me knows that I am a sucker for plants! They are like family members for me lol and they bring so much peace to my life. My Boo and I walked in and the environment was super nice and the plants were beautiful. we purchased three plants And the service was nice. They were very helpful! I am not sure about the value of the one of the plants we got as it appears to be dying already we purchased a tree, and we are hoping that it will come back to life as the weather warms up. Have you ever gone to a business where you just instantly felt comfortable? That was my experience with Grounded Plant & Floral Company, a plant and floral shop (I bet you could figure that out on your own) located inside the Stutz building's newly established retail and culinary courtyards. I first visited Grounded during a recent Yelp event, however, I knew I would return quickly - partly because I spied some things I wanted and partly because, to be honest, I just wanted to leave them a review (NOTE: Yelp event guidelines request that you not review a business based upon an "event" since an event is not an actual business experience. It makes sense and I abide by it). However, with two visits under my belt I now feel comfortable adding my review. First off, this is located easily off the northernmost courtyard at the Stutz. There's a street-side entrance that is not wheelchair friendly, however, going in off of the courtyard it's perfectly friendly (this is true quite a bit at the Stutz). My first visit was directly when they opened on a weekend. I always kind of feel for employees when there's someone waiting right when they open, however, I was greeted in a friendly manner and welcomed right in. There were two young women working and both were friendly and knowledgeable. They were also very helpful. I was impressed with just how expansive this place was and how wheelchair friendly it is throughout. There's a strong diversity vibe here - and I wasn't surprised it included disability. I felt "welcome" here. I bought a plant and I also got some incense. The prices vary quite a bit. You can easily spend a lot here, though it's also possible to just pick up a small plant or other item. The smell here is amazing. The vibe is awesome. They carry plants and floral items, of course, but there's also candles, supplies, some home interior items, and much more. I was able to get my wheelchair everywhere I wanted to go, though it does get a bit tight if there's another person in the aisle. However, everyone I encountered here was friendly and made sure I could get through. When I had questions about the plant, they answered them and even made sure to write down the name of the plant and some light directions for care. As someone getting ready to have a fairly serious cancer surgery, I've been trying to add some more "life" to my home - Grounded really helped. You honestly can enjoy yourself at the Stutz by adding some other stops while here - Grounded plus Amelia's (or Barista Parlor) plus the car museum plus other places - you'll have a blast. I'm super big on customer service. It possibly matters more to me than the products themselves. Here, I got great customer service AND great products. I'm thrilled to discover Grounded and I will definitely be back. read more

Unfortunately, There wasn't one in stock, but I left with my car full and as a satisfied customer as they cheered me on after the purchase of my very large new Philodendron. My 251st review and it's not a review about food. Can you believe it? That's right. I'm broadening my horizons. There is a plethora of local small businesses in Indiana. So I've been exploring the area and supporting them whenever I can. Lately, I've been filling my home with greenery. I'm on the hunt for happy houseplants. Here at Grounded Plant + Floral Company there are so many varieties. 5 stars - Layout. The houseplants are plentiful in the store, but it doesn't feel busy or overwhelming. My favorite section is their houseplants in the back. I also like checking out the succulents lined up along their front window. I bought a jade plant on my last visit and it's still growing strong after a month. 5 stars - Houseplants and plant pots. In the two times I've visited, there's always someone looking after the plants. Either misting, rotating them, or watering them. It's super cool to see this type of attention. That's why the plants are so healthy. 5 stars - Organic soil. Finally, quality soil. You know you can tell it's good when the soil smells natural when you open the bag. No funky scent. Also, I've used the soil to pot plants and no bugs creep outta them days later. No hidden gnats or insect eggs. Whew. I know what you're thinking, if you have houseplants, you gotta be okay with nature's bugs too. Well yeah...okay, okay. But, gnats?!? A local plant heaven!! Parking was easily available along the street right by the door. I was greeted as soon as I entered and knew I'd be wondering around for quite some time and for sure leaving with a unique new plant. Big, little, full Sun, no sun, pink, polka dot - you name it and they had that variety of house plant. The smaller plants are great priced. Majority are $9-$18. The larger plants run around $70+. They're all in such healthy condition. Not only are there plants EVERYWHERE, but there's essentials to care for them, cute cards and prints, coffee table plant books, pots, skin care... it's basically a nursery + gift shop. The man at the counter was knowledgeable about caring for the plants I bought and super friendly. Grounded is a lovely little plant shop! I give them five stars just for existing. They have a solid brand and the inside aesthetic is a perfect fit for them. There were plants everywhere inside--as there should be--as well as fun, natural and boho-vibe hangers and cool planters. I came in to use a gift card. It was hard to pick which plants to bring home! But I ended up finding a beautiful purple one that caught my eye. It was $15. The other plant I bought was $8 (a lot of plants were at this price point) and will look so good on my bookshelf. I will note the prices were a bit higher than at some of the other plant shops I go to. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The shop has marked spots on the floor to help you social distance, requires masks, and only 6 people are currently allowed in the shop at a time. There was a shield around the cash wrap and the staff were wearing masks. It felt very safe, and I'd have no qualms about coming back during the pandemic. Parking out front was super easy. I came on a Friday afternoon and there were several spots right out front. I'm sure I'll come back to Grounded in the future. It's just a beautiful space for a plant lover. A few weeks back my boss had recommended that I go to Grounded Plant + Floral since I was in need of a birthday gift for a friend. She is a minimalist so she thought that a plant would be something she could enjoy. Since I had never been here prior, I used google maps and the route ended up taking me down the most beautiful street right down the block from the shop. I never knew that Grounded was just beyond 'The Garage' Downtown which only made me now, want to show all my friends the shop! Right when I walked into the store I was amazed at the amount of plants, pots, and other cute gift ideas. I was immediately able to be helped by Z who was able to point me in the direction of lower maintenance plants. Z was able to explain to me the difference between the different types and share how they differed which I really appreciated, since I do not know much about plants. After selecting a plant, I wondered the rest of the store seeing candles, journals, bath soaps and scrubs, teas and so much more. I ended up picking out a cute little candle as well to go along with the plant. I was really surprised as how well moderately priced everything was. I wasn't sure what to except when I stopped in to look around. What I found was a cute little laid back shop with a variety of things. They have a lot of different types of plant especially if you are looking for something specific. All different types of pots. A few soil options. They even have candles, incense and crystals oh and can't forget super cute stickers. Some items are a bit pricey but overall not too bad. I would stop back in if I was in the area. When I was in the girl at the counter never acknowledged me and was on her phone the entire time. I also think the plants and especially the pots are WAY overpriced. Grounded made our wedding magical! They used to do solely weddings and recently opened up a shop last year, across the street from Arsenal Tech. First thing you need to know: the shop is GORGEOUS. It's inspiring and you'll want to buy tons of gorgeous leafy greens and succulents to spice up your home decor. Bonus: they also just expanded the shop. Back to the wedding. We met with Amanda, the owner of Grounded, to discuss what type of flowers we wanted. As someone who knows little about flower types, Amanda was helpful and I trusted her to get the overall aesthetic right (just look at her Yelp photos - her natural design aesthetic is amazing). She sent over a Pinterest board of examples she collected and quotes for how much each would cost. She nailed it on the actual day. I never saw her because by the time I arrived, everything was set up and ~magical-looking~. Everything was how we planned and she did an amazing job on making a floral arch for our ceremony. Update: I took down one star because after the latest time I went I bought a birds nest fern & a coffee plant. I left my apartment for 3 days and came back to a badly wilting coffee plant. After some quick googling I realized that the directions that Grounded gave for the plant were bad and that the plant needed to be watered more often. I wish I could live here, surrounded by foliage and plants and beautiful, living things. It is a tiny shop, but it's wonderful and well curated. Speaking of living things: There is a doggie at this shop, and he is the friendliest Boxer in all of Indianapolis. I didn't catch his name, but he kept doing that doggie thing where he put his snout in my hand and nudged it so that I pet his head. Plant shopping is so much more fun with dogs, I've learned. The woman who owns Grounded is very knowledgeable about plants and is very willing to answer questions. You can tell she really loves what she's doing. I came in looking for a plant that was easy to care for, similar to a pothos, and she pointed me in the right direction toward a ZZ plant, which is something I never would have thought of myself but is a perfect addition to my home. I love my little plant friend! I also picked up a beautiful pot for my plant. There are a lot to choose from, some hand-painted ceramic, some glazed pottery. I couldn't get over how many live plants, all tastefully hanging or arranged, there were. And they also had displays of stationery, artisan products, and an area that had macrame that could be used for supporting your purchases. I love this local plant shop downtown! It's easy to get to by car & they have their own parking lot but there's also street parking available. Even though the shop is on a smaller scale, I took maybe 12 laps around it -- there's so much to look at & it makes it extremely difficult to make decisions if you're like me ;) Prices are very fair for plants, but pots are locally handmade, so be prepared to support local artists if you have an eye on some of the more intricate pots. They sell more than just plants here, so it's easy to stock up on gifts for others (or yourself!) The staff was super helpful at answering my questions about prices and plants themselves. I am a self-proclaimed lover all of things plants and pottery, and while exploring Indy a few weeks ago, I stumbled upon this gem (thanks to Yelp!) and my wildest dreams instantly came true. I quickly pulled up directions and found street parking available right out front. As I pulled up and looked through the windows, I got super excited. You could see an ample amount of green shining through and I knew I wouldn't be walking away empty handed. I walked through the front door and was greeted by a friendly young lady who was working the shop. I browsed around the main retail side and steered clear of the floral side because they were having a pretty rad photoshoot. Taking a peek inside gave me just enough time to catch the vibe and I wasn't surprised it was photoshoot worthy. I floated around for quite some time and loved their large variety of plants, pots, soaps, décor, candles, macramé, books, and more! When it comes to the plants specifically, I notice some succulents, a good selection of large cacti, pilea peperomioides (love these 'lil dudes), air plants, and more. I ended up falling in love with a cream and terra cotta colored planter, but I had a hard time picking out the perfect plant. I wanted something that I didn't already have (and I've got a lot so that's tricky) and something unique. The lady working was eager to help and picked me out something totally new to me. The prices compared to what I'm accustomed to in Columbus and other specialty plant shops, so I definitely walked out with a pep in my step. My new plant jazzed up my hotel room for the week and fits perfectly in with my other plant babies. If you're into plants, do yourself a favor and stop Grounded if you're in Indy. I have found an indoor jungle in Indy, and it's located at Grounded -- an adorable plant shop near Woodruff Place! This urban oasis of greenery resides in an unassuming spot when seen from the street. Don't let the rather empty shopping strip fool you! Inside the shop on the corner is a magical oasis of flora just waiting for you to enjoy and hopefully take home. I was on a mission to find some unique plants to spruce up my stark-looking home (and add some fresh oxygen into the mix), and a friend had mentioned a little shop on Michigan Ave. Grounded definitely hit the mark! The shop has the most wonderful displays inside. I didn't know where to look first -- hanging baskets and glass globes, handmade clay and terra-cotta pots, and the most gorgeous shelving units just full of luscious greenery. Amanda, the owner, is incredibly sweet and very knowledgeable on all things botanical. She was able to answer all my questions about plants I currently own and some of the ones I was eyeballing in her shop. My only suggestion to Amanda is the addition of a coffee station. I could see myself coming back here just to peacefully sit and enjoy it all again with some java in hand. It was just so well-put-together. read more

I could get lost in this place....and I don't think I would even be mad about it! I visited this place with some friends, and we spent way more time in here than we planned! The plants were gorgeous to look at, and the employee was so knowledgable about each of the plant types! She was able to answer any question we threw at her; it was quite impressive! I trust Grounded Plant + Floral Co. to provide me with a plant that is right for me. When choosing the right one, I shared the amount of sunlight my house could offer the plant, how often I wanted to attend to the plant, and what pets I had. With the combination of that information, the employee helped me choose the perfect one for me! It was truly a great experience! After finding my plant, I had to then find a perfect pot to place it in...so began an entire other process of sorting through their endless pot options! The store truly has it all! I only allow myself to visit this shop every so often because I leave with a plant every time I enter! The quality of their plants is unmatched, and the prices are so very reasonable! I went to this awesome shop yesterday around 12:00 PM. We were able to walk right in, however, they are limiting capacity to 6 customers inside at one given moment. I completely agree with their limited occupancy, but make sure you are wearing something that will keep you warm. This place has indoor plants that range from tiny air plants to good-sized indoor trees. The pricing for all of these plants are extremely fair, my friend bought 13 plants and only spent around $200 for all of them. Most of the plants range from $6-$20 with the exception of the bigger house plants (I think the most expensive I saw was ~$60). I am not well-versed in house plants, but my friend who I went there with is and he was satisfied with their selection and I was satisfied because everything was so pretty. They also sell a wide variety of pots as well as other little trinkets. These include soaps, incense sticks and cones, and awesome handcrafted clay creations that are made by local Indy artists! Overall this was an awesome little shop to go to and I will definitely be back when I need to buy gifts and buy for myself! Very friendly staff as well! read more

I so enjoyed visiting Grounded Plant + Floral Co. for the first time today. I knew what I was looking for going in, so I was only there for a few minutes, but I'll have to return soon! They carry a wide selection of houseplants in different sizes and everything was reasonably priced. I got a healthy looking peperomia, which I've wanted for the longest time, for $8 and a perfectly sized pot to go with it for $11. As other Yelpers have said, there is a 6 person limit due to COVID. I was initially asked to leave because they were at capacity but was able to wait in my car until a couple people left. However, by the time I got my items and checked out, there were several people waiting outside in the 30 degree weather. I completely support the limited capacity during these times but be sure dress for the weather and prepare to wait, if needed! read more
